"A gripping psychological drama on the inherent greed and evil of man, dooming the planet but also the realistic struggle of one woman stuck between two worlds." -- Kirkus Reviews Book 1, 'Call Off The Search': Sula, a halfling and one of the last survivors of her mind-merging species, lives in hiding while searching for others like her. Her responsibility weighs heavily on her as she holds the fate of her entire species in her hands. When she meets Felix, a young human farmer, she begins to question her aversion to humans. As she also grows closer to Felix's twin sister, Feline, she meets the only other surviving comyenti, Sula is forced to make a difficult decision. Book 2, 'Children Of The Sun': In the sequel to 'Call Off The Search', Sula is still searching for Feline, who went missing after confronting the bigoted Shazar about the mysterious Heartmerge. Sula and Felix are desperately trying to find her, but their search is complicated by the arrival of Shazar and his adopted human son, Twello. As tensions rise and a new danger threatens the comyentis, Sula must face the truth about her species, their connection with their enemy, and the future that awaits them.
Follow Sula's journey in 'Children Of The Sun', a darker and more dramatic continuation of 'Call Off The Search'.
"Much of the fun with these two books comes with being inside Sula’s head, the magic of her shapeshifting, and communing with animals and nature. But there is much drama beyond that with her fighting for her own survival, the survival of her species, and with dealing with overwhelming nefarious forces. There’s a youthful feel to the characters and to the narrator’s voice that will go over well with the YA audience, who I suspect will respond the strongest to these back to back novels. If you’re not convinced of that, see how readily the author handles the dynamic between Felix and Sula, which powers us through act one of the first book, and you’ll see what I mean." -- Ian FREE with KindleUnlimited!

This series is a treasure for lovers of fantasy, as it includes two novels: Call of the Search, and Children of the Sun. You’ll get carried away into a universe where magical creatures roam the land, adventure awaits, and romance will conquer all.
The protagonist, Sulla, is strong yet volunrable, so i was easily drawn to her and through her, the story of her race, the Comyenti. They are different: “Beautiful and mysterious, possessing powers of which humans can only dream. and for this, they are hated, persecuted.”
I have never met a heroine like Sula before -- the bold and mysterious half-human, half-comyenti who is the main character of the Comyenti Series. This is a magical story that transports the reader to a marvelous world of love and danger. I loved the author's descriptions of the unique talent that the Comnyenti possess of being able to mind meld with animals. Who wouldn't want that amazing skill? This is a wonderful story.
I found this series quite intriguing. Author Natasja Hellenthal has done a wonderful job of weaving her characters, who are a new species, through many predicaments. If you like adventure, romance, magic, and fantasy, you can't miss this series. Excellent well-written characters and interesting plots. I highly recommend!
Great to see these exciting books together. The Comyenti Series Book Bundle, Volume 1 and 2 by Natasja Hellenthal contains the first two books of the series. These are fresh and fascinating reads. I love how the author blended fantasy with real life and always nice to see a strong female lead. Wonderful storytelling!
Fresh off the author’s novel The Queen’s Curse, which I loved, I had high expectations for these two books. I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. She’s definitely on my shortlist of new and emerging fantasy authors to keep a lookout for as regards future titles.
