Tremendous Value for these Sexy Short Stories

I love the 1Night Stand short stories. I have read most of them when issued by each individual author. Then at the special price of 99 cents for the box set I jumped at the opportunity to get the other stories I had not yet read. The box set is written by several of my favorite authors including Sabrina York and Mina Carter. I just re-read Sabrina York's story entitled Fierce. So sexy. A newly divorced woman is set up by her best friend to have a one night stand with a sexy stranger. The newly divorced woman's ex-husband was an inconsiderate lover, leaving her unfulfilled for 10 long years. As you read through the 1Night Stand stories you will find that Madam Eve, who owns 1Night Stand service has a unique ability to pair up just the right couples. And Sebastian in Fierce was just the right man for the newly divorced Katie. Someday I hope one of the authors writes more about Madam Eve as I would love to find out what powers she has to find the perfect match for people who only think they want a one night stand. This is a great box set.

A very good collection of 1NS stories from various authors. There were a couple of rather disappointing stories, but enough good and great ones to make this anthology completely worth my while.

Ratings & Reviews

Two Men and a Virgin – Kate Richards – 3 Stars Overall I liked the premise of the story, although it ultimately felt a bit incomplete. I liked all the characters, but I don't feel like I had the chance to get to know them. The sex was lackluster, although the men's secret could have made things so much more explosive. I wish the author would have taken the time to provide more details and characterization, which could have made this story much better.

Fierce – Sabrina York – 4 Stars This was a fun, sexy read that got straight to the point. A lot of action was fit into this novella. Loved the two main characters and their chemistry crackled off the page.
Melody’s Wolf – Mina Carter – 3 Stars I enjoyed this one all around. The sexy was steamy and I liked the characters. My only issue was a quick, abrupt, rather cheesy ending. Could have been given a bit more realism. I am intrigued enough to want to read the rest of the series.

The Marquis and the Mistress – Dominique Eastwick – 3 Stars It wasn't completely bad, but in the end it was... kind of boring.

Sweet Irish Kiss – JoAnne Kenrick – 1 Star What an awful, cringeworthy read. I liked Shaun well enough, but Rachel was awful. The epitome of daddy issues, which begs the question, how the hell did she know who her daddy was fucking?? Unless she walked in on him with another woman, her mum shouldn't be telling her that her dad's a whore. She goes to her date and is almost instantaneously a rude bitch. To compensate, she jumps his bones, which seemed more desperate than sexy. These two had no chemistry, and Rachel's dirty/sexy talk was cringeworthy ("I want to see your fit body"). Does anyone actually talk like that? I hope anyone who reads this understands not all the 1NS books are this bad. This is the first one I've hated. Ugh, I wish I could go back and unread the damage.

A Dance with Death – Louisa Bacio – 4 Stars What an unexpected story. I wasn't prepared for the paranormal feel, but I enjoyed it immensely. I liked Raul from the start and Isabella had a rough start, but she redeems herself.

The Two and the Proud – Heather Long – 2 Stars I read this story in a Heather Long collection. Unfortunately, it is not her best story, so I skipped it here. The MCs don’t seem to have a lot of chemistry and the h is not very likable.

Pharaoh, Mine – Kerry Adrienne – 3 Stars Fluffy, but satisfying in its own way.

A Different Class – Leigh Ellwood – 4 Stars Enjoyable read with a realistic problem that was handled well. I really liked both characters and the sex was steamy.

A Hard Day’s Knight – Cate Masters – 1 Star – DNF What an awful story. I finally had to skip ahead just to try to finish it. The 1NS feel was almost entirely left out, which left two people with no chemistry to go on a double date with a very happy couple. Lance was a total ass and apparently was only attracted to the h because she reminded him of a past love. What a great feeling for the h, right? The h is obviously annoyed at Lance's assholery, but apparently forgives him after a dance. Ugh. I need a story with more self-respect.

Curve My Appetite – Melissa Kendall – 3 Stars While I technically liked this story overall, it was missing...something. I liked Sally, but her insecurities and weird naitivity about sex were rather annoying at times. She acted more like a 16-year-old than a woman in her thirties. Some of it made sense, but some of it seemed a bit over the top. Dean was likable and went above and beyond to make her feel sexy. I personally am not sure how he handled all that childish insecurity without batting - or rolling - an eye. The ending was sweet, but missed the mark. What took you so long indeed. Who childishly left who without giving them a chance??

Celestial Seduction – Jessica E. Subject – 3.5 Stars This was a no muss no fuss read. I liked Frey immensely, and I mostly liked Carrie. Her crying and running away were a bit annoying. The only real out of place aspect was her utter acceptance of Frey's secret. Now don't get me wrong, the belief was okay, but not asking a single question before jumping in the sack?? You should probably confirm physical compatibility at the very least. While sweet, the ending was almost laughable in its predictability.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct – Angela S. Stone – 4 Stars I really enoyed this story and both of the characters. How can I not when there is hockey involved?? The epilogue was sweet and it makes me want to give the other stories in this series a chance.

Accidentally Beautiful – Deanna Wadsworth – 4 Stars I thoroughly enjoyed this story. There were plenty of parts that made me smile or chuckle to myself while reading. Marty was slightly uptight, but totally adorable. It was truly a treat to see him come out of his shell and be adventurous. Garrett is a man's man, and I loved how he introduced Marty to fun, new experiences. The interactions between these two were sizzling hot, and my only regret was that there wasn't more to the story. I would have loved a proper epilogue instead of things being so rushed in the end.

This Endris Night – D.L. Jackson – 4 Stars A very interesting twist on a 1NS story, although the 1NS angle was hardly necessary and barely used or mentioned. The premise of the story was original and I was surprised at the complexity of such a short story. My only issue was this plot could have worked very well as a full length novel instead of novella. I would have liked more details about this world and the couple.

Believe in Me – Rebecca Royce – 5 Stars While this story was short, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wish it was longer and explained more. Jack was absolutely adorable and I'm glad he found a worthy woman.

Ravished Before Sunrise – Lia Davis – 3.5 Stars I liked the premise, but I really wanted more details. This story is almost too short, but still satisfying.

easy book to read one of the little novellas and set down, then come back to and go onto the next little novella.

I started out already following the work of two of the authors but have been introduced to a bunch more I wouldn't mind reading more of their work.

I also really liked that there was a variety of romances, some contemporary, some historical, some paranormal, some LGBTQ... there's something for every taste

Another tasty reading

17 stories and 15 are, for me, delightfully funny and loving. I do not swing that way. With vampires, were wolves, demons, humans and aliens combined the series is delightfully open and covers some real life situations. Military, police and other occupations. It is amazing the abilities of the writers each to not duplicate each other. This is the third of the series I have read and not been disappointed. Enjoy

Sometimes it's nice to read a few short stories rather than one long one, and this series is a great one to get that done. As the title implies, it's quite the sizzling hot read, with some amazing authors contributing. There were a couple that were not to my tastes, but that was completely a personal preference, and the little of those I read seemed well written.

Great set for the price of .99 at Amazon. Various stories that I think there is a little for everyone to enjoy. I don't think I have a favorite. I liked most and others were kinda strange but people might enjoy those. They are funny, quirky, and sexy reads. Enjoyed very much.

Like most anthologies, this book was a mixed bag for me. Plus, it was just too many stories, I started feeling like it was never going to end.
