A witchy nanny. A broody single dad. A Christmas tree farm full of wonder, second chances, and just enough Maren family mischief to change everything.
For fans of The Holiday, Gilmore Girls, and Practical Magic. This one's for you.
Remy Bennett hasn’t believed in magic or Christmas in a long time. Not since he became a single dad overnight and buried his heart beneath flannel, firewood, and the endless to-do list of running Bennett Tree Farm. With a business to keep afloat and a five-year-old daughter to raise, Remy’s holiday season is usually spent dodging carols, surviving the crowds, and keeping his distance from anything that might hurt again. Joy, love, mistletoe? No, thank you.
He’s grumpy. He’s guarded. And he’s determined to power through the holidays in peace.
But this year, Junie wants twinkle lights, cookie baking, and bedtime stories that don’t come from tired dads with callused hands. So Remy does the one thing he swore he wouldn’t. He hires a nanny.
Ivy Maren is a little too bright. A little too chaotic. And maybe, just maybe… a little bit magical.
With glitter on her cheeks and warmth in her bones, Ivy turns the entire farm upside down. Suddenly, the scent of cinnamon and cedar fills the air. Mistletoe appears in places Remy swears he didn’t hang. Junie’s laughter rings through the farmhouse like sleigh bells. And Ivy, with her soft sweaters, secret smiles, and something almost enchanted in her touch, begins to thaw the ice around Remy’s heart.
He tells himself it’s just the season. That this strange, shining girl is just here for a job. That once the new year comes, the magic will fade.
But Ivy isn’t just here to care for Junie. She’s here to rewrite what Christmas means to a lonely little girl, to a tree farm that’s lost its sparkle, and to the man who doesn’t know how to believe anymore.
This holiday, love might be the most magical thing of all. 🎄 For readers who crave flannel-wearing heroes, found family, and a little magic in their mistletoe.

Have you ever read a book by Branscom? No? See this as the sign that you definitely should! Mistletoe & Magic was my first introduction to Erin Branscom’s writing, and what a delightful introduction it was.
The story is beautifully structured. It makes you feel cozy, heartwarming, and just the right amount of festive sparkle. You get to know the characters so well that by the end, they almost feel like friends (the kind you’d want to drink hot cocoa with by the fire, please, Remy?).
The plot unfolds at a perfect pace. Not too slow, not too rushed. It kept me hooked from the very first page to the last. I found myself completely immersed, flipping through chapters far too quickly for my own good. I won’t get those missed hours of sleep back.
It’s one of those books that leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a smile on your face. It will come as no surprise that this book gets 5 stars from me!
In ‘Mistletoe & Magic’ by Erin Branscom, I loved everything from the moment I saw the wintry magical book cover to the very last page! This book gave me all the warm, happy feels of a Christmas romance I didn’t know I longed for!
I was immediately drawn to the FMC, Ivy, and knew she will be someone that many readers can definitely empathize with and find relatable. I also felt that way about the MMC, Remy. He’s a wonderful father to his young daughter, but to others has a hard exterior that needs softening and barriers that need breaking. Ivy is determined to do both, if Remy can just let his guard down long enough to allow her to be Junie’s new nanny.
This is my first Christmas romance book this year, and I don’t think there’s going to be anything that can measure up! It offers tension-filled moments stemming from realistic problems/conflicts to plenty of fun. It’s cozy, super sweet, uplifting and pulls at your heartstrings! So grab the tissues!
If you like novels that include characters you’ll adore and some you’ll despise, small town Christmas traditions, relatives who care, and stories that ‘don’t’ have a lot of misunderstandings always getting in the way (thank you Erin Branscom), and where true love is tested in a gut-wrenching way, then you won’t want to pass up Magic & Mistletoe! This is my first book by Erin Branscom and I’m over the moon, it was THAT special, and I’ll be reading the rest of the Wisteria Cove series after this.
I try not to do this, but I am utterly surprised and dismayed as to how completely garbage this is. DNF after 30 errors in grammar, spelling, syntax in the literal first 10 pages. How can one publish something without even bothering to proof read, at all?
I genuinely enjoy the Wisteria Cove world — the cozy nostalgia, the charming small-town details, and the characters you can’t help but root for. It’s comfort reading, and the series definitely delivers on that front. But there are also some craft issues that are hard to ignore and occasionally pulled me out of the story.
There are noticeable continuity errors that made me wonder whether anyone line-edited the manuscript. One example: Ivy is literally in the same room as Finn for several minutes, and then the narration suddenly announces “she took one look at him,” as if she hasn’t been standing there the whole time. Moments like that break immersion and make scenes feel sloppily assembled.
The conflict dynamics are also a bit exaggerated in a way that doesn’t always feel realistic. Ivy crying for days because Remi yelled at her when his child went missing didn’t match the situation; his reaction was normal parental panic, and framing it like he was being “just like Derek” felt forced. The only genuinely harsh moment was him calling her “just the nanny,” but much of the emotional tension seems engineered rather than organic.
Stylistically, the lack of contractions gives every line a slightly stiff, unnatural tone. The dialogue and narration start to sound like everyone is delivering dramatic monologues: “There is more.” “It is like the goats on the farm.” “Because you are mine.” A few sentences like that can feel lyrical; an entire book of them becomes distracting.
And the metaphors are… something. They reach so hard for poetic impact that they sometimes veer into abstract or unintentionally humorous territory. A kiss becomes “a promise set to candlelight and snow,” a smile is compared to “the soup at the center of winter just got richer,” and books have “pages that smell like ink and plot.” They certainly stand out, but not always in a way that enhances the scene.
All that said… am I going to read the third book? Absolutely. Despite the cheesiness and inconsistencies, the series has a warmth and charm that keeps me coming back. It’s perfectly imperfect comfort reading, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
I DNF’d this book. Made it about a third of the way through, and the chemistry is there, as are the cozy vibes. But the writing is all over the place. The author didn’t seem to keep track of where her characters were in any given scene. In one scene we’re told that Ivy is outside with the dog, then suddenly she’s there telling Junie that the dog belongs to her but Junie is her favorite person, then, like a paragraph later, “Ivy wanders in from the back porch.” This is on page 109 and 110 of the kindle edition, and is one of many, many examples. I was constantly wondering what time of day is it, where is this action happening, and just generally confused about where the characters were. It needs some editing, to say the least.
Not to mention the scene where Remy takes his kid along to confront Ivy’s ex and get her stuff and the dog back! Like… why tf would anyone take their kid to that potentially volatile situation?? It made absolutely no sense that Remy’s character would do that, that anyone who cares about their kid would do that.
Lastly, again I’m a third of the way through this book, and there’s been literally zero magic. I was under the impression by the description that the title meant, like magic-magic, like characters have magic powers. Maybe it was just metaphorical and alluding to the magic of Christmas, I can’t say because I didn’t finish the book, but if that’s the case, the description needs some tweaking.
No idea how there are so many 4 and 5 star reviews for this book.
When I discovered the Wisteria Cove trilogy by Erin Branscom, I knew I had to dive in. I was fortunate to receive a digital galley of Mistletoe & Magic, but I wanted to experience the previous book first. After reading it through Kindle Unlimited, I truly loved it, which made me all the more excited for Mistletoe & Magic. This time, the focus is on Ivy and Remy, and their single-dad, age-gap romance feels like a warm hug on a cold day. It’s a sweet and cozy story filled with characters you can’t help but adore. Erin’s writing is stunning; I found myself highlighting so many passages that resonated with me. I appreciated the development of the romance and the growth of the characters throughout the story. It was wonderful to see familiar faces like Willa, Tate, Rowan, Lilith, Donna, Pete, and even Cobweb. I fell in love with Ivy, Remy, and Junie and eagerly anticipate Rowan and Finn’s story next. Overall, this was such a heartwarming and festive read. I loved all the holiday activities that Ivy and Junie participated in, and I was secretly hoping for Ivy’s recipes! It was an incredibly enjoyable book, and I’m thrilled to have discovered Erin Branscom and her works, now I want to read them all!
3☆ because i DNF'd very early and there is potential
this definitely has potential but the execution was not great. granted i didn't read the first book but with interconnected books you still shouldn't feel like you've been landed right in the middle with 0 background whatsoever. everything is instant, there's no development. i'm talking 20-50 pages into the book, first day, her and the kid are meant to be and the dad is obsessed with her already
the dialogue is very stilted, cringey inner monologues, ZERO editing or proof reading, so many spelling and grammar errors, no spaces or breaks between who's speaking, a few paragraphs went on for multiple pages and the continuity is off in multiple spots
i assumed this would have magic but so far there's none just vague stuff about her sisters and mom maybe sort of having magic? i'm not even sure
again, it does have potential. the cozy christmas vibe is there, the characters are likable, etc. but the flaws were just too jarring and consistently pulled me out
We return to Wisteria Cove to focus on Willa's sister, Ivy. Ivy had her heartbroken and is returning home, in need of a place to live and a job. Remy, single dad, Christmas tree farm owner, is in need of a nanny for his little girl. Their needs align & Ivy already loves his little girl, has since they moved home. Remy has always had a thing for Ivy, but life is hard and love sucks. has always found Remy attractive and he's an amazing dad but he's so broody and grumpy, does he ever smile? This book is the perfect cozy holiday read! Erin knows how to write the scene so that you are there, smelling the greenery on the Christmas tree farm and seeing the glow of the farmhouse windows. Tropes: single dad, forced proximity, small town, cozy holiday, childhood friends

This book was a cozy hug. It’s full of so many holiday traditions and hallmark vibes, with spice thrown in there…and not the seasoning kind 😉 Remy is a grumpy owner of a tree farm but loving when he needs to be, especially with his daughter, Junie. Ivy never stays anywhere for too long, especially after being burned bad by her ex. I seriously want her to come spread her energy and holiday magic at my house! You instantly root for them both! The side characters are a great bonus! 🌲Single Dad/Nanny ❤️Grumpy/Sunshine 🌲Angst ❤️Found Family 🌲Tree farm ❤️Spicy 🌲Undeniable chemistry This is a must read holiday book! Thank you, Erin, for the ARC!
I love a good single dad and nanny trope. Throw in grumpy/sunshine along with Hallmark Christmas background, I'm all in. Remy and Ivy had great chemistry. Their story was an emotional rollercoaster but they worked to show their love and support towards each other. The side characters were great as well.
I absolutely loved experiencing Ivy and Remy’s story. It is a beautiful depiction of love for a single parent including a package deal. Remy messes up as we all do, but what he does to try to win her back made me look at my hubby and say “I think I have a new book boyfriend” I am so happy to know the story of other characters you fall in love with continues in the next book!
This was such a sweet, winter read. You get so many classic holiday moments sprinkled throughout the book and it really feels like a hallmark movie (with a lot more spice). I absolutely fell in love with Remy and was desperately rooting for him to get his act together. Ivy is a bit of a hot mess and just blows Remy’s world to bits the minute she’s hired as the nanny by his mom.
ERIN!!! This was my favorite wisteria cove book so far, the chemistry… PALPABLE. The story…. IMMACULATE. I lived every second and it was such an easy going heartfelt feel good Christmas read, I’ve actually never read a Christmas book and I love Christmas so this was really fun to read☺️🥹 10/10 stars, also DONNA cracked me up she really wing manned that so go Donna lol!! Love a brooding grumpy single dad
Loved, loved, loved. I knew from last book I was going to love Remy & Ivy and I was spot on. It was so dang good. I could not put it down and totally blew my bed-time. All I want is to go back to Wisteria Cove.
I always love a good single dad romance. But throw in a dog, Christmas vibes and just a pinch of magic and it is perfections!!!! It was the perfect book to read when you’re switching from spooky season to Christmas season.
Just what the holiday season ordered for this 2nd installment of Wisteria Cove. You've got age gap and a Dad & Nanny scenario. He's grumpy and she's all sunshine. This isn't heavy/deep on plot perse but that makes it a fast fun read.
I would love to thank Erin Branscom for giving me the opportunity to ARC read this amazing Hallmark style holiday romance.
Take a trip down to Wisteria Cove and experience the holiday magic with a sprinkling of witchy elements. When Ivy blew back into town she took the whole town by storm. Remington had no idea what his new nanny had in store for him and his daughter.
If you are ready for a holiday romance that will make you both laugh and cry this book is a must read!

Ivy Maron just got out of a relationship with lawyer Derek, and she returns home without a job or a plan. Swapping jobs is not unusual for Ivy, but she’s offered one she’s never had before by the mother of the local hunky tree farmer who is a single dad. When Ivy shows up for her first day on the job, it’s clear Remy had no idea he needed a nanny, but he’s known Ivy a long time & if his mom says he needs the help, he’ll take it, especially if it’s from the newly single younger woman he’s definitely noticed before.
The start of this story was fun to follow. It had your typical Hallmark vibes to it, but once the two got together only halfway through the book, I started to lose interest. It was at that point every other chapter was them being introspectively mushy about how they had found their person and how they knew nothing could break them. Several chapters of this were then followed by the 3rd act breakup. Now I don’t mind these and this one was for an unexpected reason, but I felt like all the lead up to Sloane, Remy’s ex wife, was missing for any of this to be logical. Her role in all of it felt forced and not realistic in that moment.
Along the way, there were also random things that made me struggle to keep reading. Pete was introduced like halfway through the book as this character they can’t live without but it took half the book to even hear about him. It was roughly at the halfway point where suddenly Ivy is being referred to by her last name. I didn’t even know who they were talking about at first. It was almost as though the first half of the book was more heavily edited and then they lost steam.
I have not read the first book in the series, so I’m not sure if that would have cleared some things up like the total absence of magic even though the sisters in the book are referred to occasionally as witches. I’m walking away from the book not knowing if they mean this as actual magic or just pretend. All that said, and I would still like to read the next book because Ivy’s sister and Remy’s brother both seem to have a fire that would lead to some great banter and hopefully some more spice.

so happy I got to read this book early. it was a beautiful story. I loved every second and am waiting for the next book. I love Erin's writing. makes you feel like you're in the story.
loved it so much. thank you again for the early copy. I finished it in less than 24 hours!
“Mistletoe & Magic” is a delightful seasonal read: warm, cozy, charming, and perfect if you’re in the mood for a holiday-set romance that lifts your spirits. Erin Branscom has crafted characters you root for, a setting you want to visit, and a feel-good book that delivers on the promise of magic, second chances, and love. The tree-farm backdrop, the holiday decorations, the mistletoe, the sense of magic all around — these come through vividly. It immerses you in that wintry, cozy, feel-good seasonal vibe that you just want to climb right into and stay for the hot cocoa.
Mistletoe & Magic swept me into its snowy, witchy, small-town charm. As the second Wisteria Cove book, it follows Ivy—freshly dumped by her Temu boyfriend—who becomes a live-in nanny for Remy, the grumpy single dad running the Christmas tree farm. ruly the perfect recipe for a holiday romance, Hallmark-but-better style. I liked the first book, but this one? Total upgrade.
Ivy is an instantly lovable FMC—relatable, chaotic, warm, and determined even when life keeps throwing glitter and heartbreak. Remy is her perfect opposite: broody, rugged, and guarded while raising little Junie. Their chemistry has a touch of insta-love, but the slow-burn emotional connection (and the “we’ve secretly crushed on each other for years” backstory) makes it believable and adorable. And can we talk about the moms? Donna and Lilith are the MVP matchmakers of Wisteria Cove.
This book has everything I want from a cozy winter read: magical touches, heartfelt moments, a child who steals every scene, and a romance that warms you from the inside out. The atmosphere is peak comfort—crisp air, twinkling lights, soft sweaters, and found-family chaos. I also loved how deeply you get to know the characters; by the final chapters, Ivy, Remy, and Junie felt like people I’d happily drink hot cocoa with (preferably in Remy’s kitchen).
My only hiccup was the timeline—it was a bit confusing, especially since this book takes place right after book one, yet the “one week later” jumps didn’t quite line up with the countdown to Christmas. But honestly? It didn’t take away from my enjoyment. This installment has more warmth, more magic, and more emotional depth than the first. Now time for the third book—give me the best-friends-to-lovers slow burn and banter!
Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that was just released today called, Mistletoe and Magic. This is about Ivy, she's looking for a job and gets hired as the nanny for a sweet little girl named Junie and her grumpy, flannel-wearing, Christmas tree farm owning, single dad named Remy who is not thrilled about this idea. But Ivy brings light, laughter, and Christmas magic into their house and turns it into a home. Remy has never seen his daughter happier and he's trying not to fall for the woman responsible for bringing joy and happiness back into their lives. She's not only making the house feel warm and light, but his heart too. The pull between them is undeniable, but if they try and see if what's between them is real then things go wrong not only would they get hurt but Junie would too. But true love is the greatest Christmas magic of all, if they give it a chance. I absolutely loved this story! I loveee the grumpy/sunshine trope, and these two characters were written so well! I loved their dynamic, the undeniable chemistry, their banter, the found family aspect. This book felt like a cup of hot cocoa and your favorite cozy blanket; sweet and comforting. 💞 This was the perfect book for Christmas time! Erin is one of my favorite authors, I love her books and her writing style, her stories are so easy to read and enjoy! Highly recommend her books! (Also this is book 2 in this series, book 1 is about Ivy's sister and it's fall themed The Pumpkin Spice Spell, and then book 3 is about her other sister and is releasing soon!) I absolutely can't wait to read book 3! ❤️📚
Thank you to the author and her team for this ARC of Mistletoe and Magic, in exchange for an honest review.
Hallmark-type love story ✅ Single dad trope ✅ Grumpy/sunshine ✅
This was such a cute continuation to the Wisteria Cove series! I absolutely love these characters and wish I could live in this world.
Ivy - mid twenties just trying to find her place in the world. Full of light and laughter. Remy - mid thirties, guarded, wary, Christmas tree farmer who secretly wants to be loved like none other.
I love that our two main characters have secretly been crushing on one another from afar for so long. The way their story unfolds is magic. And the love they have for their families and Junie is so sweet.
The townspeople having their Christmas celebration for Pete had me truly sobbing.
The spicy scenes were good! Not too much. I actually hoped for a little more between them ; maybe some Dom behavior or something from Remy to go with the older man trope Ivy loves and fantasized about. 😉
Ok, now for the reason it only got three stars while book one received five… Typos, typos, typos. And SO MANY repeated and misplaced sentences and paragraphs. It pulled me totally out of the story many times. I should have been able to finish this book in a day or two of casual reading. It took me several days to get through even though I loved it 😭 it just felt like a rushed print. Please Erin get a friend to read these for you and help you with edits I beg! I’ll volunteer! Also the plot was perfect at the beginning and then when they got together it basically died for awhile before the typical third-act breakup. I did like the resolution but the break-up and drama felt forced.
I still will read the next in the series as I am MOST excited for Rowan and Finn’s friends to lovers story. I hope Erin doesn’t rush to write that one and gives us a beautiful story.

🎄✨ ARC Review: Mistletoe & Magic by Erin Branscom ✨🎄
There’s grumpy, and then there’s Remy Bennett ( That name) a flannel-clad single dad who’s traded mistletoe for power tools and buried his heart beneath the frozen ground of Bennett Tree Farm. ❄️ Christmas? He’s over it. Love? Doesn’t believe in it.
Then Ivy Maren shows up all sunshine, cinnamon, and just enough chaos to shake the snow off his roof and the ice off his heart. 💫 She’s the new nanny with glitter on her cheeks, warmth in her voice, and something a little too magical in the way she makes even a grumpy lumberjack believe again. 🌟
Suddenly, twinkle lights appear where Remy swears he didn’t hang them. Laughter fills rooms that have been quiet for years. And the man who’s built walls taller than his pines finds himself wanting to tear them all down for her. ❤️🔥
Mistletoe & Magic is a small-town Christmas romance that glows with heart, heat, and just the right touch of wonder. It’s about second chances, found family, and the kind of love that doesn’t just warm your heart it sets your world on fire. 🔥🎅
If you crave: 💋 Grumpy lumberjack dads 🧣 Glitter-dusted heroines 🌲 Cozy cabins & sizzling chemistry 🎁 Christmas magic with emotional punch
Then get ready to fall — hard — under the spell of Mistletoe & Magic. ✨❤️
