They expected a nervous eighteen-year-old.
They got me—thirty-four, pissed off, and accidentally lighting things on fire.

Next thing I know, a glowing invitation appears in my fridge—yep, right next to the leftover pizza. Turns out, I’ve been drafted into Aveline Academy for the Magically Gifted.

Now I’m stuck in a school full of magical mayhem, deadly secrets, and creatures who keep bowing to me like I’m royalty. Artifacts shatter when I touch them, people stare like I’m a sideshow, and everyone whispers the same thing; Phoenix wielder. Rare. Dangerous. Likely to explode.

And the men? Oh, the men.

Magnus: The brooding groundskeeper who could chop wood—or me—in half.

Dorian: My sharp-suited professor who’s all discipline… until his dragon side slips free.

Kieran: A wickedly beautiful fae with a silver gaze and a smirk that could start wars.

Between the dangerously hot men, the whispers about the last Phoenix wielder’s death, and someone hunting me before I figure out what I am, life at Aveline Academy is one magical disaster away from chaos.

And honestly? I’ve never felt more alive.

A spicy reverse harem paranormal romance featuring a 30+ heroine, multiple love interests, magical academy drama, and a mystery that could set the world on fire. Book 1 in the Last Flame of Aveline Academy series. Mature themes and scorching scenes inside.

Great idea and started strong, but then it just….. drifted. The FMC did not feel like she was 35, she acted like a daft teen for most of it. Let’s ignore the cat familiar altogether. Let’s bond with a random guy then never speak to him again. It’s dragging now for me so DNF

Magical, Spicy, and Full of Mystery

This was a good, fast-paced read. The main character is layered and complex, which made her journey feel real and compelling. The magical academy setting is immersive and full of surprises, and I loved the deeper mystery woven throughout the story, it kept me guessing and intrigued the entire time. The romance is slow-burn but satisfying, and the reverse harem dynamics add just the right amount of spice without taking over the plot. Between magical powers, school drama, and the secrets lurking around every corner, it was impossible to put down. While the story isn’t perfect, it held my attention and left me curious for what comes next. Definitely a must-read for fans of magical schools, reverse harems, and a story that blends heat with suspense. I’ll be eagerly picking up the next book.

I guess this book had to be published in a rush.

The story has potential, but the writing is like someone barely went through a first draft and hit publish. The first half of the book is more or less ok, but it gets really bad by the end.

The timelines don't match (first it's days between events, then it was yesterday), which is really irritating. Some pieces feel missing, and other sections are repeated. An important confession at the end is just a repeat of what was said barely an hour (a couple of pages) before.

The whole story feels rushed. The characters have no time for proper development. There is chemistry between the FMC and her males, but again, it is fractured because of the general rush. The FMC is supposed to know nothing about the magical world she suddenly is part of, but knows how to spot a werewolf in human form.

I'll maybe give the second book a chance as - again - I like the general idea but given the barely two months between book one and two, I am not hopeful at all.
