“A Christmas Serenade" by Jennifer Moore, Kasey Stockton, Katie Stewart Stone, and Anneka R. Walker is a festive, historical romance anthology! These feel-good novellas will get you in the mood for the holiday season. I loved each sweet story. There are plenty of Christmas balls, romances, and house parties to make a person swoon and be swept back to another era. The stories have humor, wit, banter, nods to Dickens and plenty of sparks flying. Several stories have characters from the authors’ other series, that fans will be delighted to see again and see their stories resolved. Each novella can also be read as a standalone. “A Caroling Christmas” by Jennifer Moore has a house party, nods to Dickens and a scatterbrained naturalist meeting an organized party planner. “A Carol So Bright” by Kasey Stockton has a clumsy heroine and a musical hero who were childhood friends. “Christmas at Bellingham” by Katie Stewart Stone has music, a Christmas ball, complicated family relationships, childhood friends, fencing and first kisses. And finally, “Christmas at Amorwich” by Anneka R. Walker is full of a second chance romance, unrequited love, Christmas miracles and legends, dealing with grief, humor and wit, midnight dances, sewing mishaps, and cooking together (with sparks flying). Can the characters find healing and hope and choose to love and forgive? I highly recommend this delightful historical novella collection to lovers of sweet romance that puts you in the Christmas spirit!

Content: I give this book a PG rating. “A Caroling Christmas”: mention of a fortune teller and ghosts; spiders. “A Carol So Bright”: emotional infidelity; mention of alcohol. “Christmas at Bellingham”: rumors of gambling and illegitimate children; terminal illness; someone was drunk in the past. TW: estrangement; a kiss without consent. “Christmas at Amorwich”: loss and grief. TW: A side character has depression.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Four charming historical Christmas novellas in one anthology.

🎄“A Caroling Christmas” by Jennifer Moore started this set off with a hairy surprise. It was so much fun to see the mashup of an organized party planner and a scattered naturalist with a slight Dickens feel.
🎄“A Carol So Bright” by Kasey Stockton is full of all things music. An ungainly heroine and a talented hero connect in a beautiful holiday melody with oranges and Clementine.
🎄“Christmas at Bellingham” by Katie Stewart Stone is a sweet friends-to-love with a delightful Christmas Ball and fencing.
🎄“Christmas at Amorwich” by Anneka R. Walker is a sweet second chance romance that also encompasses the true meaning of the holiday by serving a lonely grump.

Each story brought a different angle to this beloved holiday and aligned to deliver a pleasant reading experience. I loved each author’s unique offering that made this set enjoyable and heartwarming. Cozy up and get yourself ready for this most wonderful time of the year.

Content: some themes of forgiveness; mild romance

Christmas at Bellingham by Katie Stewart Stone

This was my first by Katie Stewart Stone, and I look forward to going and listening to her 2 books on her backlist, especially Annabelle's story. I loved the themes of family, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Such beautiful messages. It is only too late to reconcile when one of the family members has passed away. Family is so important, and Katie elegantly demonstrated that in this sweet and beautiful novella set at Christmas time.
I also adored Andrew and Esther's sweet and tender romance. They are so cute together. I really loved the fencing scene!
Definitely recommend this Christmas novella!

Christmas in Amorwich by Anneka Walker

Happy sigh. Another lovely story to love by Anneka Walker. I absolutely adored Noah and Amelia's second chance romance. While there was miscommunication, it is quickly resolved as the story goes on, and it could not be more perfect. I loved how she began to thaw quickly to Noah. I felt like the pacing of their romance was just right, not rushed and not too slow either.
I really loved  the fact that they decided to discover The Legend of Amorwich together, and in doing so, they served a lonely and grumpy man. I loved how that all played out. Both characters care about those around them and are selfless.
Such a beautiful tale of romance, but also remembering those who are lonely and less fortunate at Christmas time. I definitely recommend this novella!

A Caroling Christmas by Jennifer Moore - 4 stars - Arthur Stanford, may be an eligible gentleman, but he is also a scientist who care more about taking care of his specimens than socializing. So when his sister and mother partner with Eliza Hopewell, a planner of events, to plan and carry out a Dickensian Christmas house party, he reluctantly goes along with their plans. But what he doesn’t anticipate is Elizabeth, and how she could change everything. Sweet and fun.

A Carol So Bright by Kasey Stockton - 3.5 stars - Lillian Hartley, a woman who loves to sing, has not sung a note sing she witnessed Theo, her brother’s best friend, kissing her best friend, Aida. Having loved him since she was a child, it hurt too much to see that he loved someone else. But Theo has been in Vienna studying music for the past three years, and having returned home for Christmas, not only will Lilly have to face him, but he will have to face Aida and see if they still have the same feelings for each other as when he left. And as all of them have to untangle all of their feelings, Lilly must find the confidence to understand that she is of worth, even without her beautiful singing voice. I enjoyed it, but I was frustrated by some of the behavior, and part of me just kept wondering if Lillian needed glasses.

Christmas at Bellingham by Katie Stewart Stone - 3.5 stars - Esther Harris endeavors to convince her family to visit her for Christmas. She is living with relatives sister in-laws who are much wealthier than her family and was raised by them. This Christmas when she sees her old childhood friend, sparks fly and she falls in love

Christmas in Amorwich by Anneka R. Walker - 3 stars - Amelia Park is disillusioned by romance after Noah Brooks did not propose the year before, leaving her confused and desolate. But when they come together again for the Christmas holidays, she discovers the reasons he waited, and has to decide if she can trust his intention.

A fun compilation, but some of the stories were better than others.

All the love for this delightful Christmas anthology from four favorite authors! Each story in A Christmas Serenade captures the spirit of Christmas with nods to Dickens, house parties, enjoyable traditions, & a touch of faith. I enjoyed each charming novella & the tie-ins to previous books by these authors.

A Caroling Christmas by Jennifer Moore harkened back to a traditional Dickens Christmas with an accident prone naturalist & talented, organized party planner. I thoroughly enjoyed the creative parties incorporating themes from A Christmas Carol. I loved the Victorian feel & all the delightful Christmas activities including a fortune teller with a hidden identity, a cute tarantula, ice skating, & funny meet cute. I loved Arthur’s & Eliza’s sweet opposites attract romance.

A Carol So Bright by Kasey Stockton is a lovely unrequited love/second chance romance. Lillian Hartley feels like she’s only appreciated for her musical talent. After her hopes were dashed by her brother’s best friend, she’s lost her confidence in singing. Now years later, Theo’s returned home after studying music abroad. While he starts to see Lillian in a new light, she’s reluctant to give her heart. Lillian’s an endearing character with a heart of gold & some relatable clumsiness. I loved her picking oranges, sharing music with Theo, her parrot Clementine, & Theo’s gift.

Christmas at Bellingham by Katie Stewart Stone carried wonderful themes of family, forgiveness, & reconciliation. I thoroughly enjoyed Andrew & Esther. I loved the fencing scene, first kisses, the Christmas ball, & a tender childhood friends to more romance.

Christmas in Amorwich by Anneka Walker is enemies to more, second chance romance at its best. After Noah fails to propose, Amelia has written him off. When they’re reunited at Christmas, the sparks fly, but can they find a second chance at love. I thoroughly enjoyed how they investigated the Legend of Amorwich together & in turn find a way to help a lonely, old man. Loved the sewing mishaps, cooking together, & delightful humor.

Highly recommend this charming Christmas collection! I received an advanced copy from the publisher with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

Each of the four novellas in Christmas Serenade were engaging and enjoyable. I enjoyed the settings and time periods. All take place in 1800s, England with all except one explicitly sharing the date. In "A Caroling Christmas", a party planner finds herself connecting with her scientist employer over the Christmas holiday. Some entertaining matchmaking attempts that fall flat, a pretend fortune teller who is remarkably on target, and a missing tarantula made for a smile-inducing read. Despite his social awkwardness Arther makes for a different sort of romantic lead.

"A Carol So Bright" presents readers with friends reuniting just in time for Christmas. But romantic entanglements create tension between the old friends, can things be worked out in time for them to enjoy the holiday? The changing relationships provide the characters a chance to follow their hearts and find love through Christmas.

"Christmas at Bellingham" can be read on its own but involves some characters and events from another book called Coming Home to Bellingham. Esther's delighted to be reunited with her childhood best friend, who it turns out she loves. But her desire to repay the kindness of the dowager countess who has become her hostess and mentor leads her to send a letter in the dowager's name inviting her estranged son to visit for Christmas. Unfortunately, her ignorance of the reasons for the estrangement may have led her to hurt others in the process. Esther's boldness leads her to make mistakes that may difficult to fix. A thoughtful look at the importance of humility and forgiveness, especially at Christmas.

"Christmas in Amorwich" revolves around a star-crossed couple who meet after a year-long separation. Amelia's reluctance to trust Noah again after he failed to propose the previous Christmas makes Noah's efforts to propose more difficult than expected. But maybe reaching out to a lonely neighbor and a romantic legend about people finding love at Christmas may help Noah and Amelia find a way back to each other.

Four engaging, romantic stories from the past, make for some sweet and thoughtful reading as themes of related to love and forgiveness stand out in this Christmas anthology.

Every fall, I look forward to these delightful Christmas novella collections. I get stories by some of my favorite authors and often find new authors to love.

A Caroling Christmas by Jennifer Moore is an opposites-attract story. Arthur Stanford reminded me of the absent-minded professor, as he would get so consumed with his research he'd forget everything else. There's an adorable meet cute with Eliza Hopewell, party organizer extraordinaire and I loved the forced proximity of a house party.

A Carol so Bright by Kasey Stockton is a second-chance, friends-to-more, brother's best friend romance. Lillian Hartley loves to sing but lost her confidence after heartbreak. Theo, the man who broke her heart is back from studying in Austria and staying with her family during Christmas. I loved all the Christmas preparations and that both of them loved music.

Christmas at Bellingham by Katie Stewart Stone is a friends-to-love story. Esther Harris tries to heal old family wounds and ends up finding unexpected love with a childhood friend. I loved the scenes at the ball and the theme of forgiveness.

Christmas in Amorwich by Anneka Walker is another second-chance romance. Amelia Park is disillusioned about love after Noah Brooks failed to propose. Their holiday reunion becomes a high-stakes effort for Noah, who realizes he may have waited far too long. I loved the interfering siblings and the legend of Amorwich.

Together, these four stories make a warm, uplifting read that’s perfect for December nights (or anytime you need a dose of holiday spirit). Each novella has its own charm, but they all share a theme of love, forgiveness, and fresh beginnings.

This collection is sweet, comforting, and full of Christmas magic. Grab a blanket and a cup of cocoa—you’ll want to savor this one. I received an ecopy from the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

One thing I look forward to each Christmas season is reading the Christmas anthologies that come out. I was so excited to pick up A Christmas Serenade especially when I saw the author line-up: These four lived up to my expectations and this anthology was 100% a five star read for me!

*A Caroling Christmas by Jennifer Moore had such unique characters with a gentleman scientist and a Victorian era’s version of an event planner. I thought the house party aspects and the spiders were really fun, though I am not sure I would be as cool as Eliza with them. Super cute.

*A Carol So Bright by Kasey Stockton had some great second chance romance vibes and yummy chemistry between the main characters; I was here for every second of it. Lilian and Theo may not have been a couple before, but with a long standing friendship could this time around finally be right for them? I loved the way Theo had fallen for Lilian even without realizing it. It was so cute to read, I will read it again.
*Christmas at Bellingham by Katie Stewart Stone I liked how this book actually brought some closure to a storyline from Stone’s debut novel. It was a fun perspective with an adorable friends to lovers romance that made me smile.

*Christmas in Amorwich by Anneka Walker Walker has had the sweetest romances in these anthologies over the years and I love that with this novella we get Amelia’s story. The second chance vibes were strong, Noah was stinkin’ adorable, and I loved the whole legend behind true love and Amorwich. This was a total winner for me.

I loved each novella, they hit the Christmas romance vibes I was hoping for, and I highly recommend this anthology. Ten stars!

It always starts to feel like the holidays are a little closer when the Christmas books start to come. And I love that!

This one features novellas by four amazing historical authors. I love reading books like this! They are easy to read, because you know the story will end sooner than later. This one is just so great!

First up is "A Caroling Christmas" by Jennifer Moore. I loved Arthur in this book. He's a little forgetful and eccentric. And such a great guy. I loved how Eliza comes into his world and makes things a little brighter for him. This is such a cute story!

Then we have "A Carol so Bright" by Kasey Stockton. Archie has come home, but things are not the way he would have hoped. His mother isn't there. And his dear friend no longer sings. I loved the way he helps Lily to see that she has value, even when it's hard for her to feel she does.

"Christmas at Bellingham" by Katie Stewart Stone is next. This was a cute story. With both a friends to more love story and a cute girl helping to make Christmas brighter for the people she cares about.

Last up is "Christmas in Amorwich" by Anneka Walker. I loved the way this story had a legend about couples in Amorwich finding love at Christmastime. Amelia and Noah take it upon themselves to determine if it's a true legend or not. Along the way, they help a lonely gentleman and maybe find love themselves.

This is such a great Christmas collection!

This anthology is the perfect beginning to get yourself into the holiday spirit!! These are quick to read and will fill your heart with joy and love!

A Caroling Christmas
By: Jennifer Moore

“I am odd, Miss Hopewell,” he said. “Awkward. I have strange hobbies. I am clumsy, absent-minded.” He shrugged, giving a crooked smile. “But when I am with you, I feel as if none of that matters. You are a remedy to my shortcomings. You make order out of chaos, you beautify…”

I loved the relationship between Eliza and Arthur! Arthur’s quirks and the way Eliza accepts him is beautiful! The theme of accepting others as they are was absolutely heartwarming!

A Carol So Bright
By: Kasey Stockton

“The way you light up when you serve others, your smile when you planned the oranges for the children and introduced your parrot to them. You are a beacon of light, and you are perfect exactly as you are, Lily. Your light shines no less brightly for your imperfections.”

I loved the brothers best friend trope, the orange picking, Clementine 🦜, and Lillian and Theo’s love of music that continues their bond. The unrequited love kept me engaged in this sweet story!

Christmas at Bellingham
By: Katie Stewart Stone

“I have loved you from the very moment I understood what love was.”

This is a beautiful story of forgiveness and reconciliation! The dowager is one of my favorite characters in this sweet story! I enjoyed how Esther was accepted into the family, the pranks Andrew played, Christmas gifts, and the pure love that is tangible in this story!!

Christmas in Amorwich
By: Anneka Walker

“…it isn’t about deserving. It’s about choosing: choosing to love, choosing to forgive, choosing to change. I know I don’t want to make the same mistake twice and spend another year, or even another day, away from you.”

Oh my heart! I loved how Amelia and Noah came together! Though they misunderstood each other for a time, they quickly work through it and they work together to uncover the truth of the Legend of Amorwich. The touch of mystery with this Christmas story is amazing!

Thank you to the authors and publisher for my gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is comprised of four Christmas novellas by four different authors. I really liked the first one (A Caroling Christmas) as Arthur, the reclusive scientist, was so endearing and I liked Eliza’s character as well. There were things I liked about the second story, A Carol So Bright, but Lillian thinking people only loved her for her singing was beyond ridiculous. I didn’t like Esther’s character in Christmas At Bellingham. She was a snob and a know-it-all. I also didn’t like the family conflict. I pretty much didn’t like the characters in the story so it was hard to like the story overall. The last story, Christmas in Amorwich, was a fun read. I didn’t get some of Amelia’s hangups but she was so sweet and her interactions with Mr. Cunningham were awesome. I did like Noah’s character but Mr. Cunningham’s character made the story great. Overall, this was a fun Christmas read.

This lovely book was an absolute delight. All four of these authors are some of my favorites. Each crafting these wonderful novellas full of heart, family, and tying in the Christmas spirit. What I enjoyed most about these novellas was the already established relationships that moved the stories along perfectly and represented so many of my favorite tropes. I even learned to appreciate spiders more in Moore’s fantastic story.

Each story brought a smile to my face and each were so unique, adding the perfect touch of romance and excellent banter with the characters. There’s no way I could pick a favorite of the four.

The perfect historical anthology for Christmas! This is a compilation of four stories written by three authors I’ve read before and one that was new to me. I would give all the stories either four or five stars. They were full of second chances and forgiveness and love and service to others just overall great messages to listen to during Christmas time. I would definitely recommend this one!

What a delight! I love a good anthology, and this one brings the warm fuzzies for Christmas. I was especially delighted to read "Christmas at Bellingham" because I loved Coming Home to Bellingham, and this novella tied up a story thread I cared about. It was so fun to see Esther all grown up with a story of her own!

What a delightful book with three stories that are centered around Christmas.
Each story has a unique twist and quality to make it stand out by itself.
There is Christmas joy, romance and a bit of magic in each of the tales.
I even found a new author amongst the two I have enjoyed in the past!
I highly recommend reading this book and settling in for a cozy read!

This was an excellent collection of Christmas stories! Each one was complete in itself, clean, and uplifting. The theme of music was fun to watch for, and the emotional ensign made listening a grand experience! I listened to this and the narrator did an amazing job, and I could tell who was speaking and what emotions were being experienced by the characters.

This is a collection of novellas from 4 authors and I found it to be an enjoyable read. Each story had its own story to tell and it made for a nice variety. All of them had feel-good elements that go perfectly with the Christmas season. There was romance of course but also, healing in families and befriending the lonely elements as well. Sweet stories.

I loved these novellas. my favorite was Christmas at Bellingham. by far the best one in this collection. it's an Emma retelling done in such a way that truly captures the essence of Emma's character but also the essence of what Christmas should be. I loved the character growth in the characters. truly delightful and inspiring. perfect Christmas read.
