A spicy Pro Football, Best Friend’s Brother, Marriage of Convenience Romance from Amazon Top Ten Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne.
I was supposed to get married on national television. Instead, I was humiliated at the altar and ran straight into bad boy pro football star Dex Bradley. Literally.
He’s my best friend’s grumpy older brother, and he needs a nanny for his surprise baby. I need to salvage my dignity. One fake marriage later, we’ve got a deal.
It’s supposed to be strictly business. He’s off-limits. But when he growls my name and looks at me like he wants to wreck what’s left of my innocence, I don’t want to be the good girl anymore.
He thinks I’m helping him. Between late-night feedings and very inappropriate thoughts, I think I’m the one in trouble.
We agreed to play fake to benefit us both, but now I’m in his bed, in too deep, and one step away from losing everything.

Play Fake (The Bradley Legacy, #2) by Lisa Suzanne
3/5 stars
Unfortunately Play Fake wasn't the book for me. While I can really appreciate all the effort Lisa Suzanne put into it, it didn't connect with my heart and soul at all. I really disliked the male main character and even when he got his redemption arc, he still didn't touch my heart. And the female main character felt really flat too. They didn't shine and I couldn't feel them fall in love. I also felt zero connection between them and the child. Jack, the baby, was there, but it felt like he didn't have a personality at all. I read some raving reviews about this book, so I think this is really a me thing instead of a book thing. Hence the 3 stars.
The set up of the book is amazing. Dex Bradley's life suddenly changes after an ex-girlfriend drops his 6-month old son off because she has to go to jail for two years. He is completely flustered and goes for a run.
Meanwhile Ainsley is participating in a tv show where she is about to marry the main candidate/man Jordan. She says yes, he says no and she runs. She slams into Dex and quite quickly they realize they can help each other. He hires her because she forfeited the show's money for running and he needs a nanny.
Dex is really distant from his son and wants nothing to do with him. He arranges a DNA test to be sure if it even is his son. Dex's father is also trying to draw him into a dark path and he is really conflicted.
Dex struggles with loving his son, he struggles with his feelings for his father and family and he struggles to cope with his blossoming feelings for Ainsley.
It was just so hard to connect with the characters. A part of me really enjoyed the story. But I also felt a huge disconnect. Especially towards Dex. Like I said at the start even his redemption arc felt flat and empty. I never felt him bond with his son. And I even sensed little motherly feelings from Ainsley for Jack. She was just the nanny and I never felt she became his mother. Little Jack deserved so much more.
There were some bright moments in the book. I really enjoyed a certain love scene where I did feel some connection between the two of them. And I liked how Ainsley stood her ground. Though I didn't understand why she didn't take Jack with her. And I really like the scene where something scary happens with Jack healthwise. I felt some sort of sharp feelings from Dex for his son.
It is a fun story. It just lacks depth and unfortunately for me, it lacks a strong main character whom I can connect with.

Fortunate to Beta an early copy and without a doubt DEX is my favorite Bradley!
More of a review to come but you do not want to miss out on this book!
Dex Bradley’s life changes is the biggest way possible and he has to decide if he is going to continue the family legacy, leave it behind or create one of his own.
*ALC review* Okay Dex and Ainsley… I couldn’t turn this off. I had this in my ears every chance I could this weekend. The connection and chemistry from the moment they ran into each other, literally. The communication between the two. The way Ainsley was so patient with Dex and genuinely believed in him when he was thrown a new baby he never knew about. The peeing scene had me cackling. Welcome to fatherhood Daddy Dex! 😂
I loved the growth for Dex and finally standing up to his dad. But man, I hate that man. Then also for Ainsley knowing what it was she wanted and not backing down even if it meant losing it all. I just loved the way their relationship played out and can’t wait to continue this series of the Bradley siblings.
Also, being who I am.. I’m starting the series not at the start! 😂🫣 but I will definitely be going back to read Madden’s story. Then eventually all the other connected series.
Sean Masters and Vanessa Vasquez were great! Thank you Valentine PR and Lisa Suzanne for this ALC!

Play Fake by Lisa Suzanne was such a fun and spicy listen! I really enjoyed the story and the chemistry between Dex and Ainsley. It was nice to see Dex grow and mature throughout the book, something about those Bradley boys! Sean Masters and Vanessa Vasquez did an amazing job narrating.
If you love a good rollercoaster romance with humor and heart, this one’s worth the listen!

I have mixed feelings about this book because honestly, I loved it… but I didn’t adore it, you know what I mean? That weird feeling when you truly enjoy something, but it doesn’t completely sweep you off your feet? Yeah, that’s me right now.
I’m really thankful to the author for letting me read this one. The story itself feels a bit heavy at times —I mean, suddenly finding out you have a child when you’ve always lived freely? That’s a huge change, and one only someone who’s lived it could really understand. But our main guy, Death, handled it so maturely. He accepted it so quickly, and I actually loved that about him.
On the other hand, our heroine is quite young (technically, there’s an 11-year age gap —32 and 21— so you can imagine the clash). Still, I liked how their relationship developed, even though there were a few things I didn’t love about how certain situations were handled.
But hey, they did get their Disney-style happy ending —and who doesn’t love that, right? I adored the baby, the whole marriage-of-convenience setup, and that nanny + single dad dynamic that always hits just right.
And please… the father? I hated him even more than in the first book 😤 absolutely 100%. But I loved how, despite the misunderstandings and a few childish moments from both sides, they managed to grow and find their way through it.
So yeah, this book definitely won me over, even if not completely. Thanks for reading my review
“He’s actually the one who taught me what true love really is. It’s following through. Doing what you say you’re going to do. It’s not just the cliché of being there for each other because sometimes you physically can’t be. But it’s really listening and truly working to understand what the other person needs from you and then giving them that. It’s balancing life but doing it together. It’s having fun with and relying on the one person you feel like you can’t live without.”
Absolutely love this one!!🥺🤌🏻 I mean i had such high expectations from the tropes and it landed very perfectly!!!🤭 The second one in the bradley legacy series. Dex bradley is the reckless and dangerous football player who finds himself in weird situation when he discovers he has a 6 months old kid, and the mother is handing over the custody rights due to certain issues. But he is not built for being responsible, emotional and thoughtful. He stumbles upon a runaway bride who turns out to be his little sister’s best friend , 12 years younger . When these two cuties enter a marriage of convenience , situation unfolds like they never expected and Oh god I love it!! Ainsley Riggs!! The woman she is. Emotional yet very well aware of herself and her needs , and doesn’t hesitate to put into Dex’s face what he needs to hear!! The way she manages her situation with Dex>>>> the way she loves jack!!🥺🤌🏻 Dex’s character development is my favourite part of the story!!🥹 I mean those little efforts. This story perfectly highlights that love doesn’t always resides in grand gestures rather smaller acts of listening, understanding each other’s needs and love language , being there, and on days when you’re not physically with each other, your love makes it easier to be. The story is very calming and soothing in that sense. Loved how they both grow along, talk it out, understand. Also, Loved how Dex responded to his father. Loyalties cannot be brought, it’s supposed to be earned 🥺🤌🏻
He's an NFL bad boy who's been surprised with a secret baby. Dex needs both help with his image and childcare. She's his sister's best friend and she's run away from a humiliating reality tv show. Ainsley needs a place to stay and a job. In keeping with romance tropes, they agree that a fake marriage is the best solution. Except as they live together, get to know each other and care for an adorable baby boy, things change.
The best thing about this book is how both Ainsley and Dex help each other grow and change for the better. At the start of the book, Dex is impulsive and immature. Over the course of the book, he becomes someone who takes care of the people around him rather than taking care of his own needs first. Ainsley begins as a cautious, sheltered innocent. Dex helps her to take some chances and experience joy with him as her safety net. It's fun to watch this couple rub off on each other and evolve from a business arrangement to a real relationship.
Some of the plot twists in the book were over the top and strained credibility. (I had not read book 1 in the series in which Dex's father, a villain in the piece, was introduced. Don't know if that would have made the plot line more believable.)
Fake Play is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The story, the narration, and the tropes were perfection 🫠
Ainsley, our FMC, was running away from the altar after getting rejected in a Love is Blind situation. She runs into our bad boy football player, MMC (Dex). Dex just found out he is a father to a 6-month-old boy, and Ainsley needed a place to stay and a job. The pair are in the spotlight and realized that by having a marriage of convenience, they can solve a lot of problems. They fall in love, and the fake marriage no longer feels so fake.
Both characters had significant growth and moved perfectly with the book's pace. The vibes were light-hearted and funny, but touched on serious subjects. The narration was 🤌🏾🤌🏾. Both narrators did a fantastic job with emotion, and you didn't feel the loss of the other characters in this duel-narrated book.
This is the second book in the Bradley Legacy series and it just keeps getting better and better. This has it all with age gap, bad boy football player, little sister’s best friend and a little surprise as well for Dex and Ainsley. Something fake turns real, real fast. With as many sports romances I have read by this author you would think it could get repetitive…not with Ms. Suzanne because they all have a different take on things that feels original and keeps me wanting for more.
I loved the chemistry between Dex and Ainsley and boy could they burn up the pages. Just how could Ainsley put a better spin on Dex’s bad boy persona. To say this book took me on rollercoaster ride of emotions, isn’t really enough. I was hooked right away with this couple and I cannot wait for the next book to come.
This is the second book in this series, and this is Dex and Ainsley’s story. Dex is a bad boy, pro football player, who has just found out that he is to become a single dad to a baby boy, while Ainsley was supposed to get married on a reality television show, when she is humiliated at the altar, and she runs. Dex is out for a run when he crosses paths with Ainsley, who is his younger sister’s best friend, and he proposes she becomes nanny for his son. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, surprises, secrets, tension, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, close proximity, humour, witty banter, romance, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and light-hearted, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
She’s his little sister’s best friend , Ainsley, and completely off limits! He’s Dex Bradley pro football for The Vegas Aces. He’s not seen her for years, until he runs into her in the street in Vegas, literally! She’s running from a reality tv wedding that didn’t take place when she crashes into Dex. So, what now? She’s just as beautiful as she’s always been, but off limits and 11 years his senior! But something totally out of character for him takes over and he takes her home to stay with him so she can lay low and avoid the backlash! A series of crazy additions to the story muddies the waters so they decide to marry “in name only” to help both of their reps! Another wonderfully written addition to the Vegas Aces series! A FIVE STAR MUST READ!
Dex and Ainsley Age gap (11 years) Single dad Forbidden (little sister’s bff) Marriage of convenience Nanny
Any more tropes I missed!?! Sooo many!!
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️,5 SPICE: 🔥🔥
This is the first time I ever give below 4 stars for Lisa, but this book was just a little too chaotic for me at times to be honest. And I struggled feeling the real connection between these two. Dex seriously needs to seek help. Manchild with serious adrenaline issues…so would have liked him owning that a little more than discovring peace with Ainsley and Jack.
Ainsley although running from life was more grounded than Dex who was 1 1 years older. Sympathized with her not knowing her place, nanny … stepmom … wife or ?? Great she was getting to know the ladies of Las Vegas but again would have liked more time with them together as well.
Runaway Bride + Marriage of Convenience with someone who wasn't originally supposed to be your groom? Count me in! Ainsley knew Dex because he was the older brother of her best friend. Dex finds out he's a dad and literally runs into Ainsley right after and asks her to be his nanny. What's supposed to only be a business deal definitely morphs into something more. But when Ainsley finds out Dex has some secrets, is there any way they can make it work?
Dex was a football player who was constantly looking for an adrenaline high and who knew he would find it in a girl he wasn't expecting? I personally was not a fan of Dex for the majority of the book but he did redeem himself! There was a lot of character growth for him and I loved seeing him step up into the man he needed to be.
🎧Audio:🎧 This was a dual narration by Sean Masters and Vanessa Vasquez. Sean was the perfect Dex, he played the grumpy, reformed playboy perfectly. Vanessa was so good at the innocent Ainsley and they both brought the story to life for me!
What to expect: 🏈Age Gap 💍Best Friend's Older Brother 🏈Surprise Baby 💍Single Dad x Nanny 🏈Runaway Bride 💍Marriage of Convenience 🏈Reformed Playboy
Play Fake releases October 23. Thank you to Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for this ALC!
Jumping into this review, I listened to the audiobook, and Sean and Vanessa did a fantastic job bringing Dex and Ainsley to life. I’d definitely recommend picking it up in this format if you plan to read this story.
Starting with Ainsley, I really enjoyed her character and how she was so different from the women Dex usually brought home. I liked her innocence and how she didn’t hesitate to jump in and help with little Jack.
Dex, on the other hand, was a tough character for me. As a first-time mum to a six-month-old, I understand that becoming a parent can be a huge shock to the system, and in his situation not even thinking about kids just his career and reputation but the way Dex carried on at the start about little Jack honestly gave me the ick. His small tantrums didn’t help either and the lies, I feel Ainsley deserves better to be honest.
At the start they run into each other early on and it didn’t quite sell me on their connection. It was so fast how it all happened and then she’s the nanny. I did enjoy the storyline overall, but I just wish the execution had been a little different for my tastes.

Another winner by Lisa Suzanne! A runaway bride, best friend’s little sister, Vegas almost wedding, age gap, football romance. With plenty of fake to real feelings, taming the bad boy, and growth as life, responsibility, and future all take on new meanings.
Dex and Ainsley give us laughs, heartfelt moments, plenty of chemistry and swoon. It is not smooth ride, this roller coaster has speed bumps as well. I am excited for what and who will come next.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I absolutely LOVED Dex and Ainsley’s story!!! What started out as embarrassment for Ainsley quickly turned into an instant family love. Rex’s life changed quickly overnight and before he knew it, it was for the better. I love the relationship these two developed quickly and learned the true purpose of love and relationship. Jack was the perfect little icing to the cupcake. Super quick really great read!!! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with excellent spice!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
A heroine who evolves from vulnerability to empowerment
Sports setting + family responsibility (baby, dad)
Fake relationships that become real
Good measure of heat + heart
Then Play Fake is a solid pick. If you prefer slower burn, quieter romance, or minimal drama, note that this one leans into the “life turned upside‐down” setup.
This is an amazing book. I loved the romance so much. The playboy reformed and virgin heroine is a tricky trope to do. This book did it so well. I love how kind the hero was. I also enjoyed the single parent. This book is so good go check it out
OK so I’m giving it a 3 because something, really don’t know what, was just missing. I mean I loved it and it was great but it wasn’t a “I can’t put it down” read. Might be because I’m burnt out on sports books right now. I’ll circle back lolol
General vibe: football player, surprise dad, sisters bestie, age gap, millionaire, shady dad Could put it down? Sorta Would I recommend? Eh
I was disappointed that I didn’t like this book as much as I’ve liked her others. The MMC was a huge brat and avoided doing absolutely everything he didn’t want to do. I’m sure writing him that way was on purpose but I could understand why the FMC didn’t ball him on his bs. He would leave the room when he didn’t want to change a diaper for his child knowing that his nanny/sisters best friend would take care of it. It made me want to stop reading it multiple times but I did end up pushing through. The vibe got a little better as it went on but for a 35+ man, he was super immature and it affected being able@to enjoy the other parts of the book for me.
This book was so cute! I love a marriage of convenience, and the addition of failed reality tv was awesome. I really enjoyed this addition to the Bradley Legacy series, and can’t wait for more!
Who doesn’t love a bad boy/good girl age gap story? Dex and Ainsley were a completely unexpected couple but I loved them once Dex finally got his life together.
Ainsley and Jack were the only things that were going to settle Dex, and I loved how that story played out.
The Bradley siblings are such an anomaly when it comes to sibling relationships. They are there for each other, but I wouldn’t call them close, so seeing them slowly begin to work together and stand up to their father together is refreshing.
Tropes Age gap (11 years) Best friends Brother Single dad/nanny Contract marriage Bad boy/ good girl
Dex Bradley is a piece of work. He has no moral compass but the more you know about his parents the more it makes sense. While he is working out in the gym he gets a call from the front desk of his building saying he has a visitor. When he asks the person’s name it's Tawny Jade. A woman he had known well for a few months. He hasn’t spoken to her since he broke things off. She was more invested than he was, he ended it. In less than four weeks, training camp will start, and a new season will begin.
Almost four weeks to live it up before he had to be a good boy again. He’s a part of the Las Vegas Aces Football Team as a defensive end. However, he’s like a puppy who can't keep his brain on one thing for too long. He might have a night here or there with a random woman, but the actual thrill of them wore off a long time ago. When he gets downstairs Tawny is carrying a baby carrier. “You have a kid?” He says. “It’s yours,” she says. She pierces her lips into a thin line. When he broke it off with her, Dex told her he wasn’t interested in commitment.
This is what he meant by that. He tried to throw money at it, and she was not happy with him. Neither was his doorman who has been like a moral compass for him. At that moment he didn't care. He’s afraid to be like his dad. “I want you to step up and take responsibility.” She purses her lips at him. “No can do,” “What do you mean, no can do?” she asks. He needs to do this. “I don’t want your money. I’m not your problem. This kid, however, is.” “There’s, uh, there’s something else.” “What?” She lowers her voice.
“I was caught carrying an unlicensed concealed weapon by an undercover cop.” “So?” he asks. “If it’s your first offense, you should be able to plead that down to a fine. Is that why you’re here? I just said I’d give you money.” She shakes her head. “It’s not my first offense. I need to surrender tomorrow for the next two years.” He sucks in a sharp breath. “I’ll sign over custody rights to you. I’d love to see him again when I get out if you’re okay with that. I won’t try to take him from you. I don’t know what else to do, Dex.”
She whispers the last part through tears. He feels like he’s being pulled in opposite directions. The selfish side of Dex wants to tell her to get out and never come back. He was better off not knowing. The other side of him, the one raised by the man who keeps calling him, wants to step up and be a man. He just doesn’t know if he has it in him. “I’ll have my lawyer draft up a contract. Did you plan on leaving him here with me today?” She nods as she swipes a tear from her cheek. “I have some stuff out in my car. Food, diapers, that sort of thing. And I have paperwork.” “I can send someone out to help,” Milton says, quietly from behind his desk. “Thank you,” she murmurs as she stares down at the baby. Dex sees the love she has for him.
Ainsley Riggs holds Jordan’s hands in hers as she stares into his blue eyes. She didn’t think it would really happen for her. It was her BFF Ivy who signed her up for this reality show and convinced her to do it. Speed to the Altar, a mash-up of different reality dating shows it ends with a wedding, not on her radar. But when Ivy saw the casting call in Chicago, she convinced her to do it. Now she was standing in a Vegas chapel about to marry the man she loves after only four weeks. The wedding dress and all about to say, “I do” to bind them for the rest of their lives.
Crazy, right? She’s only twenty-two, the dating pool in Chicago is slim, she hates her job, and she was bored and wanted excitement in her life. So there she stood. A Cinderella story in the making? Not her, for sure. “Do you, Ainsley, take Jordan to be your husband?” the officiant asked. Ainsley smiled at Jordan, and Ainsley paused as instructed, so the editors could insert an even longer pause for dramatic effect. “I do.” Jordan seems to falter at Ainsley’s words, her goofy grin, and the expression on her face over the total thrill that she fell in love on a reality show.
He’s not smiling back. That should be her first clue. She’s to overcome with her own excitement to notice. “And Jordan, do you take Ainsley to be your wife?” the officiant asks. He presses his lips together, and she’s certain for a beat that it’s that same dramatic pause. But then something shifts in his eyes, and a pit drops into her stomach. “I’m not ready to commit to you for the rest of my life. I’m so sorry. I don’t.” She gasped. Ainsley wasn’t expecting that. At least it’s just us in the chapel, unlike other shows that host weddings for entire families to witness this dreaded moment.
Well, it’s us in here along with the other couples and the production staff. Only the entire world will witness it in a few months when editing is complete and this stupid show airs. The world seems to spin too fast for Ainsley as everyone else in the room reacts with gasps of their own—except for Jordan and maybe like one or two producers who knew it was coming. Now, she’s running as fast as her heels will carry her out of this chapel, through the hotel, and out onto the Strip, where she gulps in fresh air that really isn't so fresh since it’s July in Vegas, and the traffic is heavy and reeks of exhaust.
Ainsley started to run. To where? She had no clue. She’s in an unfamiliar town, and she had no idea where she was going, but she did know she needed to get the hell away from there. Maybe Jordan said it as a joke. He was kind of a jokester that way, but she doesn’t think he’d joke about something as big as I don’t. Regardless, she ran out before he could explain, so maybe she’ll never know. Tears stream down her face, and she knows the producers will want to talk to her. They’ll want her reaction. Ainsley can’t give it.
Not now. She needs a chance to compose herself before they force her into some corner and make her talk about how the guy she said yes to said no to her. Ainsley cried harder, and she ran harder. She spotted two producers, she turned a corner. She had no idea if they saw her or not. And when she turned that corner, she ran into a wall. It takes her a minute to realize it’s not a wall, but a man built like one. He towers over her. “Oh, gosh. I’m so sorry,” she mumbled, and when she backed up, the man took her by the biceps to help steady her.
She gasped again. She recognized him. My God, he’s hotter than the last time she saw him. Pull it together, Riggs. “Dex?” “Are you okay?” “Dex Bradley?” “Yes. I’m Dex Bradley. Do you need some help?” He still doesn’t recognize her, and she sucks in a deep breath as she tries to get the crying under control. “Dex, it’s me. Ainsley Riggs. Your little sister’s best friend.” “Ains?” he says, stepping back and really looking at her. “Jesus. I didn’t recognize you like that. What the f--k are you doing?” “Running away from the altar,” she says a little sheepishly.
She sucked in a deep breath to try to stop panting and regain some composure. “Long story, but I need to get out of here. Can you help me?” “Of course,” he says, and he taps something on his phone and starts walking back in the opposite direction he was traveling when she ran into him. He doesn’t say anything to her, and she’s not sure if she’s supposed to follow behind him or not. “I’m sorry to have interrupted whatever you were doing.” “I was running,” he says. He’s not panting like she was. “So was I,” she says wryly. A car pulls up to the curb on the side street we’re on.
“Get in,” he says, and he gets in beside her. “Where are we going?” Ainsley asks. “Back to my place. Are you going to tell me what’s going on?” Oh, God. I’m going back to Dex Bradley’s place with him? Like this? “Ivy talked me into going on this new reality show that ends with weddings. Oh, God, Dex, this is so mortifying. I just said I do, and the guy I was about to marry said he didn’t, and I took off running. The producers are probably searching the streets for me since they own this dress and I do not, but I can’t face them.
I can’t answer questions in a corner about how I feel. I quit my job to do this. I’ve spent the last four weeks getting to know someone who seemed genuine but turned out not to be. What do I do now?” Ainsley is eleven years his junior. “F-k ’em,” he mutters. “Huh?” “F--k those producers. F--k that guy that said no to you.” He shrugs. “Not in the literal sense. Don’t go have sex with them. But f--k them over the way they f--ked you over. Lie low for a few days, and it’ll blow over.” Watch this man grow into a father, adult, and husband before your eyes. Something that was a long time in the making but took a good woman from home to bring it out in him.
This series is so good! There is sports tied in, but the story doesn’t revolve around it.
If you haven’t read a Lisa Suzanne book before then you need to know how STEAMY her books are 🥵 like there are no boys here folks, these are men and it takes me by surprise (in the best way!!!) every time!!
The story between how Ainsley and Dex meet feels kismet 💕 and the character development is fantastic!
There is an element to these books where the Bradley siblings have gotten mixed up in their incredibly wealthy father’s bad decisions and through finding their person, they also get more confident to stand up for themselves and what’s right. That feels like the ultimate win and I’m here for it!
What do I do when I'm at the altar with the man I love and after saying "I Do" he says "No"…runaway. Running away in a new city with my wedding dress and completely lost only to bump into a wall of a man. This might be the dumbest idea or the perfect plan.
A knock on my door and a run to clear my head... WHAT THE HECK DID I GET INTO? Next Thing I know I'm hit with a bride? Is she the answer to everything or just a crazy vegas fan?
Pro-Football Player Marriage of convenience Surprise Baby Nanny Romance Grumpy/ Sunshine Bestfriends Brother Age Gap
This was a fun, flirty, emotionally charged journey. One of growth, sacrifice, healing and belief as two complete opposites find love where they least expect it. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll be screaming for more as these two fumble their way to forever.
Dexter Bradley. The bad boy player. A Defensive End for the Vegas Aces at the top of his game, this sinfully delicious man does not lack confidence or ego. He's broody, moody, and all shades of grumpy with a temper to match. A bit selfish and very self assured with a devil may care attitude, he's a thrill seeker and adrenaline junkie always looking for his next fix. A loose cannon of sorts. Knowing exactly what he wants and just as equally what he doesn't, imagine his surprise when a former 'acquaintance' shows up with a baby that she claims is his. In an instant his world is turned upside down and just as he begins to spiral, he runs into the one person who may just be everything he didn't know he needed...
Ainsley Riggs, best friend of Ivy Bradley, is on the run! Running from a Vegas wedding chapel after she's jilted at the altar, she runs, quite literally into none other than Dex Bradley. Ivy's older brother. A man that has only gotten better with age, just like a fine wine, and she can't help but shyly stare into his storm filled eyes as her thoughts spiral out of control. Of course, as is her luck, the first time she sees him in years, she would be a crying blubbering mess as she spills about the reality show appearance that just blew up in her face. Embarrassingly mortified, this undeniably sunshiny sweet, wholesome, shy, proud woman needs a moment to figure out the mess of her life and with Dex in a spiral, he may just be the answer she needs.
Hired as his nanny, portrayed as his girlfriend then quickly becoming his wife, Dex & Ainsley are swept up in a whirlwind of their own making... One that could possibly destroy them both. The more time they spend together and their attraction grows, lines begin to blur until one moment they can no longer be seen. Yet, Dex is out of his element, fighting for control. He's feeling things that he's never felt before and he isn't quite sure how to handle them or her. And Ainsley for all her naivety & sweet vulnerabilities, she's anything but stupid. Silently waiting for this Cinderella life to fall apart at the seams, this feisty little sprite of a woman isn't going away without a fight. While she taught Dex to believe in himself in the hardest of times, he taught her to speak up and ask for what she wants and she wants all of him, including the hidden pieces of him. But as she's willing to fight for him, is he willing to fight for her in return?
Ainsley is the calm to his ever brewing storm and battered heart. But can she really tame the bad boy? After all, Dex's rebel tendencies have a way of rearing their ugly head and decisions made without fully considering the consequences may come back and destroy everything he's built since Ainsley & Jack came into his life. Born into a legacy that he never wanted but can't seem to walk away from. One that will potentially destroy him and all that he's worked so hard to build for himself outside of his broken family, where does he turn? As outside pressures close in on them, it'll take all the fight they have to overcome the obstacles standing in their way. Which legacy will he chose? And even then, is it enough? Will she be able to forgive him for the secrets he's been keeping? Will he be able to fix everything that he broke before it's too late?
Like moths to a flame, these two will always find themselves drawn together. They were made for one another and while their road to forever isn't perfect, it's worth every misstep along the way. Every heartache. Every mistake. Every secret, lie and betrayal.
With some very familiar faces, twists, turns and upside downs, you'll be all up in your feelings as these two find their forever. You'll find yourself rooting for them from the very start. Together, they are sweet perfection.
I was honored to receive an ARC of this book and I absolutely loved it. Play Fake by Lisa Suzanne is Book 2 of the Bradley Legacy series. I absolutely loved this book! We briefly met Dex in book 1 and learned he was the wild child of the family, always up for any adventure. He lives in Las Vegas and plays football for the professional team the Vegas Aces. He yearns for the high that various adventures give him. He drives fast, drinks, moves from woman to woman, never wanting to be tied down. Then his life completely explodes. A woman he was with stops by with a baby boy (baby Jack) in tow, claiming the baby is his and that she is prepared to turn full custody over to him because she has to turn herself in for a two year prison stint. Dex is shocked. All he sees is his carefree life disappearing before his eyes. He leaves the birth mother alone at his apartment so she can say goodbye to the baby and goes for a run, where he runs, literally, into our FMC, Ainsley, fleeing down a street in a wedding dress. Ainsley is Dex's youngest sister's best friend and has met Dex a few times, but they don't really know each other. She explains that she has run away from a reality dating show that ended badly for her and needed a quick getaway so Dex drives her back to his house. Ainsley becomes the perfect solution to Dex's problem. He needs a nanny while he figures out what he's going to do with Jack, and Ainsley needs a place to stay so she moves in and begins taking care of Jack. Eventually, Dex and Ainsley enter into a contract for a two year marriage. Dex believes this will solve his image problems, making his agent and NFL team happy, and Ainsley will have something to rub into her fellow contestant's face at the reality show reunion. Their plan to keep things strictly professional doesn't go very well, however, and they fall for each other. Dex falls hard and it's so sweet to read and is written so well. Dex makes lots of mistakes. He's at times very selfish. He's literally never been in a relationship before and his parents are quite toxic (especially his father who creates other problems) and he's never been shown how to discuss feelings or how to deal with disagreements. So to watch him learn how to navigate that and to become the man that Ainsley and baby Jack deserve was awesome. I absolutely loved their love story. It is refreshing to read a flawed MMC who may not always come across as this wonderful prince charming. It made the story more real, more relatable, and watching him learn to be a better person was so rewarding. Their happy ending was heartfelt and hard fought and I loved every second of it. I really loved how both Dex and Ainsley learned to be a couple. Being attracted to each other, falling in love, that was never in question. Once they fell in love, it was sort of a given that they were in fact in love and that was never again in question. But they had to learn all the other things that go into a relationship as well. Communication, compromise, respect, selflessness, putting others before yourself, these are all things that must exist for a relationship to go the distance and watching them, especially Dex, learn this and change to become a better person and to fight for that relationship was so heartfelt and so refreshing to read. Watching him fall in love with his son was also a huge highlight of this book. He begins the story thinking he's going to give Jack away, put him up for adoption, because he wants nothing to do with the responsibility of having a child, But watching him change and grow as a human and fall in love with that baby was beautiful. I highly recommend this book, it is SO good. I cannot wait to read book 3, the teaser at the end has me so excited.
Sports romance is where Lisa Suzanne shine! And this fake marriage best friend brother trope is everything! Now it’s even more when you have Sean Masters as the grumpy bad boy footballer and Vanessa Vasquez as the sweet innocent run away bride in your ears in Duet! Fantastic!

🏈💍🍼
Dexter Bradley and Ainsley Riggs story!
Ainsley💞💍 Thought she was in love after thinking she found her love on a television show..only that person just exploded her world on camera by turning her down. Ainsley literally ran.. right into her best friend big brother, except he sized the opportunity to offer her a job. Babysitting.
💞THIS IS NOT HOW I IMAGINED RUNNING INTO MY BEST FRIEND'S HOT, PRO FOOTBALL- PLAYING OLDER BROTHER.💞
Dexter🏈🍼 Finding out that he’s a father left him in a daze so when his little sister friend ran into him.. while he was trying to outrun his little problem, a baby..that his ex hook up showed up with saying it’s his. He ran with the opportunity to take her as his babysitter and his..girlfriend.. yeah. What could go wrong? What else could his brain or better yet his mouth conjure up? Guess finding out he’s a father is driving him nuts!
💭 Agreeing to a fake marriage that would be beneficial for Dexter and Ainsley, yeah.. win, win, Dex gets a live-in nanny, Ainsley gets to save face after the embarrassing tv reality show. While the more time spent together is the closer they get.
As things heats up between them, there are issue of his commitment to his dad that’s poised to become a major problem..one that will advertently impact his priorities towards Ainsley and his son, his own little family.. This thing that he allowed himself to be caught up in will force him to choose between the family legacy or the future he truly desires.
“Sand paper. why does Sand paper come into course medium and variation of fine? “
(You gotta listen why sand paper is so important and why Dex had a whole dialogue with himself about Sandpaper)!
But Listennnnn 🎧 As I’ve said before… Sean Masters.. SMH… what a performer! He brought The characters to life alongside Vanessa Vasquez who did a fantastic job as well… they were incredibly engaging and entertaining as they brought the story that’s wonderfully written by Lisa Suzanne, a spicy marriage of convenience and my favorite best friend brother trope with a bit of humor and a little bit of drama and I loved it!
💞
Play Fake by Lisa Suzanne is book 2 in the Bradley Legacy series. As stated before this is a spicy, story with a bit humor and of frustration, which let’s be clear is what I’ve come to expect from Lisa Suzanne book. Also In this you get a glimpse of past characters which is expected since this is a legacy series.
I definitely recommend listening this one ☝️

Play Fake is book 2 in the Bradley Legacy series and it is a fantastic edition. Lisa Suzanne just captivates me with her stories and this was no different.. Dex Bradley is a Footballer,a player and now a surprise Dad..When one of his ex hook-ups appears at his house with a baby..His baby..she needs him to take responsibilty, while she goes to prison for a while. Of course he doesn't take it well..I have to admit that at the begining of this book Dex is not a nice guy,he says some horrible things to the mother of his child,I think it is a defense mechanism, but it doesn't paint him in a good light. Ainsley has got herself involved in a reality T.V Show and is about to marry her match on the show but she is rejected and so runs....She runs straight into Dex who is out on a run to clear his head. They know eachother because Dex is her best friends brother and they end up telling one another their dilemmas. This is were Ainsley finds herself becoming baby Jack's live in Nanny and unexpectedly in a fake relationship with Dex that turns into a fake marriage. A marriage of convenience to help them both with their public images..Dex to help his badboy reputation and to please his sponsors who are not happ with all the scandals he finds himself in.For Ainsley it is to stop the embarrassment of being publicly dumped. Plus if she was married to Dex,it would be great to flaunt him at the reunion show. Dex's father though is up to no good and trying to drag Dex into his illegal activities and this could ruin everything. I LOve the change in Dex he becomes a great Dad to Jack,he becomes more responsible and softer,I loved the change in him. What I also loved about Dex and Ainsley is they declare their mutual love and attraction as soon as it happens..There is no messing around and keeping it a secret...and you really feel their affection..They are steaming HOT when together, and fall into a comfortable routine like a proper family. But a secret could destroy it all. The Narration for this story is SUPERB From Sean Masters and Vanessa Vasquez There is no secret I adore Sean Masters and I always enjoy listening to his voice. He is excellent as Dex. Vanessa Vasquez is Fabulous portraying Ainsley, both voice actor made this story even more amazing than it already is. Lisa Suzanne has written another enthralling romance in the world of Football and the Bradley's.. I Loved it. 5 stars.
