Author David Nikel is a British journalist and blogger who moved to Norway in 2011. Since then he's been an avid blogger about the people and places he encounters in Scandinavia. Christmas in Norway is his first booklet for Kindle, and an attempt to begin to answer some of the questions that flood his inbox every day, from all corners of the globe.
I lived in Stavanger, Norway for ten years in the 80’s. This book brought back so many fond memories. It also added a lot to my knowledge that I did not learn. I particularly enjoyed reading about some of the Songs and food although some of it was not favourites. I enjoyed revisiting the story of the jule nisse to compare the author’s information with my somewhat fictional jule nisse in the book, The Farting Four-Toed Troll. I look forward to more of these easy-to-read informational eBooks.
Informative and entertaining! A modern take on Norwegian Christmas traditions, as experienced by a non-Norwegian. Great for anyone curious about Norway, or for Norwegian-Americans wanting updated traditions.
