Rate this book
Octavia never imagined that the man destined to claim her heart would be the one she despised the most.

In a world where bonds are forged not by fate, but by choice, Octavia refuses to settle for a lukewarm connection. But when a violent attack leaves her running for her life, she finds herself face-to-face with the very man she’s spent her life Ronan, the ruthless Alpha of CrescentBlood.

Brought together by force, their chemistry is undeniable—fierce, raw, and dangerous. As she’s thrust into a world of power struggles, dangerous alliances, and a bond she never wanted, Octavia finds herself torn between her own freedom and the undeniable pull between them.

It was interesting enough that I wonder if there will be a sequel, and if she will have to choose between her two forced mates (I hope not) or better yet, choose them both--best yet is forcing them to mate each other so all three are in an equal mating. like Jax, or whatever his name is, shouldnt just be challeneged and die, he should be forced to live with the consequences of that mating, and eventually it turn positive for all 3. Anything else would be boring. Evil harm done, then the party responsible dying in a challenge is done all the time. Evil guy forced to pay by living and reap the long term consequences is actually interesting. He made the choice, and i was left wanting to see it out. Where she has 2 mates, and they have to learn to exist, (hopefully between all 3).

That ending was interesting where most of the book was boring. I read the first 1/3 then skimmed the rest until the end. Because it raised the stakes. It has potential, but it's what the author does with that potential that would make or break a sequel for my (ridiculously high) standards.

I did see the standard betrayals as i skimmed. But the first 1/3 was interesting, even though i wanted Mr Growly smitten from the get go. I kinda got bored when she formed more of a bond with the females around her. And I saw they never mated.

I don't know what possessed that Jax (whatever his name is, it was weird) guy to do what he did, but I'm here to see why. Why he kidnapped her. Why he bit her. And of course a non easy resolution to the double mating (i want to see it in earnest, as I said, and then develop into a strong triad. This includes Jax not getting the easy way out and reformation) I also want to see how the bond he forced changes him, what unexpected consequences. i think there's potential, I really do. That hopefully arent as boring in the exploration as this book was in majority for me.
