Thin Ice (An Enemies to Lovers Hockey Romance)

Rate this book
He’s a PR nightmare with an NHL-sized ego and a body built for sin. On the ice, he's a god. Off the ice, he's a scandal waiting to happen.

Kristi Ward is a PR professional on the verge of a major promotion. Her rehabilitate the image of hockey’s biggest bad boy, Barton Fenner. It should be simple—micromanage his life, script his apologies, and keep him away from anything flammable or female. But Barton isn't just a client; he's a walking, talking temptation who seems to enjoy pushing every one of her buttons.

Late-night strategy sessions crackle with a chemistry that’s impossible to ignore, blurring the line between professional and personal with every stolen glance. He sees her as a challenge he’s determined to win, but as Kristi glimpses the vulnerable man behind the bravado, she realizes she’s the one in trouble.

Giving in to the scorching heat between them could cost Kristi her entire career, while for Barton, falling for the one woman hired to keep him in line is the most reckless play of his life.

Thin Ice is a steamy, standalone hockey romance. If you love a hot-mess hero, a heroine who gives as good as she gets, and enough forbidden, off-limits tension to melt the entire rink, you’ll love Barton and Kristi’s story.

“It’s okay to be scared. It’s not okay to let fear make your choices.” 🥺

3,5 ⭐️ I was so sure it was going to be a four star read, however the last 25% just disappointed me a bit.

I love reading a badboy is actually golden retriever but just scared, which is exactly how you can describe.

Some parts felt like a personal attack and hit a bit too close to home, also got some free therapy from it. The spicy/smut wasnt spicing/smutting tho….. having said that the tension and slowburn!!!!!!!

Alsooo why has no one read this book?!? It was free on amazon and definitely worth the read!

Here are some of my fave quotes be careful can contain spoilers:

“Because why would they be? I learned early that I was the smart one, not the pretty one. The reliable one, not the exciting one. The friend, not the girlfriend.”

“You’re so convinced you don’t deserve happiness that you’re actively running from it.” 😩😭

“Basically, I’m a walking collection of coping mechanisms dressed up as a functional adult.”

“She’s just scared of being happy.”
