Ms Grace’s writing is still way too detailed. We don’t need to know every ingredient in every meal or every step in helping someone into a car. However, this #2 in the series is better than #1 was.

I like that her main characters are older and have common sense and aren’t into “secrets,” etc.

Her plots are also realistic.

Looking forward to her writing progress and her Friday Harbor series.

Where do I start? I absolutely love this series! I want to move to Friday Harbor!! It seems like such an idyllic place. The residents are so friendly and there for each other no matter what, I just love that. Some may think that there is too much detail in this book, but I thought it was wonderful how Tammy explained everything, it made me feel I was right there with Linda, Max, Sam, Jeff, Regi, Jen, and all the rest of the great characters in this story. I read the first book, Finding Home, but I enjoyed Home Blooms even more. Now I am looking forward to a Promise of Home. I just can’t get enough of Friday Harbor, please Tammy, write more about Friday Harbor after Promise of Home.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

It's refreshing to read about romance the second time around... As in the " golden years. " It was nice that Sam and Jeff's story continued and tied in with Max and Linda. I recommend this series to seniors who still love reading romance novels. Well written and well edited.

Okay

This book is the same as the first book in this series. Okay characters and dogs but no excitement. Throwing in the attempted murder and suicide, in my opinion, didn't add anything extra.

Too much lovey dovey, here take this, sure live with us. A few people might be like that but seemed quite unbelievable. Everyone also had to much money. Also, some similar names and too many people appeared at the same time so hard to keep track who was who.

The 2nd in this absolutely delightful series set on San Juan Islands off the West Coast of the USA. A series of books about ladies who have had a hard life, nearing middle age and starting to live life again. I have fallen in love with the characters and cant wait to read the whole series.

This book features Linda, owner of the flower shop and nursery on the Island. She was engaged at a young age but her husband to be had a fling with a woman in the Island who took delight, and still takes delight in breaking up relationships. After breaking off her engagement, Linda threw herself into her business and never had time for a relationship. She's just successfully provided the flowers and venue for Sam and Jack's wedding (from the previous book) and this is her story.

Max, a top Cardiologist and best friend of Sam is deciding to move to the island after seeing his best friend so happy, a certain flower shop owner had caught his eye. After losing his beloved wife to cancer a few years previously he wasn't sure love would come his way again, could it happen again? After working closely with Linda for Sam's wedding he wonders if he has a chance with her?

This book has it all - a secret about to unfold, a tragedy, and, of course, romance.

The books in this series are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

I knew it was just not my cuppa, but was hoping for more drama here. And there's drama, but I didn't like how the stories were just too much about Sam/Jeff and not enough about Max/Linda.

Sam and Jeff decide to marry just two months after he proposes. And Linda and Max end up putting the wedding together. Which is how they fall in love. I think. There's just too much about what things look like. It's like the author was afraid to explore deep feelings here.

As a reader, we learn WAY TOO MUCH about the daily lives. Still too much detail about every meal -- what they had for breakfast and dinner and where they went and what they had for lunch. And garlic bread is served at every dinner. I shouldn't know this. WHY do I know this?? And still nothing about what makes these two tick except that they fall in love. The story involving Brenda --- which should be HUGE -- is so anticlimactic that it's disappointing.

At least Max and Linda get it on a little bit (nothing dirty at all), but the naivete is astonishing.

Second book in the Hometown Harbor Series was a great addition to the series

This book continues beautiful descriptions of scenery and food. The main characters are a bit older and have lost the lives of their lives. Can they find happiness a second time around?

Life goes on for the characters Jeff & Sam and Max & Linda.

Max and Linda work together to help plan a dream wedding for Jeff and Sam, happy to see their friends get a seco d chance at love. After Sam’s wedding to Jeff she seems set for a happily ever after until a serious accident poses a roadblock to the happy couple.

Linda unravels some secrets about her childhood.

Newcomer Regi comes to town seeking redemption love and is immediately embraced by the kind hearted members of Friday Harbor.

Sam’s bookstore and coffee shop continues to be a success in the town.

Great continuation of book 1!

Linda is happy to have Sam's best friend Max help her get the nursery and gardens ready for Sam and Jeff's wedding. Linda has been alone for a long time with just her dog Lucy and Max is a wonderful and patient man. Then two accidents happen and everything becomes much more difficult for all of them. The accidents bring Linda and Max together and are a true test for Sam and Jeff. Read this to see what happens. You need to read this series in order, and I would start with the shorter prequel, before books 1 and 2.

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has some kisses and suggestions but no steamy details. The characters are vibrant and engaging, including the dogs. You see lots of familiar characters from book 1 and meet some new ones. Enjoy!

Linda & Max

Sam and Jeff get married at Linda's Nursery Garden. Max helps her set up the wedding. Trying to put things away at her nursery, Linda trips and breaks her ankle. Two days later after a short honeymoon, Sam and Jeff are riding bikes when a red car tries to run them down. Jeff tries to protect Sam, and takes the brunt of the force. He's life lined to Seattle with a brain injury. Max takes care of Linda at Sam & Jeff's house, but decides to move to the island and work at the hospital. He goes house hunting and finds one and puts an offer on it. Jeff progresses very slowly, and has to learn things all over again. Max asks Linda to move in with him and Linda sells her house.

Loved reading this 2nd book in the series and it is even better than the first. The characters' lives are even more entwined and new ones introduced with new relationships. Having a former foster brother who is a doctor and lives on Friday Harbor makes this story even more interesting to me, as I have been to so many of the places in the story, including taking a tour of the hospital. Friday Harbor is really a small town and it shows when you are there and fun to read about. I have ordered the 3rd book and am currently enjoying reading the continuing story. if you have ever been to Friday Harbor you will love this story,

Joy and blessings

I can't get enough of hometown Harbor. I like how everything is so detailed, as if your right there taking in the sights. A tragedy turns into a bitter sweet outcome. The characters are brilliant as the story weaves together a magical romance of new beginnings and friendship. This book is like a warm cup tea. I loved it and highly recommend. Grabbing the next book.

An awesome story

This is my second book by Tammy Grace. She's a talented storyteller. The range of characters and plot twists and turns kept me engaged throughout the book. There's plenty of drama all built on realistic families in a small town. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Lovely people.

Heartwarming story. What I didn't like was the amount of time spent on so many details. Also I couldn't believe that a doctor could have and encourage such an extremely unhealthy diet. I'd like to know what happens to Remi, but I don't think I can plow through another tedious book.

So enjoyable

I was on the ferry from Victoria back to Washington when we stopped at Friday Harbor. I opened my iPad and the next book to pop up in my library was Book one of the Hometown Harbor Series. I could hardly believe the coincidence. I loved both books 1 and2 and can hardly wait to read the entire series. So well written and hard to put down.

Home Blooms

This is the second in Hometown Series of Tammy Grace. There is a continuation of character featured in book 1. There is some drama, but most of the story is descriptive of the characters and their lives. One gets a wonderful picture of what is happening in their lives. I would recommend reading this series and I am ready to start book 3 to see what is happening.

Linda

Sam and Jeff was a great book but, I thought Linda and Max was long and nothing but describing every great and turn. It was a bit boring. And what's !ore do people party all the time or do they take break and stay by themselves once in a while. Too long. Not enough intrigue.

Excellent

The story keeps getting g better and better. I say like the characters from the last book having a chance to further their lives along with the new love story. Also it is no e that the couple's sleep together but we don't have to read about their love life.

Sweet and simple

Easy reading. Good series to get away from the serious stuff. Lots of characters to keep track of and some very surprising events. Sometimes a little too sweet but enjoyable.

Home Blooms

What a snazzy title to a story about a florist. Not to mention all the names of plants and flowers, some I have never heard of. Great back drop for a wedding and all things rosy. This edition is very fetching and new love on the horizon.

A great read

What a beautiful story that gives two people a second chance for love later in life. A sweet, clean romance, with old characters and new in the series. It's settings are beautiful and it's well written.

Max & Linda find love

Jeff & Samantha get married but it soon turns to drama when Jess is hit by a car on his bike. Max & Linda have started dating before the wedding. When she hurts her ankle the day after the romance heats up when she has to stay at Samantha’s house.
