EPM exists to meet the needs of the unreached, unfed, unborn, uneducated, unreconciled and unsupported people around the world.
"My ministry focus is communicating the strategic importance of using our earthly time, money, possessions and opportunities to invest in need-meeting ministries that count for eternity," Alcorn says. "I do that by trying to analyze, teach and apply the implications of Christian truth."
Before starting EPM in 1990, Alcorn co-pastored for thirteen years Good Shepherd Community Church outside Gresham, Oregon. He has ministered in many countries, including China, and is a popular teacher and conference speaker. Randy has taught on the part-time faculties of Western Seminary and Multnomah University, both in Portland, Oregon.
Randy is a best-selling author of 50 books including Heaven, The Treasure Principle and the 2002 Gold Medallion winner, Safely Home. He has written numerous articles for magazines such as Discipleship Journal, Moody, Leadership, New Man, and The Christian Reader. He produces the quarterly issues-oriented magazine Eternal Perspectives, and has been a guest on more than 650 radio and television programs including Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, The Bible Answer Man, Revive Our Hearts, Truths that Transform and Faith Under Fire.
Alcorn resides in Gresham, Oregon with his wife, Nanci. The Alcorns have two married daughters, Karina and Angela.

Read in my church small group, this raised lively discussions but mostly about how bad the writing was. The book is organized in terms of thoughtful and inspired questions, then a few Scriptures with questionable link to the question, then discussions that oven leap wildly away from even that, logging huge page counts for questions that don't seem to matter and answering things like "Is Hell real?" in just a couple pages. I suspect the bigger volume is better, but not by much...

Biblical & Delightful
Be encouraged when you think of heaven! But also be aware that this volume, though it has the same cover, is not Alcorn's book on heaven; it's an abridged, Q&A format on the same subject. Recommended.

Scripture Tells Us What To Expect
Mr. Alcorn uses Scripture to tell us what Heaven will be like. Nobody really knows what heaven will be like, but Scripture gives us some glimpses and we can make some educated assumptions.

The good thing about this book is there are many Bible verses. However verses were taken out of context throughout the book. Not a book I would recommend.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Heaven is a great little book by Randy Alcorn. It is an edited version of his much larger and more in-depth book, Heaven. Though small, it is packed with information and Scripture verses! If you want to learn about Heaven, this book will be a good resource to help you study what the Bible says about Heaven.
Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Heaven is broken into five parts:
- Part I: The Present Heaven
- Part II: The Eternal Heaven
- Part III: Life on the New Earth
- Part IV: Can You Know You’re Going to Heaven?
- Part V: God’s Promises about Heaven
In Parts I and II, Alcorn uses Scripture to answer questions such as:
- What is the “present Heaven”?
- Do people in the present Heaven see what is happening on Earth?
- Where do we get our misconceptions about Heaven?
- If “no eye has seen” Heaven, how can we know about it?
- Is Heaven our default destination…or is Hell?
- Will the old Earth be destroyed…or renewed?
- How will we worship God in Heaven?
In Part III of the book, Alcorn shares what we can know from Scripture about various parts of life on the New Earth. He writes about topics such as angels, animals, clothing, pets, sleep, work, and much, much more!
Randy Alcorn shares the Gospel in Part IV. Can you know for sure if you are going to Heaven? The answer is yes, you can! God clearly tells us in His Word how we can be saved from our sin so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
Part V of the book contains promises from God’s Word about Heaven. This section will help to guide your thoughts to relevant Scripture verses when you are worrying or having doubts about Heaven.
Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Heaven is an excellent resource. This little book will help you to dig into God’s Word to see what it teaches about Heaven, the New Earth, and eternity. If you have time and energy to read the larger version, Heaven, I highly recommend it. However, if you can only read a short book, this is the one for you.
One thing that has helped me to be content in living with a disabling chronic illness is learning about Heaven and the joy that awaits believers there. This has made it so much easier to let go of my dreams for this life as I look forward to the life to come. If you have never taken the time to learn about Heaven, I think you will find that studying what the Bible says about Heaven will be very much worth your while!
