Keyla Hunter spent over a decade flitting between careers as a lawyer and communications strategist. With a passion for all things creative, she escaped from the corporate rat race to pursue her love for writing fiction. She enjoys creating vivid settings, exploring the many shades of the human psyche, and capturing the voices of her imaginary friends, who regularly whisper in her ear.
Keyla lives with her husband and two children in Melbourne, Australia and would love to hear from you.
I really wanted to like this book more than I did. The story element seemed ok for a book of this sort. There was a lot of promise is the first quarter or so of the book that, unfortunately, wasn't realised. That being said it was a perfectly good time-filler of a book.
My main issue, aside from a reasonably well telegraphed culprit, was that I spent most of my time wishing I could reach into the book and shake the main character. I have rarely read a more childish depiction of a supposed heroine in my life. I don't know if there was any intent on the part of the writer or if this is how she is herself, I would hope that the former is true. She comes across as sulky, temperamental and immature. Almost like she was supposed to be a mid-teen rather than the 20-something in a management position that she is sold to us as. In reality, anyone acting as she does in this story would not last a week in her job, let alone be as loved by her employer as we are told she is.
I know that suspension if disbelief is important in storytelling and story-reading but this just felt too far out there and grated too much.
My rating is more for the disappointment than anything else.
A cozy mystery set in a fancy resort. Of course, the victim and associates were what you would expect for the rich and famous. Tracy was so determined to prove her friend innocent that she acted recklessly.
terrible writing. Things happen with no lead up. Why would someone who is not a detective does somes of the things TRACY does. NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO HOW POLICE enter at the end. A waste of time reading.
Too predictable, but easy reading for the beach or a snowy winter day, Tracy Turner is a likable sleuth not quite Miss Marples, but in the same category!
This certainly merits its description as a cozy murder mystery. Tracy Turner casts aside her day job to play amateur detective when a friend is accused of murder. She deftly negotiates the creel of red herrings and as the body count rises she puts her life at risk on more than one occasion before uncovering the real killer. The supporting characters were too 'Hollywood' for my taste, with predictable flaws, marital issues and money problems. I was ticking off the 'usual suspects' just like I did when I watched an episode of a Quinn Martin TV production. Despite that I wanted to get to the end to find out who did it and I suspect many other readers will enjoy this easy to read book.
I received this book for free for an honest review. This sure isn't your normal golf and spa resort. Between murders and mayhem Tracy seemed to keep putting her foot in trying to prove she's a good detective.Thre were twists and suprises as well as the caring between her and her boss/owner of the resort.Throughly describes her characters as she enages into a new portion of the who did it.Well written and one that will keep you wondering on who really did it. I enjoyed it and will look for more of her books.
Get ready for a fun read as you meet Tracy Turner, amateur detective, and follow her reasoning as she attempts to solve two murders proving her best friend Ryan innocent. Thanks for letting us get to know you Keyla. Can't wait to see what is going to be the next one.
This book is a fast, easy read and the characters are interesting. It grabbed my interest from the beginning and I hated to put it down. I love a good clean mystery/thriller (no foul language, sex or violence) and wasn’t disappointed with this author's book. I'm looking forward to reading Ms. Hunter's next book.
Seems to me that Brett and the police might've worked as hard as Tracy did. Brett seemed to want to solve the crime. But she didn't let him do his job. She had too many skills to be believable. Feet tough enough to run in the woods, computer and knowing how to use the tapes. Breaking and entering, psychology, and so chef knowledge.
A good mystery. Tracy Turner has just started a new job as head of PR for a resort. Now Frank Walters, a professional golfer, has been murdered and Tracy's best friend Ryan has been framed for it. Determined to prove his innocence Tracy investigates to make sure the police catch the right killer and set Ryan free. * I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The guy is arrested for murder before anyone knew there was a murder, no police or ambulance or questioning anyone. A guy is pushed off a bridge and no one mentions it afterwards. I kept thinking it would get better but it didn't.
I recieved this book in exchange for a review. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I have never read any books by Hunter before but plan to read more.
