This is the first Warhammer book of any kind that I've ever read. A coworker gave me this after I expressed interest in learning the lore.

This is a small book that adds some additional lore to the Black Templars faction as well fleshing out their rules of play.

I didn't particularly care for the gameplay elements but the lore was really interesting. I've been in orbit around the Warhammer community for a long time via Reddit and one thing I've heard a lot about is this faction and the people who often gravitate toward it. For those who may not be aware, basically every faction in this universe is fascist to some degree, and the lore (though there are a few generally good characters) is basically entirely an over the top parody of fascism that no one could possibly take seriously, or at least that was the idea. This particular faction is quite possibly the most fascist of them all, and is unrepentantly so. It makes for an entertaining read but I definitely get why it has such an unflattering reputation within the community.
