With the memories of the events from Lagos breathing down his neck, Noel is on edge. He can’t seem to forget about the past, but he can’t shake it off either, not with the Pack Division Agent continuing to beat down his door looking for the answers to questions Noel’s not ready to discuss. For the protection of his family, Noel needs to get out of Collins, and fast. But an unlikely pair of allies becomes all that stands between him and the threat that’s followed him.

As Keegan and Ellie learn to deal with Noel’s absence, things take another turn toward the strange when Daniel reveals that he’s found out about a “family” secret. That little mystery sends the three of them in search of answers, helping to take their mind off their missing sibling.
But will it land them in more trouble than they can handle, and how does it tie into the information Juli and Gus uncover about the still unsolved identity of “729” and his connection to the Summerford family?

From ghosts and ghouls to werewolves and vampires, there's nothing strange about growing up in New England. Mythology and legends tend to run wild in most parts of the Northeast, and when you're raised with it, you tend to draw on it for inspiration. Ghost stories have always been part of childhood, but what happens when those stories follow you around? You write about them of course. Dawn takes life in the mountains, and twists it into her own. Most recently doing so with "The Pack," a dive into the hidden world of a people not unlike us, who hold a secret... their relation to the legendary werewolves of old. This book series came along from a ten-episode season written for TV, and has taken on a life of it's own.

Myth is the kind of book that quietly pulls you in and then refuses to let go.

Dawn Gray’s writing is immersive, and brings every scene to life without overcomplicating it. Her pacing is just right—never rushed, never dragging—and the emotional undercurrents are subtle but powerful. It’s clear she knows exactly what she’s doing.

What really stood out to me was the character development. The main characters are written with a depth and authenticity that makes them feel real, flawed, and genuinely compelling. You can see the care Gray puts into their evolution, and it pays off beautifully. Relationships are handled with perfectly, and even side characters feel thoughtfully crafted.

I won’t spoil anything, but if you’re a fan of books that blend strong storytelling with emotional resonance, this one belongs on your shelf. Highly recommend to readers who appreciate well-developed characters and a writing style that flows like water.
