As a fellow author, and self-proclaimed fandom geek and comic book enthusiast, I always find myself paying attention not just to the story being told, but to the craft behind it. Minds Echo carries sincerity. It’s a story written with care, with curiosity about identity, power, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. And that is reflective, in many ways of the LGBTQ journey.
It’s not easy to write characters you can connect with, esp in broader fantasy/action/sci-fi dramas, but the author blends is an expert at blending a grounded human experience in with psychic abilities, making it feel both big story expansive, while maintaining an intimate personal empathy for Calvin, creating a warmth to his storytelling.
That’s something readers don’t always consciously name, but they feel it and it’s what keeps me turning pages.
From one author to another, this feels like the beginning of a creative voice that’s still unfolding in exciting ways. There’s vision here, and more importantly, there’s heart. I’m always rooting for stories and storytellers who are trying to build something a little different, and Minds Echo absolutely does that.
