Protect your family. Save your friend. Buy your freedom.
For nine years, this has been Seren Clare’s only goal.
But when a deadly mistake thrusts her into the Fae Realms—accused of murdering a Fae Lord—everything changes.
On the run with her sister and best friend, Seren is forced to trust five mysterious Fae soldiers, including the enigmatic Eiran, whose loyalty may come at a cost. As they journey through magical lands and face down deadly creatures, a new danger emerges—one that threatens not only her life, but her heart.
Torn from her loved ones in a brutal ambush, Seren finds herself in Terra Sola, a hidden Fae city cloaked in illusion. Disguised by risky magic and trained by the infuriating yet magnetic warrior Astrophel, Seren begins to question everything she thought she knew—about the Fae, her past, and herself.
But when the chance to save her family resurfaces—at the risk of everything she’s built—Seren doesn’t hesitate. Because freedom has a price. And love might be hers… if she’s willing to fight for it.
Elvie is a UK-based romantasy and urban fantasy author who loves writing emotionally rich, character-driven stories with grit, magic, and heart. Her debut novel, To Save the Few, blends brutal worldbuilding, slow-burn romance, and powerful themes of sisterhood, survival, and the blurred lines between good and evil. When she's not crafting worlds where fae and mortals clash or vampires stalk the streets, she's working in events at a university, wrangling spreadsheets by day and plot twists by night.
Outside of writing, Elvie lives in a happily chaotic home with her puppy, three mischievous cats, and an extremely zen tank of fish. She’s autistic, proudly neurodivergent, and passionate about creating stories where outsiders find belonging, power, and love—often in the most unexpected places.
You can usually find her daydreaming about her next book, sipping too much tea, or whispering sweet nothings to her plot bunnies.
Wow, this book is fantastic. It had me gripped from the start, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Seren was everything I wanted in an fmc, and omg the ending 😲 I need there to be a book 2, and I need it tomorrow! 6 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 read for me absolutely recommend.
This was my first proper fantasy read ever. I normally really struggle to get into them but I was recommended this book and decided to give it a go. I was hooked. It was amazing but I am struggling so much right now not having more of it!
Thank you to Elvie Grace for the complimentary ebook.
⭐⭐⭐⭐½
To Save The Few is a tumultuous story of romance, deception, magic, inherent worth, and feminine rage.
Seren, our FMC, is an impulsive yet intelligent human in the Fae realm. When her world is turned upside down due to a murder at court, she goes on the run with a group of Fae men, her sister, and her human best friend.
Exploring the realm alongside Seren is invigorating, though her experiences with a certain love interest are infuriating. (I was team burn it all to the ground but I guess Seren is less impulsive than I am when it comes to being treated right.)
I fully enjoyed getting to know each character, seeing everything from Seren's human perspective, and trying to read between the lines to understand motivations.
One of the twists absolutely caught me off guard, and I can't wait to read book two.
A very strong debut fantasy novel! This book takes lots of classic elements of Fae race and fantasy realms but reimagines them in an innovative new way with fresh ideas too. You're really immersed in the main character Seren's world, fully feeling her bewilderment, tenacity, missteps and strengths through the storytelling. I won't give too much away but the final few chapters will have you reaching for book 2, 'What Remains Of Us'.
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe that this is a debut. It is incredible, with twists and turns and hidden stories. I had so many theories throughout this and some were correct, whilst other reveals simply blew my mind.
Elvie Grace has created a book that is magical, yet gritty, with characters who are lovable and yet flawed. The found family in this book is done really well and i find myself attached to and rooting for so many different characters. Seren, the FMC, really goes through it and her desire to care for others and protect them is so heartwarming. She does make some questionable decisions and choices, but hey, shes human. I adored her inner monologue and chuckled out loud a few times.
There are characters in here that i wanted to slap and others that i wanted to hug and sometimes it was both. There were also moments which were brutal and i was almost reduced to tears. I am so excited to read the next book when it is released.
I enjoyed this one because it was refreshing to read a journey of a woman that wasn’t a romance. This story is about her journey of survival and a path the leads to revealing a truth. This Fae world was easy to follow and I felt very immersed in it. I love that it was filled with other magical creatures. I want more stories of strong woman who are flawed and make mistakes but choose courage and strength. I love a good plot twist ending filled with secrets and betrayal and this one delivers.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I DNF-ed this on page 20. The reason I write this review here is that I think it's important to.
If I in any way shape or form paid for this book and got writing and formatting that's identical to fanfication, I'd be beyond disappointed. Also, right off the bat swear words seeped in. "Fuck" is featured 5 times on page 1 alone. The word bitch is on page 7 and then on page 10... And it only continues in the spirit, constat swearing that's excessive - coming from someone who also uses profanities daily. I don't want them in my books - it speaks of poor taste and writing. Gave me an instant ick and I had to put it down. The only nice thing is the cover. I would not recommend.
i absolutely INHALED this book. seriously. i don’t know that i’ve ever read a 500-page book THAT quickly. it had absolutely everything i want from a fae book: different types of fae, different powers, warring courts, and evil queen, headstrong, foolish girls (iykyk), betrayals, and giant, show-stopping fights.
but it also had things i didn’t even think i could want!! familiars (cool af ones, too), intriguing magic systems, different races of magical people, and bloodline magic!!!! how can you turn any of that down???
the vibes for this one were immaculate. seriously, this was such a joyride of a read. i was having the absolute best time the entire time. LOVED it. brava, elvie 👏
3.73 rounded up! I read this book in a few days and very much enjoyed the overall FAE vibe and new takes! yes some of the storyline is similar to what’s in the market now, but there was quite a lot of freshness there.
I would love to see this world explored a bit more. Will there be a book 2? Would love to learn more about her sister, the familial magic, the smaller creatures, the familiars and goodness the love story too…. A lot of this could be opened up and I would def dive into it.
Well done on a debut that read fast, kept me guessing and has me ready for more of the world!
The book took a while to get into, there were a few errors where a word was missing or spelt incorrectly which kind of threw me off. I liked the idea of the storyline, very creative for a debut novel.
Elvie Grace has crafted a story that’s equal parts breathtaking worldbuilding and chaotic, raw internal dialogue. The pacing is fast and immersive, but Elvie knows when to slow the story down and let a scene breathe—giving us moments that linger at just the right moment.
At times, I found myself racing through chapters where little “happened” plot-wise, yet I still felt like I’d been carried through a roller coaster of emotion and discovery.
Yes, there are a handful of editing hiccups—but the strength of the plot and the heart of the characters easily outshine them. Seren, in particular, is unforgettable. She’s gritty, hardened, and flawed, sometimes lovable, sometimes infuriating—but always compelling. Beneath that exterior, you can feel something luminous fighting to break free.
The supporting cast is just as strong. The best friend banter sparkles, the “why choose” tension among the male leads adds irresistible friction, and Seren’s found family quietly steals the show as the low-key MVP.
One of my favorite aspects is the imagination poured into the world itself. From whimsical fae horses and mischievous sprites to the grounding presence of fireflies, Elvie’s original species and creatures feel both magical and lived-in.
And the ending is perfect. It ties up this arc beautifully without cheapening it with cliffhangers, still leaving space for another adventure.
What to expect: Enemies to lovers • Found family • He falls first • One bed/one horse • Sisterhood • Strong FMC• Different worlds •
I enjoyed this book; it's a nice easy read.
We follow our FMC Seren, after a mistake has her sent to the Fae realms, accused of murdering a Fae Lord. Along with Seren her sister Margot and her best friend Angelica were also taken. They go on the run through magical fae lands with 5 mysterious fae soldiers. Along the way come across deadly creatures and face quite few obstacles.
I enjoyed Serens character. She is fierce and courageous. She puts the people close to her first at all times. Willing to sacrifice herself to save them.
Our MMC Astrophel, I loved him. He is very mysterious and moody until you get to know him, then you see he is respectful and very protective of those who are important to him.
The tension in this book was great 👏🏽
Not too much world building in this book, it's very character driven. And I enjoyed the characters.
The writing was immersive and easy to read.
The plot was interesting and kept my attention, fast paced towards the end with some high-stakes situations.
WHAT was that ending.... no!! What a cliffhanger..
Can't wait to dive into book 2.

I can’t even express how much I loved this book!!!!!
I bought this from a book fair trying to support indie authors and absolutely loved Elvie’s vibe so picked up the book not expecting to be blown away! How wrong was I!
I can see that the author took inspiration especially from ACOTAR! With the courts (summer, spring, winter, night etc) and also with the fae realm and the human realm. But I don’t feel like this was copied and pasted and rather just taken inspiration! I loved the storyline and I loved the familiars. I also loved the very slight love triangle - if anything I wanted a bit more of it!
If I was to “fault” anything it would be that I really would have loved the guys povs (Eiran and Astrophel’s). I need to know why Eiran changed so much when he got home as he seemed really angry. I also need to know what happened with the women from the mating ceremony when he told Seren to go back to the room!
So when is the next book coming out because I need it ASAP!!! Like is Astrophel, Serens mate? 👀😏
I enjoyed the read. It was quite simple, but I didn’t mind. It is the kinda book what you don’t have to overthink, sometimes don’t even have to really pay attention, just sit back with a hot tee and enjoy the story. There were some parts though which felt like a repetition. Like, okay, I get it you are a human in a fae world and everyone is using magic. But I kinda felt that our fmc is a bit dummy sometimes. I mean, it was quite obvious sometimes what is going on, she was the only one who didn’t fogure it out. Te world building is rather basic, we don’t learn so much about the world, and not even about the background of our fmc, not even at the end, where she learns where she is actually from. I think it is a nice book, and if it gets a sequel I will probably read it, but it was also not the best I read in this category. I still give it a 4 star, because it did what it promised, it made me escape from reality into another world and just have fun.

4.75 stars 🌟 rounded up 💕 I loved this book. It took a few chapters for me to get into but once it hooked me, I couldn’t put it down. The world building was done well, the writing immersive, and there was a good rhythm to the pacing. Written in first person, the story follows Seren, the strong and chaotic FMC, as she fights for the people she loves and gets thrown from one unideal situation to the next, while also trying to work out which Fae she can trust. The slow burn was spectacular and the banter had me giggling and kicking my feet. I’m obsessed with Astrophel, he is perfection. While I predicted some parts of the ending (and was thrilled to be right), the parts I didn’t guess were insane and had me losing my mind. Such a wonderful book!
Massive thank you to the author for the free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, as this book has recently had a re-edit
To save the few had me enamoured from the very start. I really loved the world building and the initial setup. The book in general was so eventful that I read for hours at a time.
The suspense I was feeling as the storyline started to unfold was intense. I could feel the tension building up and was eagerly waiting to see how it would suddenly explode!
There were so many elements to this book that I adored. Especially all the little characters and fantasy creatures. It was super interesting to read about them and their mannerisms and I liked that there was a brief description as well so I wasn’t sitting there wondering what was going on!
The last few chapters of the book was crazyyyyy. I had to read them all in one sitting as I couldn’t put the book down! I can’t wait to dive into book two to see what’s going to happen next!
The blurb alone was enough to make me want to pick this book up, and I'm so glad I did.
This was such a fantastic read! The world-building was absolutely incredible, and the plot was so layered, with new twists and revelations adding more depth to the story as it unfolded.
Seren was such an amazing protagonist. Caring, strong-hearted, determined, and fiercely loyal, she was the kind of character I couldn't help but root for. And then there's Eiran… I really liked him. Until I didn't. 😂
The final part of the book completely pulled me in (to say it blew my mind would be an understatement). When the big twist started unfolding, I was absolutely devouring every word, desperate to find out where the story was going. And that ending… That cliffhanger was nothing short of spectacular.
I need to know what happens next, and I cannot wait to get my hands on What Remains of Us!
The slow burn! The tension! The characters! AHHHHH I could honestly scream about this book forever. I was in a bit of a reading slump and picked it up, hoping it would be something I could get into. I did not expect it to be so compulsively good!
Seren is an unbelievable FMC! Even when she makes choices that make me want to lose my mind, the writing reels you back in every time, and you find yourself even more engrossed. I love the found family element to the book; the relationship dynamics were so well-written and felt incredibly relatable. Go read it because it will be the best use of your time!!
I haven't been so glued to a book in so long! I cannot express how incredible this was, I genuinely couldn't put the book down!!
This book had everything, fae magic, magical creatures, pixies, goblins, fantasy realms and kingdoms, fae royalty, familiars, battles and politics. Not to mention the betrayal and emotional journey this book takes you through! The writing is so incredible, when the fmc was going through grief and sadness I FELT IT. The twists were so good, my jaw was on the floor.
The world building was so magical, I am here begging for a second book to return to this world and these amazing characters!! Wow, can I give this infinite stars please😭😍 seriously one of my top 3 books now, highly recommend!!
"The waning sun shines in the whites of wide eyes; the blade slipping in my palm as it jolts against a thrumming jugular. My day is going pretty poorly."
It's a pretty epic adventure, actually. She meets so many different fae along the way. Terra Sola is such a cool hideout! I'd love to visit there. 🤩
Where she ends up - how she got there - and how Elvie wraps up this book is just...🤯
I didn't expect this book. It kind of fell into my lap and it ended up being such a fun find with found family (which is one of my favorite tropes) and a spicy love interest.
It's not the first book I would reach for while I was reading a stack all at once, but I did enjoy it.
If you like found family, enemies to lovers, or yearning, you may like this book.
I really enjoyed this book! It follows Seren, a human girl navigating the complex and dangerous world of the Fae courts while trying to keep her friends and family safe. She has to put her trust in strange Fae men she’s never met and journey far from home in her search for safety and a better life. The characters and relationships were complex and well written and Seren’s inner turmoil was conveyed well allowing the reader to share her anxiety about the situations she found herself in. Definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series!
I was a little hesitant to crack into this because romance is really not my jam but oh my lanta, this is a true fantasy novel with an undercurrent of romance. Seren is a delightfully frustrating FMC and her love and care for her small circle of family is gut wrenching. This is a beautiful debut novel and I look forward to her future works!!!
Selfish I know but this book needs a sequel. The magic is fun, the system is good, the side characters are well developed, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in this world. There were a couple pacing problems, some general editing misses but nothing that would take a reader out of it. Personally I loved it and highly recommend if you like fae or fantasy.
This was pretty good, a fun fae read. I liked most of the characters and enjoyed the descriptions of scenery. The slow burn drives me insane but in a good way. It ends on such a good cliffhanger that left me needing more.
