This holiday spirit doesn’t want peace on Earth—just his gold.
When Sue convinces her husband to purchase a historic estate outside Branson, Missouri—rumored to hide a cache of lost gold—she ropes Ellen and Tanya into helping renovate the sprawling homestead over the Christmas holidays. But it doesn’t take long for the trio to realize the real estate agent left out some key details . . . like the ghostly mischief plaguing the property.
What starts as harmless holiday chaos soon turns dark. The sprite haunting the estate isn’t just mischievous—he’s menacing. And his message is the treasure stays buried, and trespassers won’t be tolerated.
With Christmas looming and the hauntings escalating, Ellen, Tanya, and Sue must uncover the truth behind the legend before the spirit’s antics turn deadly. Is this mystery house a festive fixer-upper—or a trap best left untouched?

Great read if you love history, mystery and friendship
Eva is an amazing author. Her stories come to life through the relationship of 3 good friends who find that they are good at ghost hunting
I've read all of her "The Mystery House Series" some in 1 day's time. This book hit home for me. I help kids with their high school classes and we just finished a 1/2 year Civil War course so I was extra fascinated by this story. I'd love to share more but I'm not going to ruin it for you. Eva always surprises me and leaves me guessing what's going to happen in each chapter. Her twists and turns and side characters who we meet and come back in other stories. I want you to read all of her books you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for Book 17 I even pre-ordered it that's how much I love this series.
This was unexpectedly my favorite in a long time. The story was poignant in some ways. I especially like these these mature, active and smart characters. Bring on the next one Eva Pohler!
