Hannah Yorksley met Elvis “Bear” Thompson her freshman year in high school. He was shy with her, a gentle giant, and always respectful in her presence. The young love that bloomed would forever set the pace of the lives that would be intertwined. Although they cared deeply for each other, life broke them apart and even the strongest relationships break under distance. Now both find themselves back in their home town of Cody, Wyoming. Where Bear operates his father’s bar, The Jailhouse Saloon. Hannah is the second grade teacher at Cody Elementary. And in each other's presence, the fire is reignited. Hannah now faces another challenge though. Bear’s eight year old daughter Priscilla, who doesn’t hold back her thoughts, her tongue, or her sass. With lots of struggle and attempts, Hannah the soft hearted, horse loving, champion barrel racer, will have a new obstacle to figure out.

A dreamer and a romantic, I always loved to create and discover new stories. I fell in love with story telling at a young age. Writing poetry, and fan fiction stories.
When my children and my nieces came around I loved to make up stories to tell them when we went camping. My oldest brother, and my wife opened up the love of reading and through the different styles of writers I found a love for more authors and different genres of writing.
I finally chased down a dream to become a novelist. I like writing stories that capture the heart while creating memorable characters that readers can connect with.

Loved being back in this small town, this time with Bear and Hannah, the pages in harmony series is a lovely small town cowboy romance and this is book three in the series, though can be read as a standalone

I’m loving this world and the characters
This one’s takes you from past to present and takes you on their journey of growing up and getting to know each other and I actually really loved that. You don’t always get to read about the characters in their pasts, so it was really nice to read.

You see past characters in this book that were in book one and two. Which again, I loved.

Flitting between high school Hannah and bear to present adult Hannah and Bear was so much fun to read about and adult bear and Hannah are amazing.

Can’t get enough of these cowboys and cowgirls

This is my first book by Jesse Dean and I'm officially a fan. In Cody, Wyoming, where rodeo grit meets heartbreak, Sunflowers & Shots tells the story of Hannah Yorksley and Elvis “Bear” Thompson—once high school sweethearts, now strangers shaped by time and regret. Hannah returns as a teacher, guarded but tethered to the past. Bear, now a saloon owner and devoted father to spirited Priscilla, faces the woman he once lost. As old love flickers and new family ties form, Hannah must choose whether to risk her heart again. I highly recommend it. Definitely will be reading it again and again

Loved getting to know Bear and Hannah more and watching them grow up. From high school sweethearts, to second chances. A lot can happen in life after high school. But when she returns to her home town and finds out he is a single dad now, what better way to win the big guy back, then to take his daughter under her wing and teach her about horses.
They are such a great team together ❤️

This can be read as a stand alone or you can get to know the other characters by reading
Whiskey Glasses - Book 1, Abigail and Jameson
Spilled Wine- Book 2, Sydney and Cal

Wouldn't it be great if teenage love could last forever?

Hannah Yorksley was divided between her mother and father for almost half her life, until she moved to Cody, Wyoming, to finish school.
It was during this time that she made friends and fell in love with Elvis Thompson, also known as Bear.

Thanks to the time lapse between chapters, we gain a better understanding of why the historic couple separated after a long-term relationship, and how they will overcome the difficulties exacerbated by the years.

I must say that writing in the third person really helps with the narrative, as you get to read more points of view from the protagonists and other characters involved in the plot.
I'm not usually for second chances, but this one made me smile and warmed my heart like nothing has in a long time!

I highly recommend it if you need some light pampering!

Sunflowers & Shots is book 3 in the Pages in Harmony Series.

I absolutely love this series and this book! I was hooked from page one and once again lost sleep reading lol.. I think Jesse did a great job writing the story, holding my attention, and making characters that you will love. I feel like this story is relatable. The FMC & MMC care about each other but life has other plans and their relationship couldn't bloom when there was distance. Will they get a second chance once the FMC moves back to her home town or will his sassy daughter keep them apart? Guess you better read to find our!!

This is my first book from Jesse Dean. The book is #3 in the series and is also considered a standalone. I didn’t feel lost at anytime.
It is written in 3rd person POV, which is typically not my preference but it didn’t change anything story wise.
It has a lot of flash backs that help you understand character development and what has lead the MC’s to where they are in the story.
Overall, I think it’s written well, had a wholesome feel, and really had you rooting for the FMC & MMC. Second chance romances are a trope I enjoy to read. I recommend this read

Hannah
Her mum goes to Japan while she is happy to go and see her dad at the ranch.
Elvis bear
The two been on and off since school
Taylor guy not nice.
Going back and forth to the days in their school then back to the present day.
They had a kid together.
I forgot I was supposed to be reviewing this and umm... blank out what I was going to put.
The characters was good and I enjoyed it but not my favourite out of the series.
The ending really no. Need to know more.

The story sunflower and shots give you a very realistic idea of what love can be like especially of one a single parent and of a pass lover coming into a home of that life style. But none the lest this book warm my heart and made me feel as if I was watching a movie like the longest ride or rodeo and Juliet or even on my favorites the night at the rodanthe it’s a book that I will forever live on my shelf!!! 100% would recommend!!!!!

This story is a dual pov, which I love. I will warn you that the story does bounce between past and present. This way you get to find out what happened between them. I know it may sound like a lot, but it actually puts the whole story perfectly together.

Hannah came to live with her dad when her mom had to relocate for her job.
Bear and Hannah were high school sweethearts, to second chances loves. A lot has happened since they went to two different Colleges. When she comes home finally and finds out he is a single dad…she realizes this is the best time to try to win her big Bear back again. The daughter is the hardest to win over, as she is the competition in her little eyes. Hannah then pulls out the big guns when she finds out she loves horses too. Will that help her win her over and become her friend? You will have to find out.

This can be read as a stand alone. I read it as a stand alone. I didn’t know till a little after I started reading it. I still loved every second of it!! The first 2 you get to know the other characters.
Definitely give this beautiful story a shot. 🌻🥃🐎🏇🛢️

I was given the opportunity to ARC read Sunflowers & Shots. You meet Bear in book 1 and 2 and get to know Hannah a little more in Book 2. Now we get to know their story. Bear grew up with Jameson in Cody. Hannah only used to spend summers in Cody until she was given the opportunity to live with her dad full time. That’s when she met Jameson and Bear.

This story is a dual pov but also a story that jumps between the past and present. This way you get to understand what happened in the past and what brought them to this point.

They are given a second chance at love but Bear’s daughter is an obstacle. Can Hannah win her over?

The entire time reading you feel like you’ve been in these shoes and made these mistakes. And want them to make it in the end. You keep reading to find out what happens! Now I just need the next book!

Definitely worth the read! I couldn’t put this down and finished in a few hours!!

So first off, I read his first two books and let me say these are just those reads where you are rooting for these characters to fall in love. Each love story is different. Hannah and bear have such a unique relationship and bond in the book. It also shows a more realistic side of how life happens and how it affects these characters wanting to be together but there is something always in the way. For those who loved movies like the longest ride or ones who just prefer those small town romances this is the read for you!

If you love cowboys, horses and longing, this one is for you! But beware, you will fall in love with the characters and want more.

The book flips between the characters in their younger selves and current day. This flows well to not overload you all at once with too much information. It is just enough to keep you entertained and interested in what is going on. I have not read the other books in this series and at first stumbled around all the side characters, but soon got the hang of it and got enough information to understand their perspectives. I would say this could be read as a standalone.

The scenes are painted wonderfully and you feel immersed in them right along with the horses, the dirt, the hay and the excitement. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
