There’s nothing quite like tossing a handful of tropes into a blender and hitting max power, and Airicka does exactly that, serving up a decadent, eye-popping, unapologetically spicy romance that includes just about everything short of the kitchen sink. We’re talking stepsibling taboo, an age gap, MF/MM/MFM/MMF scenes, toys, a memorably creative use of a very appropriately shaped glass ornament, a why-choose dynamic, a Daddy Dom, and a breeding kink. Honestly? I’m still not sure which part I enjoyed the most. But let’s rewind to the beginning because I really didn’t like Isla’s stepbrother, Nicholas, at first. While I could understand his reluctance to get involved with her and his belief that she might be a flight risk, there was absolutely no excuse for the cruelty of suggesting she was unfit to be a mother. That crossed a line. Dominic, on the other hand, had my attention immediately. He was warmer, more intuitive, and clearly the one who had always wanted Isla to be part of his and Nicholas’s dynamic. What neither man initially understands is just how deeply Isla has been damaged by a lifetime of emotional abuse at the hands of her mother. The manipulation, degradation, and outright hatred Isla endures are utterly devastating to witness. Plus, that was made even worse by the fact that her father isn’t much better. Isla’s instinct to run when things get hard suddenly makes heartbreaking sense. To add salt to the wound, Nicholas has unknowingly bought into the lies her mother feeds him about Isla, which makes his early treatment of her even more painful. The book opens at a sprint, throwing you straight into the action, and while that’s a bit jarring at first, it doesn’t take long to get swept up. Isla’s loneliness, her yearning for Nicholas and Dominic, and her fractured sense of self are crystal clear from the outset. The real turning point comes when Dominic—and later Nicholas—start to truly see how Isla’s mother treats her. Once they do, everything changes. The more they witness, the stronger their protective instincts become. Yes, there are plenty of scorching hot scenes, but what really makes the story work is how seamlessly the spice is balanced with emotional depth. Watching the dynamic between Isla, Nicholas, and Dominic evolve as understanding replaces judgment is deeply satisfying. I especially loved how both men ultimately closed ranks around Isla, shielding her from her mother’s toxicity. Even Nicholas, who stumbled hard at the start, grows into someone who shows Isla what real love looks like—steadfast, supportive, and unwavering. This isn’t an easy journey, and I appreciated that Airicka didn’t magically erase Isla’s insecurities or trauma. Healing takes time, and the fact that Nicholas and Dominic never leave her side makes the payoff feel genuinely earned. Emotional, spicy, and surprisingly tender, this story delivers on every front—and then some.

A Grump for Christmas is the 11th book in the Piper Falls Christmas a multi-author series. This installment is brought to us by Aricka Phoenix.

Aricka Phoenix is another one of my go to authors and the Piper Falls Christmas series has been one of my favorite series of this holiday season. It covers a bit of a taboo trope, but it covers the stepsibling’s trope both realistically and hardcore.

Aricka just jumps right in to the full on hardcore nitty gritty spice. And while I was a bit off about who was who, I was able to quickly sort it all out and I felt like it was easy to follow the storyline and the plot. And honestly, I just loved this book. It was steamy, hardcore and just a fun book to read.

I found the characters to be lovable and they all felt so realistic. I loved the way that Aricka made this book feel like this was a story that could happen in real-life. The spicy scenes and how all the characters come together were so enjoyable and I loved how Isla, Dominic, and Nicolas were able to seamlessly come together, even if they did have their issues.

I quickly fell in love with both Dominic and Nicholas and they were so easy to fall in love with. And their story was one that you will find is truly enjoyable.

Even Isla was relatable. I found that everything she struggles with and the way that she was treated was relatable and I found that everything she struggled with and how she was treated were things that anyone could go through. In a way, I was really very annoyed with Dominic and Nicholas for being so blind and dense for how Isla was feeling and what she was going through. But, in the end, I can appreciate the way that things played out and how this book ended.

If you’re looking for a hot and spicy Christmas read that is a short and easy read with a great deal of fun with so much relationship drama with our FMC and MMC’s family members then A Grump for Christmas is just the novel that you’ve been looking for.

The one quote I love is from Dominic: "I think you kept digging your grave until you hit the septic tank and now, you're covered in S&*$."

Dominic delivered the perfect line to the right person perfectly. I just loved Dominic, honestly, I thought that he was an amazing man who had absolutely no problem standing up for what he believes in and who he loves and cares about.

Wellllllll this was filthy 😂 in the best way... Of course. I love going into books blind and not reading the blurb. (There isn't much I won't read so I like the element of surprise) And I was so pleasantly shocked by this one 🖤 if you've read the other Piper falls books this one definitely isn't like the rest... While each book in the whole series is unique this one is a bit taboo. So might not be everyone's cup of tea 🫶 I personally drank it up. Loved it.

My heart broke for Isla. Like literally broke. The toxicity with her family that she had to endure not only as a child while growing up but as an adult as well that basically manipulated, molded, and wired her to the way she is. Ugh. Heart= shattered. Seriously, want to reach through this book and smack a couple of these characters.
Super spicy read. Even with the heavy spice I thought the author did a fantastic job with the character development and the depth of why Isla is the way she is and absolutely nailing the emotional layers that made this fantastic. While it's heavy in some aspects and taboo in others it also showcases healing, love and strength. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this one 🖤 I'm so happy they got their HEA 🥹🥹
This is my first book this author and I'm looking forward to checking out more of their work!

Well, A Grump for Christmas kicks the gate open and takes off at a tear—there is no slow, schmooze, or swaggering. There’s voyeurism, domination, zero inhibitions. It is gritty, no holds barred, fun behind closed doors — or in the kitchen, or living room, or parent’s room … anyway, Airicka Phoenix spices it up RIGHT in A Grump For Christmas. And Isla is lucky enough to to be caught in the middle. Well, sometimes it’s Nicolas and sometimes it’s Dominic 😉 There is other plot to this. Lots of other quality plot. Like fighting their attraction to Isla. Trust issues. Toxic, manipulative family members. All of it is so good.

Can we all just take a moment here to give thanks we weren’t cursed with a mom like Isla’s mother. Wow. What a piece of work she is. And don’t get me started on her father—It’s a wonder she turned out as amazing as she has, and not a simpering shell, with these people in her life. Thank God Dominic gets tired of waiting …

Emotional with a side of steamy stepbrother and stepbrother's best friend and lover with a splash of baby making fever.

Isla, 25, Her mother married Nicks father when she was 13 and Nick was 19 and in college. Her father is married to some French woman who has teenage twin boys. Be warned her mother uses deception, manipulations and degrading even body shaming to torment her daughter that she Hates, her father what little we hear about this vile father underhand and talks to his daughter with vile insults. We will go through the hurt that Isla suffers with with dealing with the hate from both parents and even from Nick when he's fighting his feelings.

Best friends since diaper days, finding out they were bisexual for each other after an accidental kiss when they were 18, they were only attracted to each other while public only saw them as best friends with girlfriends and into sports and much later when Isla became of age, they both wanted her and now baby fever has hit the guys and this Christmas is their last chance to get Isla on board but what they know and what they see of Isla well it changed them .

Nicolas, 31, Lawyer junior partner at his firm. Both parents are alive and his mother is living her best life closer to Nick in New York. His father is more of a laidback guy to an extent.

Dominic, 31, boss at an ad agency. Very dominate and in charge and hates what he sees and hears that involves Isla, very protective of his 'babies', Nick and Isla.

This is a really good read, I enjoyed the storyline. It covered the stepsibling trope hardcore and realistically. I was a little confused when I first started reading it because it jumped right into nitty gritty steam and I felt disoriented about where in timeline they were but I got on track quickly. Feels more like reader error then anything. The characters were loveable and realistic. I felt that this is more like a real life scenario that could happen. I enjoyed the spicy scenes and how the characters seemed to come together. This is a very descriptive book so be aware. Dom and Nick were easy to fall in love with. I truly enjoyed their story. Isla was so relatable, her struggles in life and ow she was treated. I was annoyed with the guys for being so dense about how things were with her. I appreciate how things played out. HI recommend this read if you want a hot Christmas tale that will bring the spice. It is a shorter easier read and a great deal of fun with plenty of relationship drama with family members.

Love this quote from Dom: "I think you kept digging your grave until you hit the septic tank and now you're covered in S&*$."

It is perfect for the person it is delivered to. He is such a great man who has no problem standing up for what and who he believes in.

Spicy and taboo

Nick and Dom are a spicy pair for sure. I love the dynamic between these two men. Nick is grumpy and definitely sticks closer to what is right and wrong in the eyes of the majority while Dom would rather follow his heart. The fact that they both want to add Isla to their bed has left them stuck between what they want and the fact that she is Nick's stepsister so it's taboo.

This book takes a bunch of spicy tropes and mixes them together in a perfect blend. It also has this excellent amount of angst to leave you wondering what will happen next.

Do you want all the pairings possible with 2 men and a woman, a Daddy kink, a breeding kink, step-siblings, toys, overprotective men, and a woman who was always pushed untill running was all she knew? Well you're in the right book. This book is filled with smutty goodness while still having a story driving it forward.

I love Dom so much. I actually kind of hated Nick at first. If only someone had noticed earlier what Isla was dealing with she wouldn't have had to run so much. I adore that Dom was the one calling all the shots and was the one willing to push everyone into what they all wanted even when it would be taboo.

Definitely a Christmas to be remembered. LOL

Isla has in many ways never really experienced what love is.

Her parents are divorced and have often blamed her for their unhappiness and bad choices in life. - So much so that it affects her deeply.

This year she celebrated Christmas with her mother (Macia) and stepfather (Walker), along with her older stepbrother (Nicolas) and his girlfriend (Dominic), whom Nicolas has known his whole life.

Isla has not had much contact with her stepbrother throughout their parents' marriage. But it should be no secret that Dominic and Nicolas have developed sexual attachments to Isla in recent years, and she is one of the reasons they still celebrate Christmas at Nicolas's father's house (when she does too).

But what happens when Nicolas & Dominic discover that Isla has mutual feelings for them? - You'll have to read more about that in the book.

Here is a warning though:
If you have a hard time reading about hard sex,
sex between multiple partners,
family conflicts
and overall psychological violence.
Then this is probably not the book you should read.
However, it also shows how much love can overcome and heal a person.

Another great read from Airicka Pheonix, as always full of spice and a great read. Isla has returned to Piper Falls for the holiday, to her mother and step-father, but also to her step-brother and his boyfriend. She dreads returning her mother letting her forget her failing while idolising her step-brother, Nick. Nick and Dom hate returning to Piper Falls for the holidays but they go because of her.

This book made me want to cry to begin with, the way Isla's mother treated her. Making her always wanting to run. It made my heart hurt. Dom and Nick both want Isla in their lives, they love her, but Nick is wrestling with the fact that Isla is his step-sister. But when they both witness her mother cruel words, all they want is to protect her, love her.

This was a really quick read, it moved fast but was not rushed. The spice was good as always, and the story was an emotional rollercoaster. I loved every second of it.

5 stars -I loved the dynamic between Isla, Dom and Nick and how they each had their own distinctive personalities that balance out and fit together. There are lots of spicy scenes, but they’re balanced with the emotional dynamic and growth of their relationship as their understanding of each other develops. As much as I loved Dom and his unconditional love and support, I really liked that it was also slightly more complicated with Nick. It took a bit of time for him to really understand the full picture of Isla’s background, between what he was actually seeing and what he was being told. I think it showed a more realistic side of an outsiders perspective on that kind of difficult parental relationship, and understanding the effects it can have. My favorite part was probably how the three handle the family members (sooo satisfying), although I loved the epilogue too. I could read a whole novel length epilogue about the three of them just happily living their lives.

Ever since she saw them together for the first time she has wanted them. Craved them. But it is strictly off limits, her step brother and his best friend/partner, but she can't help being drawn to them. Her stepbrother's partner is ready to bring her in, wants to have both of them, but his partner is reluctant worried about the fallout. Before long things heat up and they are going to have to deal with complex family dynamics, and how to claim what they want despite what everyone else thinks. This is spicy, hot and steamy. There is definite sword crossing and this is a full MMF relationship. It is intense and their dynamic has a bit of a power exchange. This is a doors wide open story. The only thing I didn't think that fit was the title. I guess the step brother is the grump because he is initially reluctant but otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

I don’t normally like step sibling romances but holy hell this was amazing.

I loved Nicks, Isla and Doms dynamic. I loved how freaking down and dirty this book is and how much the MMCs are obsessed with the FMC. Couple that with some of my favorite kinks and you have one delicious romance.

Overall I loved the writing style. I liked the story progression. I couldn’t help but feel for Isla. Having parents that terrible and dealing with the anxiety of not being good enough, freaking broke my heart. Dom was my favorite. He saw Isla, accepted her and got Nick to start seeing her too. The ending was perfect for me too. Loved every minute of this!

Be sure to check trigger warnings before diving in, but it does end in a HEA!!!!

This book was super spicy and hot. I don’t o blame her for sneaking and watching them 🥵 The FMC definitely deserved her HEA after having to deal with terrible people as her parents. Honestly her mom deserved worse for how terrible she was to her own daughter.

I could definitely relate to how she felt about herself. She was kind of a doormat with her parents which I can understand just wanting to please the people you love. Just hurt my heart to read, kinda like my own personal sore spot

Honestly the characters in this book made me feel better about myself 😂 i appreciate seeing characters with high sex drive and actually stating they have one. I wish my relationship was like theirs, cause damn 🥵

A deliciously spicy MFM.

Isla has been bullied, dealt with unwanted sexual advances through high school with people telling her she's lucky they want her. Teachers telling her "kids will be kids."
On top of that she's got two narcissistic parents who have done nothing but make sure she knows how little they want her.

This Christmas her step-brother and his boyfriend are going to make sure she's shown all the love she deserves, and vow to protect her from the toxicity from the people in her life.

This is a very spicy read, and the overall plot was absolute perfection for me. Isla's mother is abhorrent and her father isn't any better. Seeing her be protected finally from all the toxicity she's learnt to deal with is so satisfying.

I devoured this in one day. Why choose can be hit or miss for me, but this one was a big hit!

Hello, people!
First of all, let me mention that this book is the eleventh book in the Piper Falls Christmas series. All the books work as standalone. Yes, yes, I continue to show stories that unfold during Christmas. For me, in my soul, Christmas never ends.
All the characters are well-written and real. Their realism won me over immediately, as did the author's writing, which is simple, warm, sweet, enjoyable, spicy and entertaining.
But besides these, there was another part that won me over and shocked me. This is regarding the toxicity of the main heroine's family. Feeling the same toxicity from almost every, my environment, made me feel a tightness in my heart and become very attached to Isla. As I read, the words became images and they a sharp knife...
I won't say anything else. There's no need... But, read it!

Many thanks to the author for the eARC!

This is my honest review!

Holy hot flash!
This book starts off hard and fast.
I am not usually a big fan of degradation, but hello dirty, talking step bro’s best friend/boyfriend. Even with the filthy talk, the MMCs are respectful, caring, and consent focused.

Read the sample and had to know how the FMC’s life would improve if she just got away from her horrid mother. Plus those are scenes you just can’t walk away from.

The steam was hot all the way through. If you are bothered by 'breading' talk, steer clear. There is emotional abuse and gaslighting but not between the main characters.

There is a HEA vibe and you can't help loving the characters and being happy for them.

P.S. bring a fan.

This is the first book I have read by Aricka Phoenix; I look forward to reading more. I thought that the writing was good; I was definitely intrigued. I wasn’t sure at first that I would like it, since the start was a bit difficult for me, but after a few chapters, I was hooked. Why choose and stepbrother romance are some of my favorite tropes. This is book 10 in the Piper Falls Christmas series. This is a series of interconnected standalones that can be read in any order. If you want to know what has happened with the prior couples, then I recommend reading in order.

This is more for 18+ readers as there is some content that may not be suitable for some readers.

If it was me I would say eight years isn't long enough to forgive Isla's stepbrother. Her family is vile and Nick falls in line with their awful treatment of her. But luckily for us she is on a different wavelength. And Dominic being a little removed or maybe more observant and protective helps a whole lot (I want to say less stup**, but family dynamics are hard).

There is a lot going on here with all the past to get through and now being stuck together. So many feelings all tangled up with these three. There was a pretty good mix of the emotional and physical. And there was actual growth and work put into their relationship(s) so it felt more real and lasting.

I love this author and this book is another winner! Of course it's got the expected amount of smut and the triad relationship, but it also has heart. It deals with the silent abuse of words given to tear a person down. Emotional abuse is real and damaging. Phoenix deals with it well and the fact that the character also sought out therapy instead of the adage of love heals all wounds? Chef's kiss!!

A lot to Unpack
Ok it was a dicy at first I got annoyed and wasn't sure id finish. Lol
All the characters annoyed me in their own way. But as the story continued they're personalities became as much of the story as the unfolding drama.
Family whew! A lil black sheep that's get blamed for everything. The grump has his own unpacking to deal with and his love isn't making things easy.
When the light finally dawns things change fast.
The sibs. The BF. The lover. Total drama. Narsisim at its finest. Blooming passion and love. Great story enjoyed it so much.

This book really gave me all the feelings. I started it way too late one night and read till the wee hours of the morning until I finally got to a place I could pause! Isla really has gone through the wringer her whole life and I could relate to a lot of her internal thoughts. 😭
I loved how supportive and protective Nick and Dom were of her. Everyone deserves a partner like that! The ending was so sweet and I'm glad they never had to follow up on their threats to chase after her!

This book was a steamy, smutty story of Isla and her desire for her step-brother and his boyfriend.
Isla has had to (and still does) deal with some shit from her mother and honestly it was difficult to read sometimes with how relatable some of it was. I loved how Nicholas and Dominic were super supportive and protective of her.
The drama and the plot was amazing I just wish it was longer/had more interactions between them!
Airicka is one of the best authors and all of her books I look forward to reading - I can’t wait for the next one!

y'all ever read that book that just like... makes you wish it was happening to you, you wanna be in on the action and just be ADORED by two men? No? Well, Airicka has the TREAT for you, good girl (or boy). This is the hottest MMF I've read so far, and WHEW! There's plot, Dom, Nick, Isla, angst, bitchy parent(s), screaming for the FMC, kicking your feet, turning over in bed to read more of it, and more... read at your risk if you want to fall for the hottest book boyfriends ever... (literally, I mean it, go read it!!)

Man oh man ! Chest your trigger warnings before diving into this book. But if you’re like me, and the longer that list is, the more it makes you want to read it, then this book is for you. Step siblings and a boyfriend. Being treated one way for all of your life, you don’t know how to act when someone comes into your life and shows you what being treated with love is really like. This was raw and vulnerable but with a whole lot of smut. Loved this 💥

This was a good book. It follows Isla and her story about her forbidden desires. I felt for her character with how she was treated by not only her mother but her father as well. It speaks to how someone can be misrepresented and maligned by someone who is louder and more manipulative. I liked how this story played out. It was very much about the dynamic between Isla, Nicholas and Dominic. It was very dynamic in that regard.

If you are looking for a spicy and right to it story then this might be for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Dominic and Nicholas, who are in a relationship. Who find themselves in a forced proximity situation with Nicholas’s stepsister Isla. Isla has always found herself crushing on her stepbrother although he is a total jerk. If you’re looking for a hot and spicy Christmas read that is short and easy to read that is really fun with a lot relationship drama, this is the book for you. There’s a lot of drama but also lots of spicy moments and in the end an HEA.

OH my GOD…. when I tell you this book is spicy off the chain I mean it! Airicka did not leave out any details and kept it hot from the beginning.
It’s Christmas time, which means Isla will be going back home to spend it with her family. Right back into her brothers arms, her brothers boyfriend. I felt bad for Isla and her consistent apologizing but was so grateful the men didn’t allow anyone to talk down on her anymore!
I loved the epilogue ! Great story all around

Holy fire in the sky, this did not disappoint! This book brought it all and did not hold back! Go Isla. You get some. H@ll all of you get some. This book so was freaking hot, my hands were burning while trying to hold on to this bad boy. This held depth and description like no other. I devoured this book! No way was I putting it down after the first chapter. Just freaking hot. I loved it, I need more!

This book is NSFW! But man is it good! Had me kicking my legs and giggling all day long yesterday. But serious note, I loved the depth and truth of the female character sadly I see myself in her a lot. Alot of the manipulation she saw growing up I feel matches a lot of mine. Hers was worse than mine in though. I love that I was able to connect on such a level was with her and see my husbands characteristics in Nicolas and Dominic. If you need a spicy spicy spicy book this is a great one!
