Holiday Bay is a charming seaside town where every season brings a celebration—and healing comes when you least expect it.
After a heartbreaking loss, Abby Sullivan never imagined she'd find solace in a quaint seaside inn in Holiday Bay, Maine. But surrounded by new friends, cozy traditions, and an endless parade of mysteries, Abby has discovered that sometimes the best way to heal is to start fresh.
In Book 36 of this heartwarming series, Abby joins Mackenzie Cole—niece of her boyfriend, Colt Wilder—and Colt’s father, Hank, for the town’s first-ever Holiday Bay Turkey Olympics. The trio arrives early to get settled, only to discover something far more surprising than turkeys inside the turkey truck…
As the Holiday Bay family prepares for the season’s first snowfall, familiar faces are navigating their own Georgia is overwhelmed by the pressure of choosing a name for baby Peyton, Hazel’s mysterious cough has everyone concerned, Anna is adjusting to her new life at the inn with cautious optimism, and Lacy is struggling with mixed emotions after letting her triplets travel for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Full of heart, humor, and seasonal charm, this cozy mystery is perfect for fans of feel-good fiction, small-town camaraderie, and the warm magic of the holidays.
Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home. Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

As usual, this is another good book in this series. I thought it was the last one based on the numbering, but after the end, it tempted me with the next book coming in the series. So I guess there's more!

I love this series by Kathi Daley, it was the first series I read of hers that made me aware of her work, and subsequently I've read a fair few of her releases.
This series is set in Holiday Bay and follows the owner of an Inn, called Abby; the family she has made there of her staff and her Police Chief partner; and the friends and inhabitants of the small town.
It's set near Thanksgiving and involves decades old mystery of the death of a couple and the child they left behind, and a van load of turkeys that go missing on the day of the turkey Olympics at the school.
The books in this series are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.
If you liked this book, read others by this prolific cosy crime writer. The Bookstore at Holiday Bay; The Bakeshop at Holiday Bay; Tess and Tilly; Resort at Castaway Bay and The Cottage on Gooseberry Bay, there are many more.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Residents of Holiday Bay are being told that turkeys are in short supply, in fact some people have had to change their dinner menus. The school planned a Turkey Olympics event which would include students and their parents. Mackey asked Abby to stand in for Colt who continues to recover from being shot in the line of duty. But the turkeys disappeared from the delivery truck while the driver had breakfast at the local diner. Annie is introduced to an aunt she never knew existed. Georgia is in her eighth month of pregnancy and needs to slow down. The girls' soccer team coached by Lacy and Abby finally wins a game. An investigative reporter who was staying at the inn disappears and is later found dead. A man who grew up in Holiday Bay returns so he can get his aunt's house ready to sell and discovers a mystery surrounding his family history.
I'm loving these later books. Abby is so sentimental and loving. Having so many names became confusing. There are now a lot of reoccurring characters which I love and want it to continue! However, adding to remember the names of all thr regular characters, the main case ended up including several generations of parents and kids. Those names and family positions took more brain power than normal for me to understand what was happening.
This is still one of my absolute favorite books series!! Please keep it up!!
I enjoyed this book, because I've read all the previous books. If you aren't familiar with the characters, you'll be lost. Even I had to sort them out as I read. There really are too many names listed in groups throughout the story. I feel that it wasn't necessary to continually name them all. There was a mysterious death and some time spent working through who may or not have been responsible. A quick ending while setting up for the next book. A fast read but only if you know all the characters.
As always, holidays are Very Busy Times for Abby and her chosen family. Last soccer game Possible big change for Anna Impending birth of Georgia and Tanner’s baby Colt’s parents back in town A previous resident has returned with questions about his family of origin An investigative reporter shows up and meets an untimely end And ALL THE TURKEYS for the turkey Olympics have an unexpected adventure No wonder Abby feels as if she never has a minute to herself!!
There is always a mystery to the story as well as lots of extended family issues. Colt's parents have returned to Holiday Bay, and things may be working out with them and Abby. A reporter who was staying at the Inn is murdered, but which story was he working on that got him killed? A young man returning to town to clean out his aunt's house finds some things that change his family dynamics.
The escaped turkeys added a touch of humor to this story, but the heart of this story was actually family. Sometimes we find ourselves in places where even though our blood relatives are far away we are still blessed with friends who have become our chosen family. Regardless of the normal ups and downs of human nature we find ourselves in awe of how rich and special our lives become.
I know that didn't sound very mysterious but I had been missing my Holiday Bay family and friends! I hope the next one is ready for my library! 😊 Yesterday was my 81st birthday and I spent it with family and an amazing dinner prepared by all of us but mostly my sweet niece. I can so relate to Abby and throw in a good mystery and I am in heaven!!
I love this series and this story as well . It revolves around a turkey contest at the school. when as a prank some students let the turkeys out and they scattered all over town. Georgia and Tanner are preparing for their baby and the Inn is preparing for Thanksgiving. An investigator is at the inn for few days to investigate a couple of things. We are looking into a past accident and a compliant of water pollution . The investigator is a murder victim. A VERY GOOD COZY MYSTERY SERIES.
This book had several “mysteries“ that were written into the story. The murder of an investigative reporter that had been staying at the inn was investigated. In addition, a senator was being questioned regarding the murder, and not involved. However, he was the father of a baby born years ago and that was probably a secret kept even from him.
Run away turkeys and a dead man washed up on the beach...Thanksgiving time in Holiday Bay! As usual, there is lots going on in Holiday Bay and Abby and her friends are right there to assist Colt, Alex and the rest of the police. And was good to see Beck also in the story again from his booth at the Bistro.
I do love this series. And the Inn at Holiday Bay is probably my favourite of all the books at Holliday Bay, though always read all of them. I loved seeing Abby and Colt working closely together and I really liked seeing Colt and Mackey facing Colt’s mother supporting Abby. Colt’s dad is lovely and really likes Abby and sees how good Abby and Colt are together. I can’t wait for the next one.
The reporter is asking questions about Senator Hillsdale's teenage summers. A former resident, Dakota, returns to prep his family's home for sale. Medical concerns for Georgia and Hazel cause stress. Anna's aunt, Frannie, arrives to meet Anna. Abby is considering building a house for Colt, Mackey, and Tyler near the Inn.
Something just didn't work out with the turkey trot. Like they got loose. But if that wasn't all there was a PI journal person wondering around and then he wasn't. All happened in the most stressful time of holliday planning. Has anyone started Christmas shopping yet? Never mind.
I’m looking forward to Abby and Colt’s future personal life. This is actually my favorite series by Kathi Daley. I enjoy the others yet I’ve been drawn into these people lives. Indeed, they are one huge happy family and that does my heart good. Touché, Kathi and Godspeed.
Loose turkeys, dead reporter, a parental mystery, and of course Thanksgiving are all part of this book. Kathi never fails to keep me engrossed in the story with a turn around every corner. I miss the characters in between books, thankfully some are intertwined in the other series as well. Highly recommend.
Another good book in this series. So much goes on in these stories. And all the people from the other series are always included. There are always a couple of mysteries going on. The family that was cobbled together is always nice to read about.
A mystery upon mystery. A tale of family and history. This is a series and while I got the point I believe reading the other books would have been helpful to stay on track.
I absolutely loved it! Another wonderful book! I hope Tyler comes around. I hope that gets answered in the next book. This is a must read series! I can’t wait for the next book!
If you follow this series, then you’ll be surprised to find that the continued storyline from the last book in the series into this one has competing information to the story. In the last book, Lorelei had no sister & in this book, she suddenly does.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
