Kase Madoxx is young, rich, and reckless, the cocky king of Knights and Voltage, two of the city’s hottest clubs. Built his empire off smooth talk, champagne, and a body count of women he’ll never text back.
Emotions? Buried. Accountability? Never met her.
Then comes Blyss Monroe.
Brown-skinned, book-smart, and awkward as hell, with a snort that won’t quit, she’s been crushing on Kase for years. Not his type, but somehow, she’s in his head.
One twist, one potion, and suddenly the player’s glitching. Charm? Malfunctioning. Swag? Unavailable. Focus? All on her.
'Cause sometimes karma don’t clap back, she giggles behind glasses and makes you fall.
2.5.. It had so much potential, but the ending was rushed. The disrespect was too much from Kase and the growth was not enough. Also, the chemistry between Kase and Bliss was nonexistent, only forced to do so because of the potion.
If it was more detailed and balanced, it would've been a good Halloween read.
It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t that good either. I don’t see why Blyss couldn’t see her own worth and leave Kace alone and let him see her for who she was on his own… She hurt her own feelings by running behind a man who showed her he didn’t mess with her like that. Not only was he mean to her he was a bully yet she kept going back?? Then in order to make him see her she had to use potion… I get where the author was going but this wasn’t it. Then she go from the “mirror me” portion to them being in a full blown relationship? Did he ever see the errors of his ways? Did he ever apologize to her for how he treated her? There’s a lot left unanswered…
I don’t care how “green” someone is, nobody is as green as the author wrote Blyss. Half the time it felt like it was her first day on earth. The scene where she got flowers from Jase had me confused because why was she acting like it meant he secretly liked her. Just say thank you and move on. It felt childish.
The whole book read like a high-school bully romance, except these are grown adults acting less mature than actual teenagers. And some of the lines were so over the top they felt AI-generated. For example, “I paid in cash. No card. No receipt. No trail.” Why? Just say you paid in cash. It didn’t fit the moment and made no sense. There were a lot of lines like that scattered throughout the book.
Kase smirked entirely too much, and even the basic logic didn’t line up. There’s a moment where he says he wasn’t looking at Blyss but somehow knows she blinked twice. How. Things like that pulled me right out of the story.
Blyss was written extremely weak, and it was exhausting. She’s in her twenties acting like a scared teen, running to tell another grown man what his brother did to her like somebody was getting written up. It didn’t make sense.
I tried to push through, but I had to DNF. I wasn’t about to believe a potion was suddenly going to make Kase confess feelings he never showed, not through actions, thoughts, or behavior. Nothing about him said he liked her.
This was the weakest book in the Pills and Potions lineup so far, and it was the one I actually had hope for. I still don’t understand how you’re supposed to crush on someone with no redeemable qualities whatsoever.
Kendra I love your pen! You can take me from the bedroom to the boardroom and every room in the middle😊 when I say I love this crew I do. Lawd have mercy, Kase is such a strong willed man, he says what he wants no matter who it hurts. Along comes Blyss she will make him look through different lens and bare his soul. When I say this boy went from a jerk to a caring man that had no clue as to why. I know they are sleep.but if y'all enjoyed them as much as I did maybe they will come back. Let's see how it goes. Great read Ken🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Kace was the typical player, more so because of how his father treated his mom and he was an absentee father. However it was funny how differently he acted when given the potion. I just don't like that Blyss didn't get him without the potions. She got him under false pretenses. I was hoping he would see her for who she was without the potions. I still felt she got him under false pretenses and that didn't set right with me.
Yeah kase thought he was about to keep playing with blyss I was surprised she had a position for herself she knew what she wanted and went right for it but at the end they saw the real in each other the beginning was rough but they both opened their eyes and realized they really was meant for each other I couldn't believe her throwing them apples that was just too funny
Kase made me wanna throw hands on more than one occasion, but when that potion hit him, I couldn't but die from laughter. I haven't laughed that much in a long time. Some may think Blyss was desperate and crazy to keep looking Kase's way, but sometimes you need someone who's willing to help break down barriers you didn't even know you held up for so long. I enjoyed this.
I'm so glad Blyss gave Kase that Mirror Me Potion. He was to arrogant and egotistical for my liking. He needed to be knocked down a peg or two. I wanted to shake some sense into her sometimes for even liking him even after he say and do mean stuff. She got the last laugh and the man of her dreams tho.💟💟
Kase had me laughing at him. When he hung out with his friends and had the strippers in a circle giving them a circle talk about their feelings had tears coming out my eyes. But when Blyss was describing the scene at the bowling alley i couldn't breathe. Please go read this book.
I enjoyed reading about Kase & Blyss their little cat and mouse games was cute. Blyss said she had to do what she had to do get her man. I loved Jace and Tuesday they was a cute couple. Overall I loved the book.
I don’t know if I missed him coming down from the second potion or what happened. It just kind of fast forwarded I could have used about 10-15 more pages. But I laughed sooooo hard.
This my first read by the author and it was a good one. Kase was an asshole big to Blyss but I was happy she got her payback in the end. However I was with her cousin, I think she should've moved on from Kase.
That magic had Kase in G ooooo.... it was too funny. He spoke truth, knowledge and jokes. Wheels chased after she wanted and was determined to get her man by any means necessary.
We try not to be who are parents were and somehow turn into them or a version who we don’t recognize. Love should help you grow in ways you want better for each other.
I love this book . It just became my favorite. I thought Blyss had him with the pills but when she gave him that potion that was it lol i loved every bit of it
