Darkening Truth (Black Onyx Academy) Book 4
It turns out that I’ve been to the God Realm before, or at least a part of it, and although we do learn some new things, surprisingly, we already know some of what the Goddess wants to tell us.
The Dragon Realm.
One of the more dangerous realms, and apparently where we need to go, before we can even begin to prepare, and maybe question Monty about a few things, the Fates decide that things aren’t complicated enough and throw us another complication, and an old enemy makes an unwelcome appearance.
This is a slow burn paranormal Reverse Harem. Set in the same world as the Lost Ones series, it will crossover with Sage and her men at some point but can be read separately!
Please be advised that this book contains dark themes, including abuse, graphic violence, flashbacks to past abuse, and cursing.
Additionally, sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences 18+.
All sex is consensual.

No no no Nikita
How could you leave it there woman 😫
It was bloody brilliant and I ate up every bit of it.
Im really hoping we get one final mate in our group and thought that as soon as I heard about him being there.
I did guess about the 2 men being who they are moments before they told them and thought it was perfect. Ive got a feeling that Sage will have a similar thing going on with her fighting teacher and the Goddess in her books. Im extremely excited for that book and hope we get a crossover.
Im sure these girls will find out they are cousins or some sort of family to eachother.
They both seemed to react the same when in eachothers presence.
I just had a gut feeling that our friend in the void would play a bigger part to the story and im very happy about it. Im hoping our little bat friend will become visible to them all soon now things are progressing.
I know we have a good wait for the next book as im having the same issue with all her other series and wanting them all NOW lol but that just shows you what a good author she is.
Please do yourself a favour and read these series by Nikita because you will be laughing your head off one minute then crying your eyes out the next.
She is a master at what she does and this book is no different.

Before I start my review! WOMAN I NEED BOOK FIVE PLEASE
okay, so much like every single book of hers it picks up right where we left off. I don’t even know how to encompass everything that I felt while reading this so what I will say is that we did learn a lot.
Not gonna lie, I had a theory for what Magnus told her and I was completely wrong. Not gonna lie, I kind of upset that I didn’t get that right. Now I did guess the same thing for Sage so we shall see if I was correct. I don’t want to spoil too much. I will just say that we learned about Farrens birth parents well at least three of them. There is more we just don’t know them yet or we haven’t been introduced to them or given names yet as what I mean.
Now I won’t go into my theory fully because I don’t want it to ruin Sage’s story if I do end up being right about it. But I was kind of hoping these two were gonna be sisters. The parentage lineage I was right about the actual mother I was wrong about.
And if it’s still not the mom of Sage, then I’m curious as to how she fits into this entire thing. Although based off clues we’ve gotten or at least what I feel like are clues I do feel as though I might be right with her.
Anyways, our FMC definitely gets some trees in this. We find out little things about the guys not much which I do really really hope we learn more and more about them as the series progresses. Secondly, I believe we have a new person in our little entourage here. So that’s exciting.
Also, I just want to see that cliffhanger as he was describing it I knew for some reason that it was gonna be the Void. And I’m kind of excited to see where it goes from here and I think I do know what her purpose is going to be in that particular space so
All I have to say is I really hope this book comes out before November of next year, which we know it will, but I just hope it comes out within the next four months because I need the next one like today

We’re finally starting to get the pieces put together now! After spending a bit of time in the god realm where they learn that not even the gods can tell them everything, Farren and Zev spend some time in one of Farren’s dreamscapes where they meet some imprisoned people. They’re told that it’s actually a realm that is dying and will throw off the balance of life and death if it does. So now they’ve got that task on top of everything else. They end up back at the school where we meet ANOTHER GUY. This other guy Rast is from that realm and was sent to find a team who could save the realm. The book ends with them in that realm which turns out to be the void. So Farren is the goddess of the in-between realm! She also got Darth Vadered in this book my Monty and Magnus which I found funny.
This book was still good. We got more time with Zev and Mayhem but I just feel that we’re in too many guys territory now in my opinion. They’re still distinct characters but we’re not getting enough time with any of them. It’s a bummer. I’ve seen this happen with other RH books but they also suffer from the characters blending together in terms of traits and personalities. That hasn’t happened here yet but it feels like I’m only getting the surface of each character.

Darkening Truth
"Some truths change everything, and some destinies cannot be avoided."
What a phenomenal continuation of this series. Darkening Truth expands the world even further, taking readers beyond what we thought we knew and introducing new realms, new dangers, and even bigger revelations.
I loved how much growth we see from Farren. She's still fierce and powerful, but there's a maturity to her leadership and confidence that reflects everything she's overcome. The relationships continue to deepen, and the bonds within the group feel stronger than ever.
The exploration of the God Realm and Dragon Realm added exciting new layers to the story while maintaining the emotional core that has made this series so addictive. Every book seems to make the world bigger, the stakes higher, and the characters more compelling.
This series continues to deliver everything I love in a paranormal academy romance: action, mystery, found family, slow-burn romance, and a heroine who refuses to let her past define her

This was definitely a slower pace than the other books but a lot more mysteries were unveiled.
Most series do have a book like this one which is more of a bridge to get to the next set of events which is exactly what this one was. More learning information and recuperating after the events of the previous books.
It looks like we found a new mate to add to the crew but I guess we will see how that pans out in the next book(s). Crazy developments that I did not see coming are revealed here, including who Farrens parents are. Surprisingly, unlike most books with fated mates, there is not much spice in these books in general.

Darkening Truth
This book has packed so much in we have gotten many truths and many battles. Farrens strength will impress you very much. The stuff she survives and still comes out not broken is astonishing. There are more things added to the to do list so if you think we are getting anywhere close to an end you will be sadly mistaken. With the warrior games still in affect and so much more. The ending is just ok should of seen something like that coming but definitely wouldn't. Definitely need more

Good
Picking up where book three left off, we find Farren and her mates in a different realm. There they learn a few new truths, before heading back into conflict… meeting new friends, learning some fascinating things about themselves and each other, and realising that they are involved in something far bigger than they knew.
It’s just as fast paced as the previous books, and although they don’t have any crossovers this time, we do see some mention of people/events from the other series set in this world.
If you enjoy fast paced, action filled urban fantasy with morally grey characters and a complicated, ongoing story, then you will love this book.

Okay, they have survived the Underworld, but before heading to the Dragon Realm there’s just one itty-bitty detour they weren’t expecting - and it will change the course of their quest.
Loving the characters, we finally get the truth of Farren’s parentage, and there’s a new Headmaster at Black Onyx Academy that isn’t quite what he seems. Finished this and was so excited to go onto the next book, only to discover it doesn’t come out until Nov 2026 (nooooooo! 😫).
I might have to give the series a reread before the final book comes out.
4.5-4.75 stars

Another wonderful part of the story!
I love this series! Farren is such a bad@ss, and her men fit her perfectly! I did get an inkling of part of the story, but it only made me want to reach the end to see if I was right.
As always, it was full of action and adventure. There are several minor plots within the whole, which I always love. Keeps it interesting.
And UGH! Cliffhanger is sooooo good!!

Another amazing book!
Nikita is the only author I’ve read whose books never disappoint. The characters are well written, with faults and damage, but don’t irritate me by waffling or wallowing. I never get mad at the guys for continuously making dumb decisions that hurt the FMC. The FMC’s are always kick-ass and strong willed, never fading into the background. I can’t get enough of any of her series, and am so grateful that she is a prolific writer.

DAM IT!!!!!!!! I am regretting reading this book before the 5th came out because now I have to wait and I don’t want to! please, Nikita, don’t make us wait. I literally want to cry. I have read the first 3 books like 10 times each. This is my absolute favorite series! I love Sage too, but there is just something extra special about Farren! I NEED the 5th book to come out!!! 😍 I think I’m just gonna go read this book again!

Good Read
What an ending! I did not see that coming until it was literally on top of me. I love Nikita Parmeters’ story telling abilities. The books are addictive and well written and always leave me wanting more. I cannot recommend reading not only this book but the back catalogue of this author as the books are amazing.

Love this one!
I can't wait for the next book! What a great cliffhanger. I do hope the next book is longer, and ties every loose end together, although I don't see how this won't become 6 books with this ending. I'm really glad that Ren finds out some more pieces of the puzzle, though. Such great plot twists! Definitely worth 5 stars

Great filler that fills in on some plot holes
************Spoiler Alert!!!******************
I enjoyed this book. I’ve re read the previous books every time a new one has come out and I’m glad I did. I do wish there was a summary of what happened at the beginning of each new book even if it doesn’t dive into each character and how they relate to the main female character.
I found this book not As exciting as the previous ones if anything, I found it quite slow. There was a lot of discussions about what’s happened, then agreeing with someone saying “that’s a good point and when we get back, we will have to research it”. That’s on par for Nikita’s series, especially this one and blood moon academy. They discuss, they ask questions, bring up points from before, agree that it’s important and it’s one more task they need to figure out. Thankfully, this book finally reveals answers to many of their questions, but in the end, it causes more questions. One big one? Farrens murderous psycho Magistrate father, isn’t really her father. 1. She was “placed” in his household. 2. Farren is a Goddess, or the very least, a very strong Demi-Goddess. It’s not truly “confirmed”, but they all agreed, and even if Farren didn’t want to dive into that subject. She rarely wants to talk about herself, she would rather bury her head in the sand and avoid all things about her. It makes sense though. She’s incredibly powerful, she has access to multiple powers, powers that haven’t been seen in centuries. Air and Fire, Forcefields, Wards, Spell Weavers, and Void magic that I can remember. She downplays it immensely and glamors the strength of her magic. She was adopted by, two twin axes, they are *God Given Weapons*, and can only be used by the God that the weapons chose. They are pretty snazzy from what I read. She also touched and moved Hades twin god given swords too, so she could give them back to him when she saw him later. No one is supposed to be able to touch other God Given Weapons. It’s hinted heavily in this book, that their bond is a mate bond, not just a warrior bond, or a Centre bond. They dance around the subject many times, and as I said before this series is Extremely Slow Burn. We do finally get some Killian action, but it felt way too short for the number of books we had to read to that lead up that.
Am I surprised that Farren keeps adding men to her harem? No, I’m not. She collects them like she’s Easter egg hunting. H being the most recent, aka Khaos. He was also the last leader faction from the Shadowlands, in order to break the compulsion, Farren had to disable the dark magical artifact the Princes set up. They killed all his men, and Farren was abducted. Khaos popped up after and he helped get Farren back. Unknowingly, meeting Farren in a dream where he comforted her (she was being tortured in the Underworld). He is Hades oldest best friend. This book, everyone mainly just kisses passionately and Khaos gets in on this too. Then a new guy is revealed. He’s from the land that Farren dreamt about. She pulled Zev in and they explored a land that’s steeped in shadows, it had seen a great battle, everyone long dead from centuries ago, burnt carriages, and walls, before stumbling into a castle, empty of ppl except, this one ghost (completely coherent when it shouldn’t be) that led them to a dungeon holding cell full of ppl that have survived centuries imprisoned. They talk to a guy through a peep hole or something, explaining just enough (like always) that Farren and her men need to get them out, that the realm will fall and cause massive tip of scales to the bad side which will wreck havoc across all realms. Yes, exactly as dramatic as that. But, that seems to be the theme of this series. She doesn’t clue in thay, it could be the Void, I mean, Helloooo… super obvious but moving on. They need to find a stolen book, that’s basically not all “lies”. They need to sift through it to find a way into the realm. Then find this guys grimoire, then find the spell to hopefully reverse the damage done to the realm from the battle the King lost. After, she’s pulled into a nightmare from being tortured… one of the princes favourite ways of torture. The guys all have to use their magic to touch her to pull her out which allows her magic free rein to snap a bond in place that they also don’t talk about. She learns who stole the book and find out it’s her “supposed” father and after heading to his place, they find her dad/father turned into a Wraithe. Rival gets to take out some of his anger on him before learning where it is. They get it, bring it back to the academy, and meet up it the newest guy to enter her harem. Theres a new Headmaster who saw them carry “The Book”, and just knows she and the guys are the prophesy ones to save his shadow realm. He explains the battle and tells her about his world. Then a lightbulb turned on in her head, even if she never vocalizes it. Probably to give the reader some anticipation. It’s the Void. She is their Goddess, which is why it strengthens her and the Void when she visits. Oryn is from the Void. She saved him on a visit, and she glows in the dark there. Rast, the new headmaster is from there, tasked to find the group to save them. It ends though before we get to that realization. Can’t wait for the 5th book!

Are we reading the same book? Why are we always aware that she is hungry? The amount of men that are immediately infatuated by her is getting ridiculous at this point. The constant theme of "what?" and "I'm not able to tell you yet" are getting old. I wanted to finish the series but I don't think I can handle anymore.

OMG!!!!
Nikita I love you but your endings for your books are going to give me ulcers. It was so good I was so invested. All of it chefs kiss. I will now have to go back and do a reread to find all the Easter eggs you have been leaving for the few that I missed.

This installment answered so many questions! It did an amazing job filling in puzzle pieces while still maintaining the action, intrigue, and connections that have been staples in this series. I can't wait for the next installment!

Many writing mistakes and the characters still have no personality but I had fun and the plot is still intriguing so I'm going to keep reading this series. The cliffhanger😭

Phenomenal as always
Nikita has again, blown me away, with another one of her books. I am always searching to see if there's another book out. The FMC in this series is brilliant and I love the progression with the characters as the story goes on.

It's getting good
I can't wait for the next book, but I did see this ending coming. Thoroughly enjoyed getting some much needed answers to the unending questions created in the previous books. Eagerly waiting to see what happens next.

Another great book!
She did it again. Nikita Parmenter has given us another great boot. Farren and her her men keep me glued to the book. Yes, this books ends on a cliffhanger but it just makes you ready for the next one. Can't wait.

AMAZING READ!!
I love this series. Very strong FMC. Love her men too. They are each strong on their own too. But FMC really makes everything work. Been recommending to my other book lovers and this series I will be re-reading until the next one comes out. 💖💖

Herlig forfatter
Liker denne serien, forfatteren har en spesiell stil som fyller deg med humor og den deilige følelsen hvor "the underdog winns" og man får tatt hevn...;)
Jeg har flere serier av denne forfatteren og blir aldri skuffet!

Zipped threw all 4 books and now the wait. It will be worth it. I still can't wait to see what happens next. The story and characters are great, you wont want to miss reading this series.

Awesome... Don't miss out grab a copy
This series is the best I have read in a long time it's has so many twists and turn it keeps you wanting to read. The characters on storyline are so different then anything I have read in awhile don't miss out grab you a copy.
