In a World of Sunrises is made up of 365 short entries (one for each day of the year) of ideas, poetry, and quotes that encourages us to pause, be present, and find meaning in our daily lives.
Wade acknowledges that we can’t prevent difficult or hurtful things from happening, but we can learn how to manage them with openness and compassion. In letting go of unnecessary pressure and being kinder to ourselves, we can take control over what isn’t helpful to us. I appreciated how the book emphasizes healing, loving kindness, and the idea that we are deserving of grace, and also adventure.
I read through multiple quotes a day in order to offer this review. Not every message will resonate with everyone, but there will be at least a few that really connect.
Overall, this book has influenced my perspective on life. I will absolutely be re-reading and using some of the quotes as mantras. For me, it’s a reminder that after we take care of ourselves (including rest), we can begin to feel the warmth of the sun again.
Thank you to Avid Reader Press / Simon & Schuster Canada and NetGalley for this arc.
I jumped for joy when I received an ARC for “In a World of Sunrises” by Cleo Wade from NetGalley. I had been waiting for this book release. “Heart Talk” and “Where to Begin”are my go-to’s for when I need a little pick me up and “In a World of Sunrises” will be added to my ‘toolbox’ now.
Similar to the works I mentioned above, Wade structures this book as a 365-day companion. Each quote/passage/blurb/mantra provides comfort from little nuggets of wisdom to short reflections: ‘Even in moments of darkness, there are still little lights all around us. Find one today’.
Her choice of words creates such a beautiful picture in the mind, ‘see a bee float from flower to flower, watch a leaf glide toward the ground, whispering, Fall is in the way’ - Day 51.
I felt true peace after completing this reading and would read it over and over as it was designed.
I received an early copy of this book from the publisher (Simon and Schuster Canada) and immediately started it! I can't thank them enough for the opportunity to discover Cleo's work.
I can't tell you how many quotes and pages are highlighted as I journeyed through what I called a relevant and timely piece of work that offered encouragement, reflection, motivation, reminders and thought provoking moments that I basked in. This was my first Cleo Wade book and definitely won't be the last one. I am excited to jump into her backlist but will be thinking of and reflecting on all the nourishment this one offered in the meantime.
In the chaos that is our world right now if you are looking for some reminders, self encouragement and care through words, this is the book for you. I assure you, you will find and even heal a piece of you the moment you start experiencing these pieces.
Loved it! An immediate favourite read for 2026 for me!
I was pleased to read an advance copy of Cleo Wade’s charming new book, In a World of Sunrises, due to be published in early April by Avid Reader Press/Simon & Schuster.
This lovely volume includes quotes, mantras, original poetry, and brief essays each designed to bring hope and joy to its readers. Best enjoyed in small bites, the book is designed to be read one-entry-per-day, and would make a lovely gift for a friend - especially if that friend could use a cheering boost.
The cover art is charming.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avid Reader Press/Simon & Schuster for providing me with an advance copy of Cleo Wade’s In a World of Sunrises in exchange for my honest review. This book will be published on April 7, 2026.
This thoughtful book of poetry and prose by author Cleo Wade is an excellent reminder that even when times feel a little bleak, there is sunshine among the clouds. From stories about hope, love, and motivation to poems about dealing with grief, despair, and anxiety, each day brings a new part of yourself to the front. The friendly tone allows you to easily take what you need and leave the rest, but for me each new day felt relevant and engaging. If you’re looking to start a daily meditative practice for the next year, or to add to your existing routine, this helpful book would be a great addition.
