We are The Broken MuseThe crowd shouts as I smile, hugging my girl close. I twirl her around the stage, feeding their cheers while planting a show-stopping kiss on her sinfully red lips. Our fans scream at our love, both excited and envious of what we have. But little do they know that, in spite of the goddess wrapped in my arms, my eyes look past her and gaze into those of another. My loverboy.
This is a dark rockstar romance. Please check triggers prior to reading.

4.5⭐️ I got an arc, but my rating/review are my own!
this is my favourite work of the author so far!!! and still no words for how much i loved this one!!! normally I read my books in one sitting but I've been working so I start the books before work and then finish after work and the way I was only thinking about this book the whole day is not even funny!!! this one made me feel so much abd did I cry??😭😭😭 yessss I did😭😭😭
Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC and provide my opinion!
I read this short and steamy dark rockstar romance in one sitting! Kash and Motley had great chemistry physically and such an emotional and complicated connection. Twila was so supportive - it was really a standout part of the book for me.
There were so many twists and turns of this book that Ab. Cynthe kept me guessing what was going to happen next!
If you like the following, you’ll enjoy this book: -Dark Romance -Rockstar Romance -MM Romance -MF Romance -MMF Romance -Found Family -Possessive MMCs -Secret Relationship -Touch Them and Die -Dark Secrets -Sing for Me
• Another AB book ☑️ I totally fell in love with these two INSTANTLY. Their chemistry is everything, it’s fiery, and honestly I wish I was a part of the Broken Muse. They’re just so cool. These two beautiful men. And the girlies obviously rock too, little baddies. The family band dynamic, the banter, the support.
• The push and pull of their relationship. The filthy words, the stolen moments. Gah. I was on the hook so fast and never wanted to be let go. My heart hurt for both of them at different parts as they battled with their own crap. But their love was so real and so damn deep.
• Absolutely delectable, Kash & Motley are now rocketed up to some of my favs. And I’m a fangirl forever. Where do I get my band tee.
3.75 🌟 I’m struggling to find the words for this one TBH - because there were things I really liked, and things that felt rushed and impacted the overall reading experience (but I did know I was walking into a short standalone, so there’s that lol).
I loved the spice in this one, and the resolution to the romantic plot in itself (but the punny music references were not it for me, and they happened constantly 💀).
Motley? Adore him. Sweet bb boy. But the twist at the end? Kinda sudden and strange tbh (with what he ends up doing to get Kash out of prison) 🙈
Kash? I’ll be honest. Not my favorite. Granted, he had a lot of inner battles throughout the story and didn’t want to let anyone TRULY in, but I appreciate his unique sense of loyalty? Even though infidelity was technically involved here, I enjoyed the resolution of it all. Very progressive and refreshing.
Also, if this was a tv show, Twila would deserve an award, bc you go girl. I loved her free-spirited nature, and how her selfless version of love held no restrictions or bounds when it came to Kash and what he was struggling to navigate. He was LUCKY to have her, boy. I would LOVE to see how the three of them navigate parenthood, honestly, because sheesh. VERY surprised about that trope sneakily making an appearance. 🙈
And special shout out to Carmen and Ducky. Great supporting characters, although their dialogues were usually minimal. It’s refreshing to have a group of chosen family, so this paired with the rockstar trope really well.

This was a great rockstar romance with some very thought provoking situations.
I honestly love all of this authors writing. The descriptive writing, the emotional impact, the characters depth, and the plot are always perfectly done. I have to say that this one might be one of my favorites tho. I grew up during a time when people had to hide who they were, had to put on a show to save face with others, and this story touched down on that very well. I love when I go into a book expecting something short and spicy but end up with something quite a bit more.
This book is raw, reckless, and so charged with sexual tension you’ll feel it like bass in your bones.
Kash is the perfect storm...self destructive, magnetic, and achingly loyal. Motley? He’s danger with a smirk, all hard muscle, filthy mouth, and the kind of possessiveness that makes your knees weak. Put them together and you get scenes that are pure combustion. Hungry kisses against cold metal, breathless confessions between thrusts, and control games that toe the line between pleasure and pain.
Twila and Carmen round out the chaos with their own fire, but make no mistake...this book belongs to Kash and Motley. Their push & pull is addictive. Every time they’re in a room together, you know something’s about to happen, and you can’t turn away. Even the quiet moments between them feel dangerous, like a lit match hovering over gasoline.
This isn’t a soft, sweet romance. It’s sweaty, jealous, obsessive, and unapologetically filthy. It’s sex in a locked room with the risk of getting caught. It’s the aftertaste of whiskey and sin.
The Broken Muse is a found family made up of misfits who came together because they love music. And they have come to love one another and work really well together, even their manager. It’s a rockstar romance with a dark twist.
Kash is the lead singer who in the public eye is in a relationship with Twyla who he calls his best friend and soulmate. But his heart really belongs to Motley, the drummer of the band. Their bond and love is so beautiful and pure.
With the fear of going public with his sexuality emotions run high. Secrets are revealed. A dirty photographer trying to expose them. The plot and storyline is exciting and fast paced. Just when you think you it’s ending one way, surprise! Oh and the spice is hot!!!
5⭐️3.5🌶️ THIS BOOK!! OMG I was obsessed after just the prologue.
Normally I’m not into books with cheating in the mix, but AB Cynthe handled it so tastefully and—honestly—so heartwarmingly that I couldn’t stop reading. Also, this was my first Rockstar romance and now I’m hooked because the vibes? Immaculate.
This is MM with a few MF/MMF scenes and… that MMF scene? Yeah, you’re gonna need a cold shower. 🔥
The chemistry between Kash & Motley was electric. Their love felt so true, so pure, you could feel it in every single interaction. And the dynamic between Kash, Twila & Motley? One of my absolute favorite parts. Twila’s unconditional love and support had me tearing up more than once.
The LGBTQ+ representation was so good. Even though it’s just over 200 pages, it’s packed with emotion, heat, and moments that stick with you. The ending completely blindsided me in the best way, and I’m desperate for more of these characters. 214 pages simply wasn’t enough.
This was a twisted delight. This book had a roller coaster of emotions. Kash and Mötley go through so much. I can honestly say I did not see that ending coming. This book was well written. I love this story. We all portray ourselves in a way in our head and think the whole world sees us that way as well when in reality people are more understanding than we give them credit for. I love that this was an HEA. But that ending, I need more. Possible book 2?
This book was outstanding! I felt the heat between the MCs and how much they cared for each other. The story really made me feel like i was a part of each presentation that the band had. It was honestly amazing how Ab's mind works.
Definitely do not take the trigger warnings lightly and please read with caution if the trigger warnings are a hard stop for you.
Thank you Ab. Cynthe for the opportunity to review this book as an early copy!
Tropes: •rockstar romance •secret relationship •MM / MF / MMF •found family •touch him and 🔪
Such a great and quick read! I was hooked from the very beginning. The dynamic between Kash and Motley was 🤌🏼 but the dynamic between Twila and the boys was even better. She not only accepted them but helped Kash to accept himself, it was so endearing.
Yet another banger from AB Cynthe!! This was so good, I devoured it!! Kash & Motley were so 🥺🥺 I love them! Well I loved the entire cast of characters! I enjoyed that this was a Rockstar romance that actually included a lot of performing in it; not just being told that they're Rockstars.
The ride of emotions I went through reading this story ranged from happy to gripping my kindle through the chaos to tears at the end. The absolute twist at the end had me shook and I was not expecting it at all. This book was perfectly mixed with spice, banter, darkness and secrets. Thank you for sending me this arc! I throughly enjoyed it.
i LOVE rockstars😫🫶🏻 there’s just something about kash and his crazy possessiveness towards the end that did it for me. like that was so sweet and heartfelt if he’s not like that then i don’t want him 🤩🫣 and the ENDING?? everything i wanted and more but i hope this isn’t the last of my rockstar daddies 😭🫶🏻
I couldn’t put this down! This amazing book went everywhere. From sweet, so spicy, and then really dark! My absolute favorite kinda read. Kash and Motley… perfection! The ending… y’all, I’m still trying to pick my jaw off the floor!
4.5 ⭐️ I ended up enjoying this book more than I thought I would. this was well written and a good read. I loved how the story unfolded and it had some dark themes but I loved the intense passion in this story. I loved reading every second of this book
This Rockstar MM Romance really rocked my world. Without fail Ab. Cynthe is always here for a good time. The edgy mmc's made this feel so spicy and rough it feels real and lived in. As a gay male I absolutely ate this book up and wanted more. I will always continue to read her books MM, MF, MFM all are amazing.
This book revolves around a 80’s rock band of 3 and one of the members girlfriend. There’s a secret MM relationship. One of the band members has a dark past that does come back to bite him but the band is a family so they are there for each other. Fun book fun story with a touch of smurder!
Most of you will know I am a huge Ab Cynthe fan, and this 80s rockstar MM dark romance did not disappoint.
Kash is the lead singer of The Broken Muse, a hugely successful rock band, and his girlfriend Twila also happens to be a fan favourite. He has it all, or does he? He’s secretly in love with a certain drummer and doesn’t want to be exposed.
Motley is the drummer of the band. Former prison gang member trying to better himself, which is hard with a stalker who is threatening to share some saucy polaroids. He’s in love with Kash and can’t stand seeing him with Twila. After the band go camping for a break some events turn bloody and Motley and Kash find themselves closer than ever.
This book isn’t what I thought it was going to be, but I still enjoyed it. I love the chemistry between Kash, Motley and eventually Twila 🥵
This was fast paced with a few little twists thrown in too. At one point I thought Twila or Ducky were going to be the ones behind the polaroids but I was wrong…or was I?
It did feel a bit rushed/repetitive in some places and the ending threw me a bit, but it didn’t ruin the book overall and I would still definitely recommend this for anyone who loves MM dark romance.
Loverboy releases 15 August 🖤💙

🎤 Rockstar Romance 🥁 Secret Relationship 🎤 MMF 🥁 Dark Romance 🎤 Sing For Me 🥁 Touch Them and Die 🎤 Possessive MCs 🥁 Dark Secrets 🎤 Found Family
THIS BOOK. I am absolutely obsessed. From the very beginning, it had me hooked, and I could not put it down for a second. Normally I shy away from stories that involve cheating, but AB Cynthe wrote it with such care, honesty, and raw emotion that it felt not only believable but heartwarming. It made me feel so much, and that’s when I knew this story was something special.
This was also my very first Rockstar romance and now? Consider me addicted; the vibes were immaculate. The energy, the music, the passion; it all just jumped off the page. And let’s talk about the romance: the MM relationship between Kash and Mötley was pure electricity. Every single interaction between them was so charged, so emotional, it felt like I was right there experiencing it with them. And then the dynamic between Kash, Mötley, and Twila? Honestly one of the best parts of the whole book. Twila’s unconditional love and support broke me in the best way; I teared up more than once because of her.
The spice? Perfection. That MMF scene? I needed to take a moment to breathe after reading it. 🔥 It was that good. But it’s not just about the heat; this book packed so much heart, so much depth, and so much representation into just over 200 pages. The LGBTQ+ rep was beautifully done, and it added so much authenticity to the story.
And that ending… wow. I did not see it coming at all, but it was brilliant. I loved that we still got our HEA, but I closed the book feeling both satisfied and desperate for more. I’m already hoping for a book two because 214 pages simply wasn’t enough time with these characters I’ve completely fallen in love with.
This book gave me a rollercoaster of emotions, a new favorite rockstar couple, and one of the most addictive reading experiences I’ve had in a long time. I loved every word, and I already want to reread it just to relive it all over again.
"He wasn’t just my heaven, but my own little personal embodiment of hell sent to torture me. But I fucking loved it. Go on. Drag me to hell, songbird. Let’s burn together." . . Read if you like:
AB Cynthe never fails to pull me in. Loverboy was so damn good.
From the roudy rockstar enery. To the heartbreak and mental struggles. To shared dark secrets and a past that wanted to be forgotten. And, an amazing found family with loyalty like none other. This book will have your mind in a chokehold. And, don't even get me started on that ending 🤯🤯 I seriously never saw that coming, but I absolutely LOVED it!!
At first, I wasn't sure what to expect relationship wise. I thought maybe we were getting an mmf book... which it fit in a sense, but the MM aspect was front and center, baby! And it was 🤌🤌 Kash and Motley were absolute FIRE! Their relationship and the lengths they went to protect one another was beautiful.
And Twila was just this gorgeous, beautiful being, seriously just an amazing character who LOVED these boys so hard and was in their corner every step of the way. You just couldn't help but love her.
“It’s not wrong. It’s beautiful, Kash. And what you and Motley have is beautiful. Who cares what the rest of the fucking world thinks? We love you. Your family loves and accepts you. And I know there are plenty of people out there who would feel the same!"
And, I also have to mention how close the band was, including Ducky, their manager. They created this beautiful little family that I really enjoyed watching interact. It was just so fun and heartwarming.
Dark MM / MMF rockstar romance with tropes like secret relationship and found family.
Was this book different than I expected? Yes. Did I still enjoy it? Mostly yes.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Kash and Motley. They were hot together and in my opinion, their struggles with the secret relationship, trying to keep their true selves hidden from the public, etc. were well written.
The relationship between Kash and Twila reminded me of Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin, like how she was the love of his life and soulmate, and they had this deep bond and connection despite everything that happened.
The scene with Kash, Motley and Twila all together was great, and I liked how Twila was able to figure things out about Kash & Motley’s relationship during that.
Some parts were a bit repetitive and at times I would have loved the pacing to be a bit slower so that there would have been more time to explore the things (for example how the characters were feeling) a bit more. The ending was a bit meh for me, but otherwise I liked the storyline.
Please check the TW/CW before reading!
“Admit it, songbird. The thrill of getting caught only adds to the excitement of it all.” “I don’t regret what we have. I-I regret that I can’t have more.” “The world isn’t kind to things that are different. And I—we’re different. I wish I could just sit here and say fuck it all, but I can’t.” “People look down on anyone who’s different, who loves differently, like loving someone outside their written norm is a sin or wrong.”
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
Bust out the Aqua Net, get your damn glam on, and fill those Zippos for the power ballads, Ab. Cynthe is taking you to the 80’s and it is bitchin!!! We’re talking sex, drugs, rock’n’roll, and one of the most on fire, heart stopping, tear shedding, ax wielding, completely beautiful, ANYTHING for him MM romances out there with a whole awesome vibe all its own that will literally floor you with how straight up amazing it is. With a few hair tosses and some serious stage presence you are all in and totally hooked on everything The Broken Muse and completely obsessed with Kash and Motley and I don’t mean just a little, I mean psycho obsessed. These two broken boys take you on the tour of a lifetime and rock you to your core in a read filled with possessiveness, the kind of protectiveness that melts you to the floor, heat that has you going up in flames, hurt and heartbreak, comfort and safety, a best friend that is good to her core and has you vying for a spot next to her and in her heart, the ultimate in found family, and actual jaw dropping anything for him moves that thrill you to your core. These two will own you, devour you, and leave you panting for an encore, in a spectacular must read from the always brilliant mind of AB. Cynthe, that someone will have to pry from your cold dead hands because you will never, ever wanna put it down.
I’m feeling very conflicted about this one, there were things I really liked about it and others that I struggled with. The cheating trope is not for me, and I feel like this is what really got me. While there was a lot of self discovery and self acceptance, which was the root cause of the cheating, it still doesn’t make it right. I know Kash was going through a lot internally, but he really treated Motley & Twila like crap because of it. I definitely struggled with that. I was rooting for Kash & Motley to be free from the confines of judgement & society, to be free and open with their love. I just don’t like how we finally got there. I did love how open and accepting Twila was, but honestly baby girl deserved better. Kash did her dirty. The fact she had to literally pull out of Kash that he didn’t love her, that he kept denying it even after she came to her own conclusion and told him she was supportive just kinda sucked. And also sucked for Motley, to continuously hear Kash’s denial in openly loving him. Kash had a lot to work through, and I’m glad it all worked out in the end. Although the ending did seem a bit rushed to me.
All in all, it was a fun rockstar romance. And I love Cyn’s books, they’re always such a fun, spicy time and I can’t wait to see what she serves us next! Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read this one!
I really liked the concept of this book, but I was left wanting more.
Kash is the lead singer and guitarist of The Broken Muse, an 80s rock band. He flaunts his relationship with Twila for all to see including bringing her on stage with them at the end of the shows. What most people don't know is that Kash may love Twila, but he is in love with the band's drummer, Motley. Kash feels the pressure to fit the rock star image though and he has to determine how far he will go to protect his and Motley's secrets and what he will do to protect his band.
I really liked the concept of the book. I can definitely see why Kash might have felt pressured to conform to the rock 'n roll stereotype of being with hot women. Unfortunately, I did not feel very connected to Kash. I didn't particularly like how he treated Twila especially. Their relationship did seem reminiscent of Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin, but I felt like Kash led Twila on. Kash also made a lot of claims about wanting to protect Twila, Motley, and/or Carmen, but a lot of the things he did in the name of protecting them also benefited him. I did like the tension between Kash and Motley and I really liked Motley's character. I also really liked how Twila was so supportive of Kash no matter what the situation. The pacing of the book also felt very strange. Some parts felt like they dragged while others felt rushed.
After MONTHS of just reading extreme horror and splatterpunk, I got back to romance and what an amazing way to come back!!!
Loverboy tells us the story about The Broken Muse, a rock band that’s building their way up, they have their solid fan base and people who love them deeply. It’s also the story about Kash and Motley’s love. A love Kash thinks it should be hidden because people won’t accept it.
This is my first AB Cynthe book, and I’m HOOKED! It’s so well written and beautiful, the way the story unfolds keeps you interested and wanting to know more. I don’t know which POV I love the most Kash’s or Motley’s I just fell in love with both (lucky Twila, girl!!). As a person who can’t live without music and who enjoys going to concerts so much, this book touched a special place in my heart, the way Cynthe describes the shows, god! Made me remember every single concert I went to, the feeling of watching your favorite band, the intense emotion, the goosebumps that cover your body when your favorite song starts to play. Yes, the book presents the show from the band’s POV but still. *sighs* just beautiful.
If you’re looking for a good MM (MMF???) romance, this is the book for you. My boy Kash is just dreamy, he would do anything to protect his band, his family. And trust me, you need this story in your life. It’s a warm hug directly to your heart

At first I wasn’t too sure because there is cheating and that is one trope I hate… but it was written so modestly and beautifully! Trust me yall gonna be sweatin 🥵
This is a MM with a few MF/MMF scenes and let me tell you.. gurrllllll 😮💨 ima need to go take a cold shower now • • I loved the chemistry between Kash and Motley you could truly feel how much they cared for each other.
Kash was truly a sweetheart always looking out for others and wanting to make everyone else happy, while sacrificing his own happiness.
Motley was a true supporter and only wanting to keep Kash happy and following his lead. Also while sacrificing his own happiness, but as long as he had Kash in his life he was happy.
And the explosive dynamic between Kash, Twila, & Motley! Goodness! I was blown away by Twila’s unconditional love and support. She definitely made me wanna cry a few times. • • • I have to admit this story blew me away. In all the best possible ways! The way everything tied in together, you get a little bit of everything. This short story definitely packed a punch! 🤛
📚📚📚 The way I binged this one like I had no responsibilities 😅 I just couldn’t put it down! Kash and Motley absolutely rocked my heart and their chemistry was just so powerful!! These two are truly so protective of each other and I just adored that with MCs. The way Motley would talk to Kash just had me with hearts in my eyes! The “Sing for me” got me every time!! Twila was just amazing and left me with no words! I just want more 😩😍 Overall by the end I was obsessed and totally recommend.
