We are The Broken MuseThe crowd shouts as I smile, hugging my girl close. I twirl her around the stage, feeding their cheers while planting a show-stopping kiss on her sinfully red lips. Our fans scream at our love, both excited and envious of what we have. But little do they know that, in spite of the goddess wrapped in my arms, my eyes look past her and gaze into those of another. My loverboy.
This is a dark rockstar romance. Please check triggers prior to reading.

First thing I will say is that this is marketed as a MM romance, but it most definitely IS NOT!! This is MM/MF/MMF I do not like that it is marketed as MM, because the MM couple barely have a relationship without the FMC involved one way or another. Other than that, the story was decent (a bit predictable) but I personally had a hard time with the fact it’s not MM. The audio book is also meh
Loverboy is a dark rockstar romance with the perfect amount of sex, drugs, and rock n roll vibes. The band dynamic, as well as the relationship dynamics, were spot on. Kash and Motley were pure 🔥🔥 together and I loved how supportive Twila was. This was such a fun read and that ending surprised the hell out of me!

idc what anyone says this was so good. for it to be a short book, it was packed with a ton of stuff happening. and the smut was 🤭🤭🤭 so so good. i absolutely LOVE Motley & Kash!! i can’t believe this book isn’t talked about more!
i will say i thought this was only mm romance going into it but it’s definitely MM/MMF/MF .. & there is cheating involved so if that’s not your thing you shouldn’t read this one.
4.5⭐️ I got an arc, but my rating/review are my own!
this is my favourite work of the author so far!!! and still no words for how much i loved this one!!! normally I read my books in one sitting but I've been working so I start the books before work and then finish after work and the way I was only thinking about this book the whole day is not even funny!!! this one made me feel so much abd did I cry??😭😭😭 yessss I did😭😭😭
Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC and provide my opinion!
I read this short and steamy dark rockstar romance in one sitting! Kash and Motley had great chemistry physically and such an emotional and complicated connection. Twila was so supportive - it was really a standout part of the book for me.
There were so many twists and turns of this book that Ab. Cynthe kept me guessing what was going to happen next!
If you like the following, you’ll enjoy this book: -Dark Romance -Rockstar Romance -MM Romance -MF Romance -MMF Romance -Found Family -Possessive MMCs -Secret Relationship -Touch Them and Die -Dark Secrets -Sing for Me
• Another AB book ☑️ I totally fell in love with these two INSTANTLY. Their chemistry is everything, it’s fiery, and honestly I wish I was a part of the Broken Muse. They’re just so cool. These two beautiful men. And the girlies obviously rock too, little baddies. The family band dynamic, the banter, the support.
• The push and pull of their relationship. The filthy words, the stolen moments. Gah. I was on the hook so fast and never wanted to be let go. My heart hurt for both of them at different parts as they battled with their own crap. But their love was so real and so damn deep.
• Absolutely delectable, Kash & Motley are now rocketed up to some of my favs. And I’m a fangirl forever. Where do I get my band tee.
Ya can't say Kash doesn't get it done. Throughout this whole book, he tore himself apart to try to protect everyone. Ignoring everything he was losing and all the damage he was doing to himself in the process. Definitely a good read.
3.75 🌟 I’m struggling to find the words for this one TBH - because there were things I really liked, and things that felt rushed and impacted the overall reading experience (but I did know I was walking into a short standalone, so there’s that lol).
I loved the spice in this one, and the resolution to the romantic plot in itself (but the punny music references were not it for me, and they happened constantly 💀).
Motley? Adore him. Sweet bb boy. But the twist at the end? Kinda sudden and strange tbh (with what he ends up doing to get Kash out of prison) 🙈
Kash? I’ll be honest. Not my favorite. Granted, he had a lot of inner battles throughout the story and didn’t want to let anyone TRULY in, but I appreciate his unique sense of loyalty? Even though infidelity was technically involved here, I enjoyed the resolution of it all. Very progressive and refreshing.
Also, if this was a tv show, Twila would deserve an award, bc you go girl. I loved her free-spirited nature, and how her selfless version of love held no restrictions or bounds when it came to Kash and what he was struggling to navigate. He was LUCKY to have her, boy. I would LOVE to see how the three of them navigate parenthood, honestly, because sheesh. VERY surprised about that trope sneakily making an appearance. 🙈
And special shout out to Carmen and Ducky. Great supporting characters, although their dialogues were usually minimal. It’s refreshing to have a group of chosen family, so this paired with the rockstar trope really well.

ok so much happened?? murder, dismemberment, prison gangs, threesomes, and now a throuple baby?? i love her writing so much bc it’s all consuming without being overwhelming. motley just wanted to be an out couple with kash and he was essentially a side piece for multiple years while he had to watch kash and twila flaunt their relationship on stage and he can’t do anything about it. cut to them killing guy WITH AN AXE and chopping up his body and trying to burn his car, but can’t and go on and pretend like nothing happened with they’re on the rest of their tour. and then for kash to confess to a crime that he didn’t even do btw, all out of love for motley to protect him from going back to prison bc SURPRISE he was in a gang. like truly so much is happening and i loved it all. kash finds out that the same xavier who was blackmailing guy to photograph kash and motley is the same xavier who is in prison with kash so obvi he has to die. blah blah blah solitary for 12 weeks and now motley is there to get him out bc surprise!! he’s the new gang leader and he has all these connections so kash and him are walking off into the sunset together. another surprise!! TWILA IS PREGNANT! and ofc they don’t know who the actual dad is bc SURPRISE! she got pregnant the night of their threesome and ofc no condoms were involved so it’s the aforementioned throuple baby. this is one of the rare times where i actually wish i got an epilogue bc i wanna see them all happy and glowy as a family. it would’ve been so cute. i’m curious as to how their band is doing since the two main guys are in prison (well not really anymore). truly crazy and i loved it. doesn’t quite compare to “mean one” though, that one was truly crazyyyy.

This was a great rockstar romance with some very thought provoking situations.
I honestly love all of this authors writing. The descriptive writing, the emotional impact, the characters depth, and the plot are always perfectly done. I have to say that this one might be one of my favorites tho. I grew up during a time when people had to hide who they were, had to put on a show to save face with others, and this story touched down on that very well. I love when I go into a book expecting something short and spicy but end up with something quite a bit more.
This book is raw, reckless, and so charged with sexual tension you’ll feel it like bass in your bones.
Kash is the perfect storm...self destructive, magnetic, and achingly loyal. Motley? He’s danger with a smirk, all hard muscle, filthy mouth, and the kind of possessiveness that makes your knees weak. Put them together and you get scenes that are pure combustion. Hungry kisses against cold metal, breathless confessions between thrusts, and control games that toe the line between pleasure and pain.
Twila and Carmen round out the chaos with their own fire, but make no mistake...this book belongs to Kash and Motley. Their push & pull is addictive. Every time they’re in a room together, you know something’s about to happen, and you can’t turn away. Even the quiet moments between them feel dangerous, like a lit match hovering over gasoline.
This isn’t a soft, sweet romance. It’s sweaty, jealous, obsessive, and unapologetically filthy. It’s sex in a locked room with the risk of getting caught. It’s the aftertaste of whiskey and sin.
5⭐️3.5🌶️ THIS BOOK!! OMG I was obsessed after just the prologue.
Normally I’m not into books with cheating in the mix, but AB Cynthe handled it so tastefully and—honestly—so heartwarmingly that I couldn’t stop reading. Also, this was my first Rockstar romance and now I’m hooked because the vibes? Immaculate.
This is MM with a few MF/MMF scenes and… that MMF scene? Yeah, you’re gonna need a cold shower. 🔥
The chemistry between Kash & Motley was electric. Their love felt so true, so pure, you could feel it in every single interaction. And the dynamic between Kash, Twila & Motley? One of my absolute favorite parts. Twila’s unconditional love and support had me tearing up more than once.
The LGBTQ+ representation was so good. Even though it’s just over 200 pages, it’s packed with emotion, heat, and moments that stick with you. The ending completely blindsided me in the best way, and I’m desperate for more of these characters. 214 pages simply wasn’t enough.
This was a twisted delight. This book had a roller coaster of emotions. Kash and Mötley go through so much. I can honestly say I did not see that ending coming. This book was well written. I love this story. We all portray ourselves in a way in our head and think the whole world sees us that way as well when in reality people are more understanding than we give them credit for. I love that this was an HEA. But that ending, I need more. Possible book 2?
This book was outstanding! I felt the heat between the MCs and how much they cared for each other. The story really made me feel like i was a part of each presentation that the band had. It was honestly amazing how Ab's mind works.
Definitely do not take the trigger warnings lightly and please read with caution if the trigger warnings are a hard stop for you.
Thank you Ab. Cynthe for the opportunity to review this book as an early copy!
This was a solid 4.5⭐️ for me. Ab really captured the sex, drugs, and rock and roll vibe with this one. If you’re hoping for spice with this one with a dash of plot you’ve come to the right book 😈😈 The character growth of each one of the characters felt very organic, they had legit fears, trauma, and worries for themselves and each other. I loved the bands dynamic where they were all one big supportive family for each other, but still weren’t afraid to call each other on their shit. Twila was an absolute angel, and Ducky was that protective father figure over everybody. Carmen was just a bad ass and I loved her wild self. The relationship between Kash and Motley had me screaming one minute and melting the next because those two together were explosive and willing to do whatever it takes to protect each other…and that ending?! Well that was a twist I didn’t see coming
Yet another banger from AB Cynthe!! This was so good, I devoured it!! Kash & Motley were so 🥺🥺 I love them! Well I loved the entire cast of characters! I enjoyed that this was a Rockstar romance that actually included a lot of performing in it; not just being told that they're Rockstars.
The ride of emotions I went through reading this story ranged from happy to gripping my kindle through the chaos to tears at the end. The absolute twist at the end had me shook and I was not expecting it at all. This book was perfectly mixed with spice, banter, darkness and secrets. Thank you for sending me this arc! I throughly enjoyed it.
i LOVE rockstars😫🫶🏻 there’s just something about kash and his crazy possessiveness towards the end that did it for me. like that was so sweet and heartfelt if he’s not like that then i don’t want him 🤩🫣 and the ENDING?? everything i wanted and more but i hope this isn’t the last of my rockstar daddies 😭🫶🏻
I couldn’t put this down! This amazing book went everywhere. From sweet, so spicy, and then really dark! My absolute favorite kinda read. Kash and Motley… perfection! The ending… y’all, I’m still trying to pick my jaw off the floor!
4.5 ⭐️ I ended up enjoying this book more than I thought I would. this was well written and a good read. I loved how the story unfolded and it had some dark themes but I loved the intense passion in this story. I loved reading every second of this book
This Rockstar MM Romance really rocked my world. Without fail Ab. Cynthe is always here for a good time. The edgy mmc's made this feel so spicy and rough it feels real and lived in. As a gay male I absolutely ate this book up and wanted more. I will always continue to read her books MM, MF, MFM all are amazing.
This book revolves around a 80’s rock band of 3 and one of the members girlfriend. There’s a secret MM relationship. One of the band members has a dark past that does come back to bite him but the band is a family so they are there for each other. Fun book fun story with a touch of smurder!
The Broken Muse is a found family made up of misfits who came together because they love music. And they have come to love one another and work really well together, even their manager. It’s a rockstar romance with a dark twist.
Kash is the lead singer who in the public eye is in a relationship with Twyla who he calls his best friend and soulmate. But his heart really belongs to Motley, the drummer of the band. Their bond and love is so beautiful and pure.
With the fear of going public with his sexuality emotions run high. Secrets are revealed. A dirty photographer trying to expose them. The plot and storyline is exciting and fast paced. Just when you think you it’s ending one way, surprise! Oh and the spice is hot!!!
Tropes: •rockstar romance •secret relationship •MM / MF / MMF •found family •touch him and 🔪
Such a great and quick read! I was hooked from the very beginning. The dynamic between Kash and Motley was 🤌🏼 but the dynamic between Twila and the boys was even better. She not only accepted them but helped Kash to accept himself, it was so endearing.
Most of you will know I am a huge Ab Cynthe fan, and this 80s rockstar MM dark romance did not disappoint.
Kash is the lead singer of The Broken Muse, a hugely successful rock band, and his girlfriend Twila also happens to be a fan favourite. He has it all, or does he? He’s secretly in love with a certain drummer and doesn’t want to be exposed.
Motley is the drummer of the band. Former prison gang member trying to better himself, which is hard with a stalker who is threatening to share some saucy polaroids. He’s in love with Kash and can’t stand seeing him with Twila. After the band go camping for a break some events turn bloody and Motley and Kash find themselves closer than ever.
This book isn’t what I thought it was going to be, but I still enjoyed it. I love the chemistry between Kash, Motley and eventually Twila 🥵
This was fast paced with a few little twists thrown in too. At one point I thought Twila or Ducky were going to be the ones behind the polaroids but I was wrong…or was I?
It did feel a bit rushed/repetitive in some places and the ending threw me a bit, but it didn’t ruin the book overall and I would still definitely recommend this for anyone who loves MM dark romance.
Loverboy releases 15 August 🖤💙

THIS BOOK. I am absolutely obsessed. From the very beginning, it had me hooked, and I could not put it down for a second. Normally I shy away from stories that involve cheating, but AB Cynthe wrote it with such care, honesty, and raw emotion that it felt not only believable but heartwarming. It made me feel so much, and that’s when I knew this story was something special.
This was also my very first Rockstar romance and now? Consider me addicted; the vibes were immaculate. The energy, the music, the passion; it all just jumped off the page. And let’s talk about the romance: the MM relationship between Kash and Mötley was pure electricity. Every single interaction between them was so charged, so emotional, it felt like I was right there experiencing it with them. And then the dynamic between Kash, Mötley, and Twila? Honestly one of the best parts of the whole book. Twila’s unconditional love and support broke me in the best way; I teared up more than once because of her.
The spice? Perfection. That MMF scene? I needed to take a moment to breathe after reading it. 🔥 It was that good. But it’s not just about the heat; this book packed so much heart, so much depth, and so much representation into just over 200 pages. The LGBTQ+ rep was beautifully done, and it added so much authenticity to the story.
And that ending… wow. I did not see it coming at all, but it was brilliant. I loved that we still got our HEA, but I closed the book feeling both satisfied and desperate for more. I’m already hoping for a book two because 214 pages simply wasn’t enough time with these characters I’ve completely fallen in love with.
This book gave me a rollercoaster of emotions, a new favorite rockstar couple, and one of the most addictive reading experiences I’ve had in a long time. I loved every word, and I already want to reread it just to relive it all over again.
I did actually decide to finish this book. While I was not a fan of Kash for a lot of the story, I did end up liking it overall. There were points where I found every character frustrating, but there were also parts that genuinely moved me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars
Loverboy by Ab. Cynthe
Kash annoyed me. This is not the first book I have read that involves cheating. I have loved books with that trope where you feel anguished for the MCs for the hurt that they are causing the person they are cheating on but they just can’t help being with the person they love. I have cried for the characters in those books and while enjoying the HEA it seemed bittersweet for the person left behind. The point it I felt connected and cared.
Kash just seemed selfish. I understand that he is maintaining the band by remaining in the closet but what about Twila? Couldn’t he have a beard? She seemed nice enough (a bit spineless) why didn’t he at least let her in on his feelings. Or at least fake a FWB relationship. It just seemed mean. I mean if she is his other half, his best friend what a shitty friend he is.
What made the conflict hard for me to connect with was how avoidable it felt. There are several alternatives that I can think of just off the top of my head that would have allowed everyone involved to make informed, consensual choices, whether that meant a beard arrangement, a fake FWB relationship, or simply being honest with Twila about his feelings. Instead of feeling tragic or emotionally inevitable, the angst started to feel manufactured, which made it hard for me to emotionally invest in Kash or the relationship dynamics. At times, the situation just felt unnecessarily mean.
I might try this again at another point but this isn’t working for me right now.
