Grace Wright came to live with her aunt in the small town of Kent, following the tragic loss of her parents. Hoping for a fresh start, while adjusting to rural town living, the last thing she expected was a spectral killer dressed as the local high school mascot, targeting the young people of the town.
Reliance on technology, and instant communication in the palm of our hand begs the question, what happens when the only way to call for help, is to scream... and hope someone is listening.
Pep Rallies, Parades, Hometown Games, school spirit and murder. It’s Homecoming in the small, rural town of Kent.
You will like this book if you are a fan of the movie “Scream”. Centered around some trauma filled high schoolers, it keeps you guessing until the end.
A haunting mystery horror that will keep you guessing.
I'm not usually an avid horror reader, but this book hooked me fast and kept me guessing. The descriptions are visceral and the author does a great job of creating a suspenseful atmosphere.
Highly recommended if you like horror or even want to test out a new genre and don't get squeamish around gory depictions of violence.
Oh my goodness! Adam’s book had be on edge! There were moments where I had suspicions of some people being the murderer.. but then it was who I least suspected.. AND THE ENDING? AHHHH!! Was so goooood! 😍
🏈📣 Homecoming isn’t just a football game… it’s a hunt.
Small town horror always hits differently, and Homecoming by Adam Myles captures that unsettling feeling of thinking you know everyone until something wearing the face of hometown tradition starts killing. Grace is trying to rebuild her life after unimaginable loss, hoping a quiet rural town will offer a fresh start. Instead, she’s thrown into a nightmare where school spirit, hometown pride, and a terrifying supernatural killer collide. The concept of a mascot becoming the embodiment of fear is brilliantly creepy, and it transforms familiar traditions into something sinister. What I enjoyed most was how the novel blends classic slasher energy with supernatural horror while still giving readers characters worth rooting for. The atmosphere feels isolated, tense, and increasingly claustrophobic as the danger grows. Every pep rally, parade, and football event carries an underlying sense of dread that keeps the pages turning.

I picked up Homecoming on a whim. The cover practically screamed "read me," and seeing that it was written by an indie author made it an easy choice. I'm so glad I gave it a chance because it absolutely did not disappoint.
Just when I thought I could relax and that everything was finally going to be okay, another twist or shocking turn would pull me right back in. Adam Myles does an excellent job of building tension and keeping the reader guessing from beginning to end.
One of my favorite things about this book was the vivid detail. The writing made it easy to picture every scene as it unfolded, and the descriptions were so immersive that I felt like I was right there alongside the characters. Even during the most intense and gruesome moments, the level of detail added to the story rather than taking away from it.
As someone who has always loved slasher movies, Homecoming gave me major Scream vibes. It's a fast-paced, suspenseful horror novel packed with tension, memorable kills, and plenty of surprises. If you're a fan of slashers and enjoy supporting indie authors, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
Adam Myles has crafted a phenomenal slasher that keeps you on edge from start to finish. The atmosphere is incredibly tense, and the modern twist on the genre feels fresh and genuinely chilling. The visceral descriptions and the mystery of the Kent mascot make it a total page-turner. I highly recommend this to any horror fan, and I cannot wait to see what this author releases next!
