When the school year starts, Ashlee Hayden is assigned to mentor Tyler Silas, the new teacher, sparking a program that could help her colleagues and supervisor. Ashlee, wanting to make a mark on the school that thrived because of the legacy left by her grandmother, manages her various responsibilities as a leader and a single mother. But when her home life starts to change and her professional relationships start to blur as she starts to develop a intimacy with her mentee, she is forced to embark on a lesson of learning to let go of the control she had placed on the parameters of her life in order to live a fulfilling life.

Tyler Silas, a former medical student carving his own way away from his father's influence, has a fresh start as the new teacher at Midwest Academy. After the disappointment he's felt from his failed medical career fades, and he begins to develop feelings for his mentor, Ashlee, he scrambles to support his family as tragic changes threaten to reveal the jaded perspective he has of his familial relationships. He soon learns to understand that the most important thing is keeping the bonds that have supported him.

Teach Me has the tropes that we all love: workplace romance, age gap (OWYM), single mom & he falls first.

Tyler is the newest teacher on the block and Ashlee is his assigned mentor for the school year. Immediately they’re giving each other subtle glances, yearning, and thinking “what if”. It could all be so easy but Ashlee gives her all to her work & family. Now there are some things making her question if she’s really been living or avoiding.

This was a beautiful story, and I just wish the ending had been fleshed out a bit more. We end with the couple having a conversation then jump to a few months later. Everything is concluded but something felt missing. And also would have liked for Tyler and Ashlee to have a more in depth conversation about her feelings towards relationships/children for us readers to really understand her reactions at times.

There are some difficult topics being discussed like: terminal illness, pregnancy complications, family dynamics etc.

Thanks to the author for an opportunity to review an ARC. All thoughts are my own!

Nice work- quick and satisfying

Tyler and Ashlee's love story is fast-paced with fair descriptions of the characters. When authors describe the characters properly, I can envision them better so I that I can actually remember them. I liked how the love interests had chemistry. The dialogue was realistic and helped to push the plot highlighted some serious issues that needed more attention, but this is a novella. I wish the emotional parts to the in-law's issues were fleshed out more, especially the Silas family issues. I appreciate the main characters' conversations about their relationship, but, again, I would have loved to see more introspection.
I am not a fan of spice, but the spice scenes were not raunchy or over the top but described just enough to fit the personalities of the main characters.
Finally, apart from the typos, this is a quick and satisfying read if you want to relax with a 'forbidden' romance between teachers who have realistic family issues and who make it work.

Single mom + new coworker + instant chemistry 👀 Cute, drama-filled romance with family, work tension, and a MMC who steps up. Not perfect, but definitely a feel-good read.

Teacher

This book has a lovely story that even taught the teachers about love and how to create and paint it.
