The Cats of France: True Stories, Forgotten History, and Curious Trivia About French Cats is part of The Cats of The World series. I loved this book and all the pictures, stories, history, and other information. If you love cats then this book and the others in the series will keep you entertained for days.
As both a cat lover and someone who appreciates most things French, I enjoyed this book very much. It teaches several interesting tidbits of French history that you would not expect to learn from such a source, not to mention French phrases that wouldn't usually be found in a language study book. All in all, it was very educational - and fun! There were humorous anecdotes about historical figures, poems, and jokes galore.
The book also included several historical artworks that added to the experience, and cute line art drawings to balance out the chapters. The only negative I had was that it could have used a once-over from an editor to catch the few grammatical and typographical errors that remained. If those were solved, it would easily be a five-star read. Thank you to Booksprout for giving me an ARC of this book! All opinions are my own.
