Packed off to spend the summer at her family’s ancestral home in the far north of Scotland, seventeen year old Erin is not expecting too much. She is just biding her time until she turns eighteen and will inherit the small trust fund her late father left her, then she’ll be off to enjoy her freedom.
Her plans take an unexpected turn when she discovers the mysterious Scandinavian stranger who has saved her life twice is actually her bodyguard. Events start to spiral out of control as bizarre things start to happen to her and her father’s true legacy is revealed.
Armed with a magnificent sword and some rather unique skills, Erin finds herself transported into a chilling Viking world where she begins to understand the role that has been passed to her. With danger at every turn, she must try and defeat an evil sorcerer, rescue her best friend from his grasp and fight her growing feelings for a rather cute Viking prince. Nothing out the ordinary for a hormonal, twenty-first century teen.
But lurking in the shadows is the biggest secret of all, one that will truly rock her world and could alter the course of a war that has been raging for centuries.

Erin has been shipped off for the summer to her family's ancestral home in Scotland. Little did she know she would be thrown back into a world she did even know existed.

Well I was sorely disappointed in the love interest, I had a totally different direction on where I thought this was going to go and sadly I liked my direction better. It wasn't a bad story overall and did keep my interest all the way though.

I though Erin's character was funny and multi dimensional, she definitely had a strong personality that shined through.

I'm on the fence on if I will continue with the series or not though.
