His Weekend Alpha

Rate this book
A fake boyfriend. A desperate alpha. One heat that ruins everything.

Kole has loved his best friend forever—not that he'd ever say it out loud. Lawson is confident, wealthy, and totally out of his league. Kole's just the quiet omega roommate who helps pay rent. End of story.

What Kole doesn't know? Lawson's been pining just as hard, watching his best friend from across their shared apartment while pretending it doesn't kill him inside.

Until Lawson needs a fake boyfriend for his sister's wedding, and suddenly they're both getting everything they've secretly wanted—just not the way they imagined.

But then an unexpected heat hits, and Kole finds himself burning up, desperate, and helpless.

Lawson shouldn't want to help. He definitely shouldn't stay. But when the omega he's loved for years needs him, there's no going back.

Weeks of fake practice. One very real heat. Two best friends who can't tell where the act ends and their feelings begin.

His Weekend Alpha is a sweet and steamy 60k omegaverse novel featuring fake dating that becomes real, mutual pining, friends-to-lovers, an unexpected heat, knotting, accidental pregnancy, and a happily ever after that starts with "just pretending" and ends with forever. Contains Mpreg.

Lawson + Kole 🖤
Omegaverse | Best friends/idiots to lovers | Mutual pining | Fake dating

"You were a dream I never thought I could have."

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Two oblivious best friends who have been pining after the other for years.

My problem with this book is that there was one super obvious inconsistency that took me out of the story a little. They go to the doctor and are told the pregnancy is 5 weeks along. Then, a few chapters later, he's only 3 weeks along.

Dee's Grade: A-

These two are great once they get their act together. They are extremely frustrating along the way though.

This needs significant editing. Not just days, but weeks go missing.

Heat
-it’s mentioned the page prior that they had 2 weeks until the wedding, suddenly that’s gone.
-was it 1 night or 2? At one point Lawson mentions it’s been days (multiple missed calls/messages as well) but then it’s stated that it was a single night and done??

Wedding
-I still don’t know if we were supposed to like James. Lawson mentioned something about him being a better “Shaw”, but then we read about how much Aubrie loves him and vise-versa?

Romance
-they’ve been roommates for 5 years since they met at UW and Lawson is 26?

This one really made me angry.

- Kole was 5 weeks. Said 5 weeks.
- Dr. Harris said 5 weeks. Took an ultrasound at 5 weeks.
- LAWSON CALLS AUBRIE MULTIPLE DAYS AFTER THE APPOINTMENT AND SAYS 3 WEEKS.

If time was meant to be non-linear in this story, I just would’ve appreciated a heads up.

kole & lawson - 4.25 stars 🩵 i really liked this one! ive really been on an omegaverse kick (and loving it) and this one hit so many good spots for me. best friends to lovers in MM always seems to hit like a drug to me and i LOOOVE the fact that both kole and lawson were secretly pining for each other. to me, it was very realistic that neither wanted to take the plunge and admit their feelings because they had such a good friendship going and they just really didn't want to risk ruining their friendship. i lovedd to see the pining and the love the two had for each other cause to me it just made it more rewarding when they finally got to 'practice' being boyfriends, and the initial scene of kole's surprise heat that law helps him through is one of the best scenes in the whole book for sure. it was so sweet when they finally got to admit that they had real feelings for each other. this also seems like a newish author and definitely a new one to me, i really liked the writing style, it didnt seem choppy or unnatural, only slight issues that i think come with being a new author, definitely not deal breakers in my opinion at least. i enjoyed this the whole way through and am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author :)

Holy fucking shit!! First off I would just like to say I liked this a lot better than the other book I read by this author!! These two holy fuck where do I even start the pining the fake dating angst was all chefs kiss 💋 fuck Lawsons dad still hate him even though there was a hopeful ending for that I don’t care!! I’m so proud of Lawson for standing up to his dad even though it took realizing he almost lost the most important thing to him to do it but I digress. The love between these two was everything and I’m so happy they got their happy ending!!

Oh my. This book has a great premise, but I'd already read two other books by this same author and they were just as bad. So I thought I was going to hate this novel and unfortunately I was proven correct because it has the very same problems: editing mistakes (I'm begging you, author, please, use a timeline), the sex is just boring and repetitive (I don't think there's a single oral sex scene in all of her books!), and there is barely any conflict: what very little conflict there is is solved by 70% and the rest of the book is just the main characters being domestic, talking to people etc.

The lack of communication between the main characters is ridiculous at best, how do 2 people pine for each other for years whilst being roommates and still not talk to each other about their feelings (or even act on it)? So that was hard to buy.

Anyway, I personally hated this book. I only recommend it if you like ABO, boring mild sex and plotless books. If that's your thing, go for it.

This was kinda meh.
Like, it was an okay read but nothing to write home about. It needed more.... something. Anything. More drama, maybe? Either with his dad or Tyler.

I felt like Tyler was just brought in for that one spectacle that wasn't even a spectacle. He just caused a scene and left.

I wanted something more from it, especially after those threats he made. And after Lawson's dad mentioned Tyler being a better partner because of his contacts. I don't know.... more.

But then Tyler left the scene all smug and whatever, and nothing further was explored with that avenue.

I personally like that the author skipped over the whole birthing scene. But they skipped over the whole pregnancy as well. We didn't get to see what Kole (or Lawson, for that matter) was like when Kole was all round and pregnant. I think that would have been cute seeing how protective Lawson was over the pregnancy. But yeah.

Kinda okay, but also kinda flat.

Lawson and Kole have been friends and roommates for a long time. Both are in love with each other, but terrified the other will find out
It started good, with tension and pinning, despite some repetitive words.
But the amount of errors is just 2 much:

The story was good but all the little discrepancies about the timeline were annoying…

Like, the heat is one night before, or two, or the last night in the same day
They slept together 2 weeks ago, but the doctor says he’s 5 weeks pregnant, and then on the phone with his sister Lawson says 3 weeks…
Needed some editing work

interesting read

I am really enjoying this series. I also appreciate the realistic family dynamic. Kole and Lawson They had to face some trials and tribulations, but we’re finally able to admit their feelings to one another and rely on each other.

S. 4.8. Again traditional Omegaverse in a way that i loved. I cant wait for book 3. I wish the books were longer, so that i could see some of the reconciliation with his father (if it were to happen).

These two will kill me. I wanted to text them both that hey stop being silly coz you both love each other, okay? Even your c*ckblocker bff knows it. LOL! But seriously I love it. The sweetness, the drama, the surprise, YES TO EVERYTHING! I'm all for the pining. And I love the main characters.

This was ok. The characters were sweet, the romance sweet.
I love the mpreg genre.
I noticed some small inconsistencies in the story but nothing too big.
Just things like the first Dr appt 5weeks preg. Next chapter 3 weeks.
But a fluffy little story. Good epilogue.

One of the better alpha/omega stories in the sense that it takes place in a real U.S. city and the characters dealt with real life issues. However, the book seriously needs edits. Thankfully those issues weren’t so bad that I couldn’t finish it and I only docked one star for it.

This book was so bad I’m wondering if the friend who made me read it secretly hates me.
