USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
I’m giving you guys a bit of a spoiler. Just a little one. Bernadette FINALLY stood up for herself against the big bad wolf and if you read my review for book 2 you’ll probably know who I’m talking about.
Bernadette is growing within herself and seems to be gaining self assuredness. She also wrote up a business betterment proposal for Marv’s bourbon tour business. Now my hope for book 4 is that the business grows and Bernadette gets a new company uniform shirt that actually fits her properly and that she gets Jett’s own business growing in a new direction.
I also hope Bernadette continues to feel more at home in her current location and that things with Dylan aren’t too awkward. Oh, and hopefully Portia gains a modicum of respect for Bernadette and I want for Naomi to fall on her face. Oh ya, and there’s Marilyn the girl with a huge chip on her shoulder and great walls built around her. I hope Bernadette is able to bust through her walls and she gets her mom’s belongings back.
As with every daily serial Stephanie Bond has written, she again leaves us hanging at the end. It's so worth it though. Bernadette just can't catch a break but when she gets something interesting in the mail, will this be the answer she is needs to go forward with her life. Bernadette has another possible 'dad' clue, everything fits with his age, this man works in the bourbon industry and he recognized her Mom from the photo necklace that Bernadette always wear. Dare she get her hopes up again? While Bernadette tries to help another lady in her campground get away from the creepy man who works there, somehow this also backfires on her. So much happens this month and I of course don't want to give anything away, so I will leave it at....this month really was exciting, I don't want to hurry September along but I am very anxious to read the next Bourbon Girl installment!!
Bourbon Girl is a daily serial that is a story broken into daily segments and it is a lot of fun. Bernadette's mom passed away so she heads to Kentucky to try to locate her biological father who she knows nothing about except that he worked in the bourbon industry. She is living in an old RV at a campground and is trying to figure out her future. This is book 3 of 6 and takes place in September (the serial goes from July to December). This is kind of a building month so there is more down that up moments but it is interesting to see what happens next! #BoubonGirl #ADailySerial #StephanieBond
I’m catching up on this serial book (1 episode a day from July 1 to December 31). Bernadette had another possible, but it didn’t prove to be true. She’s learning that she wants a home, and friends, and connections, and shared stories. All the things that happen with families and living somewhere for a long time and building roots at a place. But she doesn’t have that. Connections are fleeting or based on incorrect perceptions.
As she prepares for each day being a bus tour guide that takes visitors on a tour of the Kentucky bourbon 🥃 distilleries, she finds she’s loving Kentucky and having some great experiences.
I am a huge fan of Stephanie’s books, and her monthly serials are truly outstanding. This one in particular has so much interesting information around the Bourbon industry on top of Bernadette’s quest to find her father. The worst part of reading them at the first of each month is that I have to wait to read more! Highly recommend!
