Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.
I have read every book in this series. All have been quick and easy read. This book is set in Paris with Harry and Kat planning a romantic trip after Harry handles some business. That is when things go sideways. Now, the race is on to save Harry, and Kat has to get help from friends. A fast-paced series starts to happen, and I couldn't wait to see how it would end. I can't wait for the next installment.
Lukijana upea Nathaniel Parker.
Have been reading Costello and Richard’s two cozy mystery series and have enjoyed their main characters and the twist and turns in the plots of their books. This is the first of any in the two series that I felt was a little flat! Not sure why but the resolution didn’t quite work for me and not sure why. But that will not keep me from waiting for their next books in the two series!
This may have been one of the most exciting reads. I was really worried for Harry, though I knew he would be saved. All three characters, Harry, Kat, and Molly, read each other perfectly.
I wonder if Branko and/or Bubbles will show up in future stories. I would really love to see Molly pop up, maybe with a beau?
This is probably Kat and Harry at their best; backs against the wall, literally in Harry's case, and fighting for their lives. They get help in the shape of a couple of friends and a former boss. And boy do they need it!
Great writing as far as it goes but I am afraid less than 150 pages does not a novel make, too many unexplained events and turns which needed at the very least some sort of expansion or explanation.
I do recommend the rest of the series but this one is NOT a COZY mystery. If it was a library loan I would’ve skipped this one once I realized the whole tone of the book and but I bought it so I did finish. It’s not that it’s a bad book, but It’s a spy thriller and that’s just not remotely what I was looking for and not what you expect from any series labeled cozy mystery. It’s just not remotely what I wanted to listen to I was looking for another cozy mystery from this series. Will still try the next one.
Nathaniel Parker does a great job as narrator as always. I especially recommend the rest of the series especially on audio as Mr. Parker has a very engaging but comforting voice and does a wonderful job.
