Another excellent book by Cassandra Doon
I was hesitant to start this book because I didn't want to get involved in nowadays geopolitical situations while enjoying my favorite relaxing past time (reading). But I shouldn't have worried because this book is set in an alternate world/reality that is similar to our world (in terms of technology etc) but also completely different.
And, in the end, I've really enjoyed this story! It was well-written, well-paced and well-thought out with enough plot twists and unexpected directions to keep me on my toes.
I loved the dynamic between Elowen and Ravyn. The progression from begrudging respect, to attraction, chemistry and feelings. These two souls are so different and yet so similar. They complete each other in a beautiful way that is all about acceptance and healing and damn that resonated with me!

This was the first book that I have read by Cassandra Doon and i absolutely rate it!!
We meet our fearless leader of Unit 9 Elowen, with the laser focus and cold precision that has kept her squads safe for seven Tours, and let me just she is a small but mighty and complete bad As$ leader.
Her second in command started off with a demotion, not the best way to start a tour coming from leading his own squads Ravyn is six feet five inches of pure muscle and a force to be reckoned with. He is full of bad attitude and is a man on a mission to proved that he doesn’t take orders well when he is used to giving them…
Honestly what could go wrong with these pair leading a squad of the best of the best in elite black ops teams in what they have dubbed a complete suicide mission… well that is until they are deep in the trenches and everything starts unraveling…
With so many twists you didn’t see coming and a romance you wanted to come… literally and figuratively..
This was a page turner that kept you wanting to know more the whole way through. So if your like me and have been dabbling in your Dark military romance add this one to your TBR it’s well worth the read…
The only pet peeve I had throughout this book was no code names… for elite black ops members to call each other by their first names not even there last names.. and not even have code names was a little odd but if you can see past that you will absolutely love the mission your about embark on.

I really liked this book. I loved the military aspect combined with some spiciness between Elowen Ava Ravyn. The desire that radiated between those two, mixed with all of the action and chaos was great. I loved that the romance didn’t overwhelm the book. It was the perfect amount. And Elowen was a strong female main character. She was a bada**and gut dive what needed to be done. The twists and turns were amazing. It had me grouping this book wanting to know what was going to happen next. I really entire the spice, the plot, and the characters.

Great Military Romance
This had me hooked from the beginning! It had the perfect amount of spice, action, storyline that made sure you were on the edge of your seat holding your breath to read what happens next. Perfect found family and badass characters that will make you swoon. The twists throughout the story were so good that it didn't see it coming! The ending wrapped everything up nicely too!

I really enjoyed this read. There are twists and turns that take you by surprise. While it is a romance, the romantic plot isn’t the main focus by any means. The action really takes center stage. I do feel like some places may have been a bit repetitive, but not to the point of distracting from the storyline. I have read several books from this author now, and I can safely say this has been my favorite so far!

I love military romance and sign me up for forbidden love as well! This book takes you on so many twists and turns you won't be able to put it down. I read this in less than 24 hour and enjoyed every second. Highly recommend if you want a fun read with plenty of drama along the way.
