NOTHING: Saving Magic Book 1

Rate this book
In a world where being a ‘Magic’ is the norm, Molly Chambers is a ‘Nothing’, the name bestowed upon those born without magic.
When Tray Harper, who is also a Nothing, moves to town halfway through his final year of High School, they quickly discover they have more than the usual things in common. Like the fact that they are both also ‘Immunes’.

Unfortunately, being immune to magic has its downside, too. The Mage Council considers Immunes a threat to the continuing stability of the magical world and has decreed they must be apprehended immediately following their exposure.
Determined not to be put down or used as lab rats, they must leave everything and everyone they’ve ever known and loved behind and run.

Faced with mind-blowing revelations and experiences way beyond any previous expectations about the future, the two must battle their way through both physical and emotional upheavals to finally learn the truth about why Immunes are hunted.

And why Molly just might happen to be special…

Filled with romance, action, suspense, and twists that will keep you guessing until the very last page, Nothing is a must read for fans of young adult urban fantasy. Don't miss the first book in this thrilling new series that will keep you reading late into the night.

So many people, at some stage in their lives, decide they should/could/will write a book. Great idea…why not? How hard can it be, right? WRONG!
Hmmm...I remember thinking all those things too. Although I did have one advantage a lot of other writers don’t have when they first start writing…my husband agreed that I should stop working fulltime and just concentrate on writing for a while. At 53 I figured better late than never, I dived in boots and all. Knowing how lucky I was to be in that position, I dived headlong into learning everything I could about writing fiction. Hundreds of hours later, after downloading and reading everything I could find on the internet (and hardly scratching the surface of the information available) I realized that writing a book was one of those things you needed to just start doing and learn as you go.
Anyway, I could go on forever about the highs and lows I experienced during the actual writing process. Needless to say, I got there…all the blood sweat and tears finally behind me as I blithely typed “The End”. WRONG AGAIN!

I loved the premise of this story!
The foundation is much the same - they’re different, so they’re treated poorly. But the twists were awesome!

The Australian setting made it more fun to me - I’m so used to all of them being set in the U.S. so it was a refreshing change.

This was 100% a page turner - a fantastic start to the series. And that ending… holy cliffhanger! I want more!

I received an ARC, and am leaving a voluntary review.

I literally couldn’t put this book down! The plot and story building is so good! Finding someone like you but realizing you’re both different and the secrets and lies. And trauma you have to face to try to remain safe! It’s an adventure for sure! Nothing happens as you expect it and it’s overall worth reading! -Kerin Ray
