HERO My Dad is a Superhero is a story about how one child's imagination can take the everyday responsibilities of a father and glorify them into superhero status as it means so much to the son. When Dad puts is son to bed at night, it is retold as he "flies" him onto the mattress. When Dad and son go swimming, Dad has aquatic type attributes as he is able to retrieve the sunken toys at the bottom. This story is wonderful to show the bonds formed between a father and son and blends a nice illustration of normalcy and superpowers in bright colors. The simplistic language coupled with the bright colors makes this book targeted for ages 2-6.
Everyday things that a dad does turn into the acts of a superhero when seen through the eyes of his adoring son - just the way things should be particularly as I read this book just a couple days before Father's Day.
There was great variety in the five bonus stories included as well. "Cowboy Billy and the Smelly Bank Robber" was my favorite but I liked the lesson the fox learned in "The Incredible Escape of the Sly Little Fox". The ending was a surprise in "Monsters at the Beach" as well as "The Farmyard Circus" which added to the enjoyment of both stories.
Was only expecting one story, Magic Blue Teddy was a delightful bonus
A parent's love is a wonderful thing, seen differently through the eyes of every child. "My Dad is a Superhero" captures the parent child bond in terms that remind adults why children look up to them, but also let children know every Super Power their parent has is powered by love for their family.
The magic blue teddy is about learning, and a gentle reminder it's okay to have different interests, and different ways of learning.
My Dad is a Superhero by Lily Lexington This colorful children's book is about a boy and how he plays with his dad. His dad can do things a superhero can: faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a lion, read minds, xray vision, sonic hearing etc are some of the things he has. Each page shows how the dad and son play using his special skills. Love the ending the most. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
I quite liked this cute little collection of stories (5 other/additional stories were included in this edition!) All the little stories for kids were very cute, & I'd think kids would enjoy these being read to them...or reading them on their own! This was a free kindle giveaway today, & was a pleasant surprise!
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.
I just read this book with my grandson who is four years old. His father was traveling and I thought this would be fun for him. He was totally delighted and immersed in the story. We had so much fun with this book and picturing his dad being a superhero! Well done in terms of writing, creativity and the pictures were great for a four-year-old.
This book wasn't a terrible book, but probably one of my least favorite books fora children's book. I don't think the writer did a very good job with words at all. I think there was a lot of words in the book that a young reader might not know what they mean which would make it hard to understand why the young boys Dad is a superhero. I think another problem with choice of words is the word superhero. Often times when young readers think of superheroes they typically are thinking of cartoon characters not their parents and this book kind of takes that away. I think if the wording was different the book could be a better choice for young readers. I would definitely use this to teach words, because it is a great example of how words can have different meanings and/or be misleading.

The story in MY DAD IS A SUPERHERO, is a creative tool helping a child express his or feelings about the super capabilities of dad. Reading Lexington’s story reinforces a child’s imagination using illustrations to show what the child sees. Each picture illustrates dad’s superhero powers. The simple graphics make it easy to tell the child’s story from his point of view while getting ready for bed. Lexington’s review of the child’s activities during the day leads to the best discovery about Dad. MY DAD IS A SUPERHERO stimulates a child’s imagination
One of the hardest books to review because the kids enjoyed it, but the work as a whole is very shoddy. The rhymes are very plain, the story is quite dull outside of the core idea, and the way the kindle book was formatted was truly a disaster. Those cons aside, it's a very cheap book at 99 cents, and provides a good option for parents who are in a bind for Bedtime reading.
This is great book for kids to read. Recommended for all ages. Must read. I bought this as part of unlimited read in Amazon. Pls read this book. Kids would love this book.

this is a good book to encourage my little one to talk about all the fun things he and his dad does. but we didn't even make it half way through and my 3 y.o. was distracted by the fact that the boy doesn't have a mom.
My 4 year old and 2 year old sons loved this book. highly recommended!!! My 2 year old was actually sitting still for the whole story quietly listening!!! That's hard to accomplish!!!
