Clara Nielsen writes sweet & swoony YA romances set in high school, all about shy girls and the boys who are head-over-heels for them. When she’s not busy writing, you’ll probably find her out on the lake, putting together the perfect playlist, or sipping on a chai latte while daydreaming about her next story.
The comedy was probably the only thing I really enjoyed in this book I felt as if there wasn’t a lot of romance or moments between them. Still I enjoyed reading this book but it’s not the type of book I’ll remember or the characters.
I received an arc of this book in return of an honest review.
5 stars!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: kissing Read on: kindle unlimited
LETS TAKE ONE MOMENT TO APPRECIATE THAT THE AUTHOR MADE THEIR ROOMS RIGHT ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER SO THAT THEY COULD COMMUNICATE BY HOLDING UP SIGNS. It was giving you belong with me music video and I'm so here for it!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
And!!!!!! The telephone!!!! Where theyre talking but they don't know it's each other!!!!! Loved that so much!!!!! (Ignoring the fact that if you did that in real life you would probably be talking to a creep but that's what fictions for!!!)
This one was really cute!!! Zach and ivy were super cute and they are perfect for each other!!
Also. I loooooved being able to read the group text again after it's absence in the last book. I completely forgot how much the boys and their girlfriends make me laugh!!
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was other than Jude there wasn't a lot of mention of the other boys which was kinda disappointing
BUT overall this series was a super cute clean read that I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a light heartwarming romance series!! I was a big fan and seeing all of the boys fall in love made me super happy 💗💗💗💗
This was such a heartwarming feel good romance that gave me taylor swift “you belong with me” music video vibes 😭 and was just so cuteeee 😩. This book was definitely a refreshing read after the last couple books ive read 😂
Overall, Ivy was so sweet and definitely a girl out of my own heart with all her clumsiness 😭 and i loved how charming Zack was. I really enjoyed the writing style and im superrrr intrigued about the other couples books so its safe to say ill be reading them in the future 🥹
Thank you so much @claranielsenbooks for this beautiful arc! 🥹🤍
I am extremely disappointed that this is the final book of such a captivating series. Despite the fact that it has been a long time since I was a teenager, these books have been a pleasure to read due to their nostalgic value, reminiscent of a time when one meets their first love. My favorite thing about these books is that the teenagers act like typical teenagers. The most they do as a couple are sweet kisses, which makes this book very wholesome. The band members portray a lot like One Direction. Although I am not familiar with One Direction's personal lives, these band members were kind and friendly. The girlfriends were friendly as well, making it refreshing to not read about pettiness between the group. I wholeheartedly recommend the entire series. I hope that one day the author will be able to bring these characters alive via audiobooks.
I was given in an advanced copy of this book for free and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.
As I was reading this, I kept getting old school "You Belong With Me Taylor Swift" vibes. If you have seen the music video, you know exactly what I am talking about. Ivy is the definition of the shy girl next door. and Not Zesty (Sorry, it's a cute name from Book 1) is the broody boy on the group. This is just a straight Love Story. Heartbroken Ivy texts her ex with a very pointed break up and, but low a behold she mixed up a number and now she is texting with a person is making the impossible happen, getting her to smile. This mystery person is funny and sarcastic in all the best ways. But there is also another person getting her to blush, her next door neighbor, the cute and broody Zack, from Take 5. He waves and even writes notes on a note pad and holds it up so they can communicate (hence Taylor Swift reference) little does Ivy know both Not Zesty and Zack would be the same person.
This was defiantly my favorite book of the entire series.

I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news back in October. It’s just shocking to hear about someone who has made such an impact on our generation’s lives being taken away from us far too soon. My heart goes out to his family, the rest of One Direction, and his friends.
How long did it take me to read this book? Not very long, but I wish I read it at a slower pace. I didn’t want this series to end! This series is so lighthearted and cute, especially for a YA romcom, which is what this book is.
I wish Zach existed while I was in high school. He was the more serious member of the band group. Think, “he doesn’t care about anyone else but her,” except he also cares about his bandmates. I couldn’t have asked for a better character to end the series with. I’m sad it’s over, but I can’t wait for what Clara has planned next!
I received this book as an eARC from Booksirens and this review is based on my own opinion.
Heartthrobs Don't Date Wallflowers is the fifth book in the 'Texting The Boyband' series but can be perfectly read as a standalone and after reading this I will surely put the others ones on my tbr.
Ivy was supposed to text her ex boyfriend but accidentally got one number wrong and texted a random boy. But little did she know that she ended op texting her hot boy band member neighbour.
This was such a cute young adult romcom and even as a 28 year old I loved reading it.
The Taylor Swifts 'you belong to me' videoclip vibes were so cute and I liked how that detail played a bigger part near the end of the book.
Would recommend if you like: celebrity boy, young adult romcom, girl next door.
Little 'trigger' warning; the author used the dedication for Liam Payne (& One Direction)
A lovely teenager romance story that is one of a series. This is the second book that I have read and both independently are enjoyable.
The story is loosely based around a boy teen band and the dedication to the recently defunct Liam Payne of One Direction at the start of the book is interesting because it shows the author does really know of the angst of becoming famous too soon.
The story follows the quiet member of the band and how he falls in love with a shy new girl who is at his school and is his neighbor.
The love story is clean and very sweet and the depictions of teen group messaging and being popular or a wallflower at school and the social repercussions of these labels is very well illustrated.

AHHHHH! i’ve been so excited for this book ever since i finished Finn and Nina’s story and it did NOT disappoint! one thing about Clara Nielson is she’s so funny and knows how to make you SWOON. Ivy was so funny, i loved her clumsy charming personality, along with her ability to laugh at herself. Zach,(my man), had me laughing so loud in my room- i looked crazy but it was worth it. Zach and ivy may be my favorite couple the series, i’m obsessed with the sweet private-but-not-a-secret vibe that they have. ALSO “i hate making the first move, but i’m making it now for you”?!? AHHHHHHAHAH I ALMOST DIED DEAD
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The last book in the series and I couldn’t put it down. Each “Texting the Boyband” book has left me wanting more.
Ivy thought she was texting her ex to tell him we are never getting back together. Instead she was off by one number and texted Not Zesty. Little does she know he is her hot neighbour who just so happens to be in a boy band.
I’m sad this series has ended but I can’t wait to read more by this author. I also cried at the dedication of this story since she is inspired by 1 Direction and mentioned Liam.

Heartthrobs Don't Date Wallflowers is Book 5 in the Texting the Boyband by Clara Nielsen. I have found this series to be enjoyable and I am sad that this is the ending of the series. Ivy is shy and coming off of a breakup with her boyfriend. When she sends a text to the wrong boy, Zach answers the text and the rest is history. I found the book to be very High School and fun. The romance is sweet and I really liked the Epilogue that gave an ending to each of the boyband with their girlfriend. This was an exciting escape into romance. I received an arc for free and m leaving my review voluntarily.
Clara Nielsen’s books always just make me feel happy and giddy. As a 31 yo I sometimes feel bad for loving books about 15-16yo… but they remind me of the good days. And the series “Texting the boyband” is just what the doctor ordered. Makes me feel like i’m 15 again and i’m okay with it. I was impatiently waiting for mysterious’ Zack’s book and I was not disappointed. Him and Ivy are quite a pair. I’m sad the series is over but happy I got to read it.
The boy band came to town!!! She looks out her window and sees a gorgeous young man. They start to flirt . . . . but she KNOWS she is not his type. When she goes to school she sees some of the band . . . but has no idea he is part of the band!!! And life gets very interesting and complicated . . . .this is a really good book that I really enjoyed!!! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This book was absolutely so cute! this book was so much fun to read. This YA rom com is a great, easy, and fun read to have marked off. I definitely felt the laughs and love with this one. Love all the characters in this book. I enjoy Clara Nielsens writing and the stories she creates.
After a long time, here comes a book which gave me so many feels ❤️♥️💕
Inspite of the book following the insta-love trope, it's so amazing 👏😍
You gotta read the book for this one scene where MMC tells him he loves her, in just a few words, in front of a huge audience, without even saying her name 🌟💯

A carefree, easy romance read more suited to a young adult audience. A few things were a little far-fetched like the person whose phone number she texted wrong, a famous boy band attending school and the whole "I love you" seemed a little premature. I would have expected the boy band to be home-schooled due to fame and commitments. It felt a little predictable who Not Zesty was and I wanted them to hurry up to figure it out. this book got me feeling wistful. young love, you know? it def gave me a y/n one direction fan-fiction vibe, which i found nothing wrong with, because it was very cute. however, i thought the romantic aspect of the book was a bit weak, hence the rating.
Out of the entire series, only Zach and Ivy's story rivaled Hudson's and Megan's for me. I loved both characters and the appearances of familiar favorites. Sweet, humorous, and fun. I reccomend this clean YA series.
This was a cute story. I liked the characters. Not much happened. They were quickly in love, and then it ended. *This book is rated G. There is no swearing, violence, or spice. There are a couple of very mild kisses.
They fell even quicker than the other books which felt weird they didn’t really know each other. What doesn’t make sense is how Ivy didn’t know it was him or vice versa. Still sweet and clean. A bit crazy but fun.
Kidding mostly... but seriously this whole series was a wild ride and I enjoyed every minute of it. From the interconnected Nielsen universe, to the overlapping storylines and swoon worthy characters, this series EXTREMELY QUICKLY became a favourite.
Zach's story was such an amazing one to end with, having wanted to see more of him the whole series, finally getting to see him shine was such a highlight. I say this every review, but thank you yet again Clara.
I loved this book. I looked forward to every interaction Zack and Ivy had and that it all started with texting the wrong number. I hadn’t seen that idea yet and it was a nice change from the same old stories and tropes. It was a little hard to follow who all the other characters were at times, but it didn’t detract from the main storyline which I found captivating. There was no drama or misunderstandings, just a great story that didn’t need all that extra to keep it alive and fresh.
