Great book for beginner's

This is well written and very easy to follow with simple instructions. You don't have to own a Nikon D750 to learn some basic knowledge of good photography. I would recommend reading the Nikon manual end to end before reading this book.

First impression after finishing initial read of the book is that there was an effort to take a dual approach: provide 1)helpful instruction/suggestions re: the use of the D750 and 2) on the other hand photographic techniques to improve one's overall photographic skills. Though I was glad I read it, I didn't find it to be a memorable effort. Being suspicious of my choice of the medium used (my smartphone), I intend to do a second read in the form of an overview and to use a larger screen...perhaps an iPad...to make a second visit to this book. The phone screen was certainly sharp enough, but to be fair I need to be reading and seeing the text and illustrations in a larger format. Update to follow in a few weeks.

Update 3/05/15:

Completed second read. This time I read it on my iPad, with some time spent on laptop. Better experience. Suspect this was at least partly due to less effort and far less squinting. Whatever the reason, my current rating now is closer to 4 stars than to 3.
