Short Sunzen! is quite an entertaining book. I took this out at the library on a whim because I really liked the cover. It was rather simple and I liked the art. I was slightly disappointed though when I flipped through the pages as it didn't meet my first expectations, but I took it out anyway.

The art is your typical late 90s styled manga. The men are extremely broad shouldered, which is a dead giveaway. I'm usually not a fan of the 90s art although I have had exceptions (such as Dolls by Kawahara Yumiko) and this is no exception. It seemed too generic for my tastes. Nothing special and nothing unique. I've seen it countless times.

As for the story, I found it extremely cliche. Tomboy girl falls in love with boy. Where have I heard that before? Too many times to count. Although Satsuki is a charming girl, her male counterpart, Sendo is far from anything attractive. The whole "indifferent" lead male is tiring. It seems like he has no personality whatsoever. What does Satsuki see in him?

All in all, it was a decent read but it was too bland and too much like other manga I have read. A good read to waste some time.

I read a review somewhere that someone didn't like the art or the story. I have to disagree withem. The characters have the normal manga eyes except the boy in this sometimes he eyes reminde me of cats eyes when he becomes surprised at something she is doing. This story is about Satsuki who seems to like to fight., She is so caught up in fighting people that she doesn't realize that one of her classmates likes her. I really enjoyed this volume.

Manganya agak membosankan meski tak bisa dipungkiri ada beberapa kelucuan dan humor didalamnya.

When I was in school, many, many years ago, I attended a science exhibition. In one display, a microscope was set up to look at the head of a pin. The Lord's prayer was engraved on the head of the pin as could be verified by looking through the microscope.

I suspect many manga publishers use the same font as was used for the Lord's prayer for parts of the text of their manga. This one uses it a lot! I need a magnifying glass to read this and it slows me down.

Is that the only thing I don't like about this manga? No! The story is lousy and the art is mediocre. There are two additional stories after the main story that are equally lousy. Worst of all, I have volume two yet to plow through!

I have a soft spot in my heart for the yankees in shojo manga, especially for the ones who try to be feminine every once in a while and fail miserably. There are absolutely no correlations between this book and my own teenage years, nope nope.

The first two volumes of Short Sunzen aren't going to blow your mind, and most people will set them aside. The story is decently entertaining: it revolves around a delinquant girl who is can beat most of her guy friends in feats of strength but is absolutely clueless when it comes to love. You won't feel like you've wasted a half hour, but it's not an earth-shattering read.

This was a cute story of girl:Satsuki meet boy:Aya and girl too blind to notice boy likes girl.

I wasn't into the current situations but the back history was really cute. Best of all, though, we get a lot of his confusing thoughts about her so its really fun! Satsuki is plain crazy!

The drawing style is like all late 90s stuff and works fine.

BOTTOM LINE: Fun in a typical way.

I liked the bonus story (about a tall girl falling for an even taller guy) better than the main story (about a delinquent boy falling for an even more delinquent girl). I mean, it's fine and all, but I wasn't hooked.
