John As a dom at club Pulse, I know rules are important to keep a submissive safe. As a professor at Faith Union College, I know rules keep order in my classroom.
I don’t sleep with submissives and I don’t get involved with students.
But all my rules go out the window when I see my new sub walk into my classroom. Everyone has secrets, including me, but mine are the only thing keeping me from truly claiming her as my own.
Emma Being around men is hard for me given my past, but when a friend recommends someone who can help with my aversion to touch, I don’t expect my new dom to be so good at it.
I especially don’t expect to fall for him so completely.
Even though he always wears a mask, I see who he is at his core. With so many obstacles standing in our way, can I convince him that I’m more important than all his broken rules?
All His Broken Rules is book 3 in the Broken Series and follows Emma and Professor A-hole in this forbidden professor/student romance. Professor/Student
Mya has always had a passion for storytelling and has a background in theatre, film, and education. She lives in the Midwest with her husband and children. Her books are contemporary romance and rom coms with more heat, more humor, and more heart. When she's not writing, she enjoys reading, singing karaoke, playing mermaids in the pool, and doing puzzles.
Anyone up for a professor/student romance? Maybe one where she doesn’t know it’s her professor? How about she gets a dom at a sex club because she is so awkward in real life situations? Age gap? Forbidden?
Then do I have a book recommendation for you!!
I was lucky enough to beta read this and now I have arc read it. It’s just as good the second time around as it was the first.
I’m a sucker for an age gap and the forbidden trope. So this one was right in my wheelhouse.
This book is pretty spicy. If the above makes you interested, then you should check out Mya More’s new book All His Broken Rules.
All His Broken Rules, is an age gap, slow burn, forbidden romance.
FMC Emma goes to club Pulse to start working through her aversion to touch. What she gets is MMC Dom John, or Daddy Dom, as Emma doesn't know his name, and he wears a mask. But in that room, for the first time, she is able to handle a male touch without trying to punch him. John has rules for all his subs, and he never breaks those rules, but Emma has him ready to break them for her. And of course, in a wonderful twist, John works as a professor at Faith Union college, where Emma attends, and happens to be in one of his classes. Talk about a tough situation for John! Emma has no idea, other than that her new professor A-hole seems to hate her. Will John be able to share all his secrets with Emma? Will she accept him?
I loved the age gap dynamic in this story, and the fact that John knew the entire time who Emma was, but she did not know who he was. And talk about a serious slow burn!! John cannot date Emma while she is his student, and also has other secrets he is not sure he can share, so he has to carry on as her professor, while also playing Daddy Dom, and somehow keep his head straight. I just loved the scene where Daddy Dom has Emma tease her professor. Unfortunately Emma does find her professor rather attractive, and starts to notice little things indicating he may be into her as well.
John is such a sweet character, when his secrets come out, you love him even more, for what he has done for others, as well as how long he has waited for Emma, hoping she will be ok with everything once she finds out. Of course, his biggest secret is revealed very unexpectedly to Emma, and she is just devastated. Without an explanation, Emma has to assume the worst. With a twist at the end, leaving Emma vulnerable again, John will do anything to be with her.
Emma is such a strong character, even with everything she has been through and is still actively dealing with, she perseveres, and slowly starts to overcome her nightmares, with Daddy Dom's help of course.
Get ready for a spicy, slow burn, exciting forbidden romance ride.
Some fav quotes: "But the most alluring part is the black skull mask that covers his entire face."
"I want to tell him that when his hands were on me, it felt like lightning coursing through my veins, traveling a path straight toward my core. I want him to know that his touch made me feel more alive than I've ever felt. I want him to command every inch of my body with every part of his until I'm sated."
"-she is a risk I cannot afford to make. She's someone who will make me break all my rules. The kind of woman that men start wars over, like Helen of Troy. And suddenly I want to abandon everything to protect her. Something about her triggers my hero complex, and I have an overwhelming desire to help her and protect her..."
"This girl is the yin to my yang, perfectly matched to crave the very thing only I can give her, and there's not a damn thing I can do to stop it. Our demise feels like a foregone conclusion, because this can only end badly."
"...she mutters the last part, and I get a little hard at her willingness to stand up to me, while also fighting the urge to toss her over my knee until she submits."
"There's no way I'm going to concentrate when she's dressed like that. My siren is calling to me, and she doesn't even know it."
""I'm going to embarrass myself with how quick you're going to make me come. You f***ing own me, pet.""
""You are mine, pet.""
Thank you so much to the author and Luna Literary for a copy of this book!
Once again, I am absolutely blown away by this hidden-gem series. I’ve been waiting for the third installment ever since finishing All Our Broken Vows because helloooo—masked man, sex club, age gap? Say no more.
But listen… this book was NOT what I expected. Like. At. All.
John Daddy Dom, white-knight energy, drowning in savior guilt from his past. Protector to his core. Falls hard and fast. Corruption kink. Needs control. And the mouth on this man? 🔥 Lord help me.
Emma Sweet on the surface, but battling deep inner demons from past trauma. She’s searching for control—over her body, her mind, and herself—and that journey is emotional, raw, and powerful.
Yes, the forbidden age gap / professor–student trope is here. Yes, it’s taboo. BUT that’s not even the half of it.
There’s a twist in this book that completely blindsided me—to the point where I immediately went back to a previous book to make sure I hadn’t missed something (I hadn’t). And WOW. Completely unexpected. 🤯
As a heavy dark-romance reader, there’s a moment where this story shifts—and once it does, I could not put it down. That was the moment I thought, Oh… this book is really going there. And I was fully seated for it.
I loved seeing all the characters from the series intertwine and watching the bigger picture start to come together. The connective threads are getting tighter, and I am HERE for it.
And now… I cannot WAIT for the absolute hot mess express that will be Alyx and Ella. Because brothers-best-friend? I’m already feral.
This series just keeps leveling up, and All His Broken Rules proved that nothing is off-limits.
Emma is a college student at Faith Union College that is looking to explore exposure therapy at a BDSM club called “Pulse” due to past trauma. John is a Dom at the club and is introduced to Emma to help her explore. However, he just so happens to be a professor at the same college as her. Emma doesn’t know who her Dom is due to him wearing a mask. Will she ever find out who it is? Will they be together? Will this help heal her trauma?
Things that I like: I did like the side characters and how they were incorporated throughout the story and had their own spotlight in some moments. I did like how John is a very empathic character and is willing to do things for others.
Things that I did not like: There are a lot of things that didn’t stick with me about this novel. Emma throughout the novel REFUSES to curse and says things like, “I-oh, sugar!”, and, “Oh, sweet cheese and rice,”. Also, she calls John throughout the novel as, “Daddy Dom”. At first, I thought it was cute? But then it got to be extremely cringey throughout the novel. Her trauma wasn’t fully explained enough where it could be as traumatic as it was? Towards the end it felt like it was a series of events that felt like the author only put it in there to make it exciting but fell short. I didn’t understand how Emma could be saying that she didn’t trust John and then not even 5 minutes later have sex with him.
Thank you to Mya More and Luna Literary for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion.
Before diving into giving you all the juicy details of 'All His Broken Rules' please head the warning of making sure you read the TW before starting.
This book is very heavy in the D/s relationship between Emma and Daddy Dom. John has three different personalities he is showing Emma.. all of them wrapped into one complex person, John. Underneath all the layers of Daddy Dom is a caring, white knight, protective man who just wants to take care of his sub, Emma.
Emma is working through trauma. Please bare in mind everyone deals with trauma differently. So, what may look not normal to you is very normal/okay for Emma. Emma also goes to therapy as well as the smex club. Trying to unlock memories from her childhood that have been repressed for so long.
Mya More does a great job of not only showing Emma's trauma beautifully on page but how Daddy Dom, her friend Alyx and other people who surround her protect her and make others aware of the no touching clause.
If you enjoy darker romance with a pinch of D/s this is that. All of that and more.
Thank you to Luna Lit Management and the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love a taboo romance and this one hooked me from the start. It tackles trauma, coping, and boundaries in a way that felt messy but real, not romanticized, just deeply human. Emma’s journey is painful at times, but watching her slowly rebuild herself through control, touch, and trust made me connect to her more than I expected.
As the reader, I knew that her Professor and her Daddy Dom were the same person, but the anticipation of Emma figuring it out, how it would come out, and what the repercussions would be kept me completely hooked. On top of that, several twists were layered into the story that I genuinely did not see coming, and they shifted the direction in ways that surprised me without feeling forced.
The spice was great and placed exactly where it needed to be. Nothing felt excessive or random. Every scene served a purpose and reflected Emma’s emotional state at that point in her journey. What begins as something rooted in touch slowly turns into empowerment. Watching John support her, remind her of her strength, and help her rebuild confidence was one of my favorite parts of the book.
I also appreciated that the story takes place over a longer period of time. Emma’s growth felt earned and realistic instead of rushed.
Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC of this book and for introducing me to this amazing author! This was my first read by Mya More, and it definitely will not be my last. I am fully invested in this world now and really hoping we get Ella and Alyx next.
✨ ARC Review ✨ All His Broken Rules completely took me by surprise in the best way possible. I went in expecting a spicy, tension-filled read… and walked away with a story that had so many more layers than I was prepared for. I’m honestly thrilled I got to experience this one as an ARC reader.
John and Emma first connect through a dom/sub dynamic, with the intention of helping Emma navigate and heal from past trauma. That alone is handled with care, depth, and emotional nuance, but the story doesn’t stop there. Throw in a professor/student connection (yes, that twist 👀), and suddenly the stakes are higher, the tension sharper, and the emotional payoff even stronger. This book is packed with surprises and unexpected turns. The sexual tension is delicious, the spice hits just right, and beneath it all is a story about trust, healing, and confronting broken pieces you didn’t realize still had power over you.
A few things kinda mildly irritated me while reading this but the more I read the more I realised I wasn't going to end up reading this one.
Firstly - On page 1, Emma has Lizzie, Evie, and Erin as her 3 sisters and Ethan has her brother. On page 2, Ethan is a stepbrother and she has a sister called Ella. Far too many Es and I don't really like it when authors name their entire cast of characters with similar names or names that all begin with the same letter. 2/3 is my limit. Also just realised apart from Lizzie and Ethan all characters have 4 letter names that's 6/8 characters.
Secondly - The FMC is annoying. Look I understand that she doesn't like being touched (assuming there's trauma there) but she's so whiny and overthinks too much. If I wanted overthinking I'd put the book down and listen to my own thoughts (hence why I read everyday).
But the major thing with this? John escorts her out of the room and barely touches her back. He's just fucked her and made her come, etc. But she flinches, he asks what's up and she basically brushes it off. The next second she's on the floor, curled into a ball and screaming her safe word? He can make you come but touching your back ever so slightly is a big no no? How does she go out in public? I just thought it's a bit overdramatic with the way it was written.
Thirdly - The MMC. You're telling me this man is an experienced dom who keeps his mask on to remain anonymous with his subs. But this one girl on a cross just makes him break his rule not fucking subs? Also fucking her with his fingers doesn't count but fucking her with his tongue counts as "breaking his rules"? I'm confused here.
Fourth - Alyx randomly calling John Zade from Haunting Adeline?
“Chill, Zade, you don’t have to get all Daddy Dom on me.”
This here was my final thing. I don't necessarily like it when characters reference other books (I don't mind it) but that wasn't what did it. It's the way John is reassuring Alyx that he didn't fuck Emma because of her state the Alyx says that? I mean Zade isn't a daddy dom at all. And if he's so worried about Emma he wouldn't have acted like that surely?
Another amazing addition to The Broken series! I’ve loved every one of these books, but this one may be my favorite so far🥰
All His Broken Rules is a hidden identity, grumpy x sunshine, age gap, professor x student, forbidden romance between Emma and John.
I loved how Emma was able to find healing with John, even before they’re together. She’s been through a lot, and I loved how that didn’t stop her determination or dim the spark inside of her that makes her who she is. I loved watching her learn to trust and love with John, and how curious and eager to learn she was as she discovers this new part to herself.
John is yet another favorite MMC of mine from @author.mya.more ! I loved how understanding and patient he is with her, wanting to help her become her best self, while also struggling with the need to claim her as his. He wants the best for her, but also wants to do everything in his power to protect her. Everyone will absolutely fall in love with him, the way Emma does.
Thank you so much to @author.mya.more for having me on your street team and for my advanced copy! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
I rarely leave reviews like this, but I believe readers deserve transparency, especially when a book feels fundamentally uncomfortable from the very beginning.
This story centres on Emma, a 19 year old FMC who is portrayed as extremely naive, sheltered and emotionally immature. She is a virgin, has an aversion to being touched by men and reacts to even mild physical contact with fear or violence. Later in the book, it is strongly implied that she was SA’d by her father at the age of five and suffers recurring nightmares related to that trauma.
Despite this, the narrative very quickly pushes Emma into sexual situations that, as a reader, felt deeply inappropriate given how she is written. In Chapter One, the solution proposed by her older brothers best friend is for her to attend a s*x club and have a BDSM experience with a masked, significantly older man. This framing alone felt jarring, but it becomes increasingly troubling as the story progresses.
Emma’s dialogue and behaviour consistently read far younger than her stated age. I have children myself and I felt like the behaviour and language used was so close to that of my 11 year old! She does not swear under any circumstances, instead using phrases such as “biscuits”, “fudge”, “frick” and the weirdest of all “cheese and rice”…even during intimate scenes. While the book later attempts to explain this through a family dynamic involving her younger sister, the effect on the page is that Emma reads less like a young adult and more like a child. As a reader, this made the sexual content extremely uncomfortable.
I am therefore choosing not to assign a spice rating to this book. The explicit scenes themselves are not the issue, the issue is the context in which they occur and the way the FMC is portrayed. Rating those scenes as “spice” did not feel appropriate to me.
Further complicating matters are multiple narrative choices that intensified my discomfort: – the older male love interest is revealed to be Emma’s college professor – he is also married (with a rushed explanation that the marriage exists solely to help his wife obtain a green card) – Emma also babysits for his sister in law (unbeknownst to either party) – multiple adult characters, including a therapist, appear to validate or encourage these dynamics without meaningful concern
None of these elements are meaningfully interrogated within the story. At no point does anyone question whether this situation is safe, appropriate or ethical. That absence of internal challenge is what ultimately made this book feel wrong to me.
There are also noticeable continuity issues and contradictions throughout the text, which further pulled me out of the story.
Dark romance can and should push boundaries, but for me, this crossed a line in a way that felt unintentional and unexamined. This was not “good red flag” fiction, nor was it transgressive in a way that felt purposeful. It simply felt deeply uncomfortable.
This review reflects my personal reading experience. Other readers may feel differently, but I believe it is important that potential readers are aware of how this book comes across before deciding whether to pick it up.

** Audio Review ** Yes, pet! All His Broken Rules by Mya More was a spicy and forbidden age gap romance with the perfect touch of danger and suspense. I couldn’t get enough of Emma and John’s enemies-to-lovers tension mixed with insta lust thanks to their dynamic dom/ sub connection. This one was full of so many unexpected twists and heartfelt moments that had me longing for these two to find their HEA.
C.J. Bloom and Jason Clarke perform this audiobook in duet-style narration, and this pairing embodied Emma and John to the fullest. C.J.’s vibrant, upbeat voice gave so much life to Emma’s curious and passionate persona that had me cheering for this woman to overcome all of her past trauma and insecurities. Jason’s signature deep, rumbly tone embodied John’s possessive and protective demeanor, making him the perfect dom and professor. Plus, the added modulator when voicing “Daddy Dom” made this even more FUN. Samantha Brentmoor and Logan Prince add their voices to round out this full cast!
Overall, I loved this book. If you are a fan of an age gap romance with an adventurous student, a professor moonlighting as a masked dom, sex club meet cute, riding crop fun, college life, new grumpy professors, swoony Shakespeare, frat parties gone wrong, an aversion to touch, healing from the past, hidden identities, revealing truths, intimate conversations, all the spice, dangerous encounters, love declarations, and a HEA to break the rules for, then you will love Emma and John’s story. I look forward to more from Mya More.
All His Broken Rules stood out to me with its dark atmosphere and psychological layers. Overall, I enjoyed it. Especially the dirty talk was really well done; it was well-balanced, suited the character dynamic, and significantly enhanced the impact of the scenes.
The most striking aspect of the story is the FMC’s situation. Imagine a woman who is completely virginal, and who shows a violent reflex when touched by men. This detail isn’t used merely for shock value; it’s handled together with the character’s past and her mental defense mechanisms. That’s why it felt both deeply striking and unsettling, yet equally intriguing to me.
The BDSM dynamic here isn’t just physical; it unfolds through control, boundaries, and trust. The tension between the characters, the power balance, and the walls that slowly come down make the story highly engaging. For lovers of dark romance, it’s at times disturbing but just as addictive a read.
In short, if you enjoy dark romance + BDSM and are drawn to psychologically strong stories that play with boundaries, All His Broken Rules is definitely worth checking out.
I absolutely loved this book! Mya brought the spice in this one!!
💙Age gap 💙Professor x student 💙Dom x sub dynamics 💙Hidden identities 💙Enemies to lovers
Emma has been through some trauma in her life, and her pseudo brother introduces her to John. A dom at a sexy club who is going to try and help her with her qualms with touching. These two form a great dynamic, until John sees Emma as one of his students on the first day of class.
John, my man, he TRIES his hardest to stay away, but he is already in deeper than he expects with her! I loved how he fell HARD for her.
Emma was such a great character and I loved seeing her break through her insecurities and past traumas and really let herself feel with John.
I’m hoping this isn’t the last time we will see them!
John and Emma were perfect in this Dom/Sub story. The taboo was exciting and I loved that Emma went to this club to get past her trauma. Little did she know that her Dom was none other than her professor. What are the chances? But this was so intimate and seductive. I enjoyed this so much. It was intense as weak as gentle. The connection was fire. Such a well written book.
Keeping my review short and sweet(cheese and rice 😜) If you like an age gap with a forbidden love interest..this is for you. A good girl with a daring fantasties meets a sexy dom. Spicy, intriguing and what a way to connect Mya's other stories! This could still be done as a stand alone though.
There was so much I didn’t love about this book, and very little that I did. The juvenile talk was supposed to serve a purpose but it was talked about way too late in the story to make an impact. There is nothing cute or sexy about saying “cheese and rice” during sex. And when she said she trusts him directly after uncovering a huge betrayal was just not believable at all.

*Please note, I was provided with an ARC version of this book by Luna Literary Management and am voluntarily leaving an honest review*
At first glance, the tropes for this book fall squarely within subgenres of romance novel I'm interested in exploring more of, plus a little bit extra. But while the story did give me the flutters and the feels and it's by no means a bad book, I can't really find anything within that makes me want to rave about it.
I would firstly acknowledge that this is book 3 in a series, and I have not read the author's previous works. But it does state that it can be read as a standalone. From a broad persepctive, this is certainly true; I didn't suddenly find myself feeling like I'd stepped into the middle of a conversation with no context atbany point during the read. But, there are clearly underlying threads that hark back to the previous books, and in several cases it reads like you are expected to know who these characters are and what their story is. So in this case I probably would recommend reading the other books first.
The best thing by far about the book is our Daddy Dom and his alter ego. The two sides of him complement perfectly, and it is very enjoyable to watch his control slip more and more. With every self-imposed rule he breaks, his yearning becomes more and more delicious, and even in the midst of scenes he somehow feels softer (though not where it matters 😉). Watching him take the opportunity to torture himself by pitching one persona against the other in our FMC's eyes is a stroke of genius, and the fraying of his restraint is one of the few things that really comes alive off of the page. Plus, tattoos and a mask - what's not to love?!
While I could follow Emma's journey and immediately get on board with the premise (the book doesn't give you a chance not to get on board, TBH), it took far longer for me to connect with her, which in turn detracted from the initial set up, character and relationship development. Explanations are given within the story for certain elements of her personality - her insistence on using child-friendly versions of swear words, for example - but it's often down to one-liners or links to background information or characters that you don't actually meet. As a result, it leaves her coming across as quite immature and precisely the sort of teacher's pet loner that the other students see her as. In turn, it may not have 'given me the ick', but it does give the relationship dynamic an uncomfortable edge that I don't think was intended.
The plot itself works well, but the pacing is so fast it almost gave me whiplash. There's just not enough time given to properly develop the Dom/sub relationship and to let the unsaid feelings start to simmer. I could have done with the story taking place over the course of one year, rather than two and a bit, and for more focus to be given to Daddy Dom trying to reconcile his two roles in Emma's life. I feel like the events of year two could have merged well and run alongside, and would have given far more opportunity for that to occur, meaning that nothing would have been left out (although there are perhaps a couple of superfluous subplots and strands which could have been left by the wayside with little bother), but certain scenes and character development could have been given more depth and time; as mentioned, you're thrown in head first in chapter one, and don't really get a moment to breathe and experience the glorious sexual tension that could have set this book alight.
On a similar note, there were important plot points and secondary characters that seemed to appear with no explanation whatsoever. Now, these could be set up in yhe previous books as I acknowledge above, but where they directly linked to our main characters, I'm left suspecting not. If this is the case, there are elements which definitely need more context. I know part of the reason for not including more early on is because it plays a role in events later, but nonetheless the random and rushed feel these moments leave the book feeling a little unpolished.
I'd be remiss if I didn't discuss the spice. Again, in broad terms I enjoyed Emma's exploration and her using Pulse as therapy of a sort. It absolutely made sense to me (although, again, I would have preferred seeing results over time), and it's not a way I've seen the Dom/sub experience explored before. But, most of the scenes felt like they weren't sure what they wanted to be. The author clearly wants to explore the dynamic and the sexual chemistry it generates, and does so very well, but when it comes to the 'bang for your buck' suddenly everything pulls back to the barest of details and several 'quick finishes'. As such, I was left feeling a bit thrown by the whole thing - it's a four chilli rating for kink, but done at a two chilli heat.
Overall, it was a quick and easy read that filled a bit of time in my day. I may have been expecting something a bit different to what I got, but it's not a book I regret reading or one that I had to struggle through... it just wasn't quite for me.
All His Broken Rules by Mya More, the third installment in The Broken Series, is an incredibly layered romance that grabbed me from the very first page. Featuring a stellar multi-cast narration by Jason Clarke, CJ Bloom, Samantha Brentmoor, and Logan Prince, this age-gap, forbidden romance manages to be both scorching hot and deeply moving, balancing intense BDSM themes with a raw, realistic journey of healing.
The story introduces us to John, a theater professor at Faith Union College who also leads a secret double life as a "Daddy Dom" at the exclusive club Pulse. John is a man of rigid principles: he maintains order in his classroom and safety at the club by strictly separating his identities and refusing to involve himself with students or submissives. However, his discipline crumbles when Emma, one of his own students, arrives at the club seeking help for her severe aversion to touch. Emma is a character of pure sunshine and resilience who is struggling to move past deep-seated childhood trauma. When she begins working with her masked "Daddy Dom," she finds herself finally able to accept touch, unaware that the man helping her heal is the same professor she encounters in the classroom.
The tension of this setup is masterful. As a reader, knowing the identity secret while waiting for Emma to uncover it kept me absolutely hooked. The slow burn is agonizing in the best way, with John falling deeper into a protective, obsessive love while desperately trying to keep his worlds from colliding. Watching their relationship evolve from a controlled power dynamic into a soul-deep connection is profoundly satisfying. Emma’s growth is earned and realistic; rather than being rushed, her journey of rebuilding trust, boundaries, and confidence unfolds over a significant period, making her eventual empowerment feel incredibly earned.
The book excels at tackling heavy themes—trauma, vulnerability, and control—without ever feeling performative or romanticized. It feels deeply human, especially as John and Emma navigate the complications of their forbidden connection. When the truth finally comes out, the emotional fallout is devastating, yet the story is punctuated by unexpected twists that shift the narrative in ways I never saw coming. The spice is expertly placed, serving the emotional arc of the characters rather than existing solely for shock value.
All His Broken Rules is a perfect blend of taboo tension and tender, emotional payoff. With its fantastic found-family dynamic, excellent narration, and a beautiful Happily Ever After that feels truly hard-won, this book is an essential read for anyone who loves an intense romance that packs a genuine emotional punch.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this third book in the series. I listened to this as an ALC. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. I could not put this down, it’s so good. Jason Clarke’s narration is just first class and he even sounds hot with the mask and voice modulator. Emma has been affected by nightmares of a faceless man and cannot let any man touch her without lashing out. Frustrated she seeks the help of her stepbrother’s best friend Alex. It was until later that I realised who her stepbrother was. IYKYK Alex asks his friend who works with him at the adult only club to see if he can help her with her problem. Emma meets Daddy Dom and he immediately takes over control, wearing a mask and voice modulator he slowly talks to her and carefully touches her. She feels safe with his touch for some reason. One action when he’s walking her back to Alex sets off a reaction in Emma leaving him worried and wants to know why. Coming face to face with her new Professor she dislikes his attitude towards her and is furious when he gives her a C grade. She gives him a nickname Professor A*hole, what she doesn’t realise is that he’s the alter ego of Daddy Dom. Although for some reason she can’t understand she doesn’t shy away from his touch. Her nightmares are getting more frequent and her family are concerned, her stepfather has been a good father as Emma can’t remember her biological father as her parents split when she was a baby. At a party she meets a boy from her past who was part of a group that made up cruel taunts about her. When he makes a pass she runs, saved by the Professor, who is keeping an eye on her. More characters from the first two books appear all intertwining seamlessly into the story. Daddy Dom helps her reenact her nightmare helping her remember the truth. Talking with her mother she finds out why her story differs from her mother’s. Meanwhile Daddy Dom has told her he can’t continue with their relationship. Leaving her heartbroken, when she finds out he’s married and related to the friends she babysits for, she ghosts him. On the last performance of the play, Jeremy shows his true colours after giving her a doctored drink and ties her up and tells that the boy from the past is paying him. Eventually Professor John finds her and saves her. Explaining why he’s married and why he does it. There is a scene where he talks about his brother is heartbreaking and narrator Jason Clarke is stunning, the emotion he brings is tear jerking. Working together to put the past behind them , all characters apart from her sister and Alex, will they get a story?
ARC honest review. Read my other reviews here Overall Rating: 4.5/5.
“I love every version of you”
Synopsis:
Emma, a traumatized college student with an aversion to touch, is introduced by a friend to a Dom at club Pulse. John, a Shakespearian college professor and secret nighttime Dom, has secrets keeping him from engaging in a long-term relationship with anyone. John must help his student without getting too attached, and he definitely can’t let her know it’s him under the mask.
Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book and I’m super grateful I received it as an ARC. I’m so happy when I can start reading a book and immediately know I will fall in love with it. I really loved both the main characters, and was consistently rooting for both of them. Even though poor choices were made time to time, it felt real to life rather than forcing the plot like some books do. Let me tell you… I fucking loved Dom. Hands-down a great BDSM representation, and during any shortcomings it is mentioned so readers know what is right and not right. I’m so thrilled with how the author handled that as someone in the community. I also loved the author’s deliberate references and plot regarding queer people like myself, it felt really special. The addition of a disabled character, though not super on-page, I also felt was really sweet! I will definitely be coming back to read more from this author. From the amazing spice scenes, the great minority rep and political intrigue, to the fleshed out characters and world around them, I was hooked every page. I found it really nice that the author included a list of spice scene chapters, playlist songs, and a TBR spicy authors list before their first chapter.

All His Broken Rules follows Emma, a college student working through deep rooted trauma that has left her unable to tolerate physical touch, making intimacy impossible. Determined to heal, she turns to a trusted friend who introduces her to a Dom who offers to help her work through her boundaries and fears, with one strict rule that everything must stay within the walls of the private club where they meet. At the same time, Emma is navigating college life and dealing with a difficult and demanding professor who challenges her at every turn. As the connection with her Dom deepens and he becomes the only man she can tolerate affectionate touch from, Emma finds herself conflicted when an unexpected attraction begins to grow toward her professor as well. With emotions intensifying, boundaries blurring, and an unknown stalker lurking in the background, Emma is forced to confront her fears, her desires, and what healing truly looks like for her.
My oh Mya. She absolutely delivers. Her ability to drive a compelling story while also writing some of the hottest spicy scenes is unmatched. This book dives into multiple BDSM themes from both the Dom and sub perspectives, all while keeping consent and emotional safety at the forefront. The longing Emma experiences while Daddy Dom pushes her away to maintain his own rules was heartbreaking to read. The story was written so well that the rules he had in place to protect his secret kept me guessing the entire time, and I truly did not see it coming. That tension alone kept me hooked and unable to put the book down.
Overall, this book delivered far more layers than I was expecting, blending emotional depth with spice in a way that felt intentional and thoughtful. Because the story takes place over a couple of years, Emma’s healing journey felt realistic and never rushed.
Recommended for fans of BDSM elements, morally complicated attraction, and emotionally driven storytelling.
Thank you to Mya More for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am telling you….This book….Grabbed me from page one and there was just something about it, yes it's hot as fire BUT there is just a raw and real feeling throughout it all! All His Broken Rules by Mya More is book 3 in The Broken Series. It wasn't enough that it had the best age gap, but throw in a gorgeous masked man, tons of BDSM, forbidden, innocent but also some beautiful healing and soul deep love. It was just a perfect combination!
John and Emma. These two just grabbed my heart from the first page. John is the theater professor by day at the christian college and the “Daddy Dom” at night at the s$x club. He is grumpy, gorgeous, classic alpha-hole who abides by the rules, and doesn't get involved with any of his subs or his students. Emma is just sunshine, love, goodness and cares about others deeply. This poor girl has faced trauma when she was young that still affects her today. Most of all, the complete aversion to touch. She goes to meet him for his help with this. But so much more comes from this. AND she has no idea the masked man is actually her professor! I loved the slow burn, loved that he knew but she didn't. Loved how everyday he fell for her more and became so protective and obsessed over her. And I loved how she started questioning the fact she had fallen for two men when they were the same. The heat and spice to me was perfect, especially from the slow burn it gave us. Loved watching these two fall in love, loved watching the raw vulnerability turn into a beautiful healing and soul deep love.
I loved seeing all the characters from the series throughout. This found family is so good!
I cannot WAIT for the absolute hot mess that will be Alyx and Ella. These two KILLED ME throughout the whole book and that chemistry, holy wow! AND brothers-best-friend? Here for it!
Go read this book and series, it’s so good!

This is a first time read from this author, and I enjoyed the couples journey.
Please read the trigger warnings as your mental health matters!
This follows MMC John, a professor at a christian college and FMC Emma, a student in the same college.
Emma has some major trauma that has left her with the crippling response to a male getting too close or touching her. She literally punches/hits the males that attempt to touch her. She finally chooses to go to her friend Alex's sex club to try to cure her problem with the help of a dom at club Pulse. Her male friend Alex is the only male that is able to touch her freely because they grew up together and are like siblings. Alex becomes their contact and go between. She is originally only suppose to meet with the dom (John) once......
John (her masked dom who works with subs and couples teaching them how to top, and does not sleep with them)is hiding a lot about who he really is and what he does for a living until lo and behold but who shows up as Emma's professor??? However,John knows who Emma is, but Emma does not realize her masked dom is John her professor He keeps his mask on every time they meet at the club for numerous reasons. John has been through a lot with the loss of his brother and the fraying relationships of his family afterwards. He also is keeping an even bigger secret from Emma than being her masked dom. What he is keeping from her I truly did not see coming. Will she be able to forgive chum so that they can get their HEA?? You have to read to find out!
I also really love how the author gave huge shoutouts to other hockey, dark, and BDSM romance authors!
This also has a suspense plot to it with letters Emma has been anonymously getting on her dorm door. I guessed the wrong person... Will you be able to figure it out before the reveal??
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this arc @author.mya.moore
Well hello to two of my favorite tropes! When Professors and Daddy Doms collide, you get this book! This is not the first book in this series, and I am dying to go back and catch up, but we will focus on Emma and John in this Post
Emma has an aversion to touch due to past trauma that she just cannot quite fully overcome. Due to this she cannot really be comfortable in the dating world and that's becoming an increasingly bigger problem the older she gets. If only there was a way to acclimate her body to it, to rewire her brain into understanding that not all men are bad. Her friend has a suggestion, and a guy that just might be up to the task, but it's far from what her therapist would recommend.
John lives a double life, and he is successful at it, but only due to the strict set of rules that he has given himself. He educates minds by day at the college... But at night, he gets to educate in ways of passion, control, and dominance. But he never takes it past his strict boundaries. He never crosses that line. But this new sub has him wanting to break every rule.... Even after she walks into his classroom the next day. Can he keep his two lives separate? Does he want to?
This was a quick spicy read that has some BDSM aspects but isn't super hardcore if you're not looking for that. I enjoyed the Back and forth between the Professor and Daddy Dom aspect because you got to see both sides of John and how Emma interacted with him in both settings. The side mystery aspect was fun(not going to ruin it, so that's all I'm saying about it), and the development of Emma's base story about her Trauma is pretty strong. John's mystery just adds to his character. Together they are simply explosive.
Full of a great cast of side characters, and lots of banter throughout them, I look forward to catching up, and reading future books.
Thank you very much to Mya and Luna Literary Management for letting me ARC a fantastic read
This is the third book in Mya More’s series that I’ve read, and each one just keeps getting better! I went into All His Broken Rules already knowing I’d enjoy it, but I didn’t expect all the emotions and twists in it.
Emma’s story is heavy, but it never feels overdone or dramatized just for effect. Her fear of touch, the way her body reacts before she can even process what’s happening, and her determination to take back control was really well-written. I really liked that her healing isn’t quick or tidy. Every step forward feels heavy, and seeing her slowly figure out what she wants and what she can handle was incredible.
John is all about rules, control, and structure, until Emma shows up and starts poking holes in all of it. Watching him try and fail to keep everything contained was frustrating. I loved how intentional he is as a Dom, always checking in and always prioritizing consent and safety. The BDSM dynamic never felt like it was there just for spice- it actually meant something to the story. And the professor/student angle is constantly in the background with tension that never really lets up. The hidden identity just made that tension worse in the best way, and I spent a lot of the book waiting for the fallout.
One thing I really liked was how much time the story takes. Nothing feels rushed. Relationships build slowly, trust develops over time, and healing happens in a way that feels realistic. By the end, this felt like more than just a forbidden romance. It was about growth, trust, and choosing what actually matters. Since Chef Pickle, I've been fully invested in this series and I'm already looking forward to what comes next!
All His Broken Rules by Mya More completely blindsided me in the best possible way 🖤🔥
I love a taboo romance, but this story goes deeper than shock value. It explores trauma, boundaries, healing, and control in a way that feels messy, uncomfortable at times, and incredibly human. Nothing is glossed over or romanticized. Emma’s journey hurt to read in moments 😢, but watching her slowly reclaim her body, her confidence, and her voice made this story hit so much harder than I expected 💥💞.
As the reader, I knew early on that Emma’s professor and her Daddy Dom were the same person, but that only made the tension worse 😳💀 Waiting for Emma to discover the truth, bracing for how it would come out, and knowing the fallout was inevitable had me completely hooked. Add in twists I genuinely did not see coming 😱, and I found myself constantly holding my breath, afraid to turn the page and unable not to.
The spice was chef’s kiss 🥵🔥intense, intentional, and emotionally driven. Every scene served a purpose and reflected where Emma was mentally and emotionally at that point in her healing 💫. What starts as something rooted in touch and control slowly becomes empowerment, and watching John support her, challenge her, and remind her of her strength was one of my favorite aspects of the entire book 💙✨.
I also loved that this story takes place over time ⏳. Emma’s growth felt earned, realistic, and deeply satisfying. Healing isn’t linear, and this book understands that 💖.
This was my first time reading anything by Mya More, and it absolutely will not be my last 🤩📚 I am fully invested in this world now and desperately hoping we get Ella and Alyx next 👀💙
This book was so addicting! I devoured it and couldn’t put it down! It’s no secret that I love age gaps and forbidden romances, so I was definitely drawn to this story. I knew there would be the BDSM dynamic which I haven’t read before, but was excited for something new. This book starts out with the spice right away in chapter 1 and I was definitely kicking my feet!
What I wasn’t expecting was the emotional impact the story would have. Emma had some trauma she was dealing with and I loved the trust that her and John built. He was so patient and loving with her and helped her heal on her own terms and timeline. Their love story was so beautiful and I really felt their deep connection and love for each other. The twist at the end kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t stop flipping the pages! I can’t wait to read more from this author!!
Highlights - Where do I even begin with this book?! The emotional tension is palpable. The heat is radiating. The twists are messy. At no point in time did I see the ending coming but it hit with a gut punch. Watching the rules get bent, tested and eventually shattered feels earned, not rushed. Every intimate moment carries emotional weight, and every setback hurts just enough to make you root harder. Let Downs - While this book is damn near perfect, it does have a couple let downs. I was hesitant at the beginning because of how young Emma is but after realizing the relationship dynamic, it couldn’t be any other way. The scene where Emma is instructed by Daddy Dom to flash her professor would be considered sexual harassment and I don’t believe a Dom would nor should put her in that position. I also understand the use of the ‘clearly not cussing’ cussing to reiterate Emma’s innocence but I think it was overkill. She’ll let this complete stranger defile her in some of the most delicious ways, but yet, she can’t say the word “fuck”? We got the same theme of innocence throughout with the storyline of her virginity so to have both was unnecessary. Concluding Thoughts - Overall, I was swept away by how good this book was. I loved the emotion, the chemistry, the spice, everything. The whole time I was reading, I couldn’t stop thinking about the meme I will share on the last slide. This book is the perfect depiction of what that meme means. And I reveled in every evocative scene.
