Tara may be a princess by birth, but her life is far from a fairy tale. Raised in royalty under the weight of a distant father and a controlling mother, she longs for warmth of love and personal bonds. Determined to break free from a gilded cage and a loveless marriage, she escapes to Mumbai, to begin anew. There, she finds Kabir, photographer who sees beyond her defenses and awakens her to healing, joy, and the possibility of love. But just as she starts to believe in second chances, charming and mysterious Vivan Mehta, Bollywood's heartthrob brings storm of passion and temptation she never expected.
When the shadows of her past starts hounding her, she faces a dilemma to make choices regards to love or desire, duty or freedom, survival or surrender.
This story was hopeful, and engaging. Reading Tara's journey towards being herself after being so stuck at one place was good to read. The themes of tug between past and present, burdens of others expectations, overbearing relationships and finally deciding to be fierce, resilience, and self discovery are written nicely. Tara's character and story has layers. She is portrayed as someone who doesn't want to bow down to destiny and at the same time the author highlighted her flaws as well. Though many a times it felt like a movie script and at some places execution could have been better, I enjoyed my time with the book.

Recently, I've been drawn to books that center on women, and I just finished one that truly captured my heart. " Tara: The Dream Chaser" by Nelofar Currimbhoy isn't just a story; it's a beautiful journey into the soul of a woman who dares to dream beyond the life she was born into.
From the first page, I was completely swept away by Tara's courage to break free from an oppressive past and chase a life where love and personal freedom truly matter. I found myself so invested in her story that I'd sometimes get genuinely angry at her controlling mother and abusive husband. Watching Tara navigate the complexities of her past and present, especially with the unwavering support of Kabir and the dazzling, yet tempting, world of Vivaan, felt incredibly real.

This book is a beautiful exploration of what it means to choose yourself, to heal from old wounds, and to discover the fierce strength that lies within. Tara is so genuinely human- she's not flawless, she struggles, she doubts, but through it all, she keeps searching for her own voice and her own happiness.

Even though I wasn't entirely happy with the ending, the journey was so powerful that it still feels like a warm hug. It's a powerful and inspiring reminder that dreams are always worth chasing, no matter how far away they seem.

Tara’s story felt like sitting across from a friend who’s quietly carrying a storm inside her. Born into privilege but denied love, she runs from a life that looks perfect on the outside but is hollow within. What struck me most was how raw her struggles are, escaping a loveless marriage, trying to rebuild in Mumbai, and still being chased by her past.

The book captures that familiar tug between who we are expected to be and who we actually want to become. Kabir and Vivan bring in the contrasts of healing and passion, but at the heart of it, Tara’s fight is with herself and that’s what makes her so relatable.

It’s emotional, sometimes heavy, but ultimately hopeful. If you’ve ever tried to rewrite your own story, you’ll see yourself in hers. Not a fairy tale, but a journey of resilience and finding light after darkness.

Tara: The Dream Chaser by Nelofar Currimbuoy " takes
you on a whirlpool of emotions. It tells the story of a woman who dares to choose differently for herself.

Tara, the princess of Jaivangarh, grows up without fatherly love and with a mother so controlling that it suffocates her. A girl with dreams, she longs to break free from the royal golden cage and live life on her own terms. But everything comes at a cost. When she marries Vikram, she believes life will finally give her a chance. Instead, it turns shallow, with Vikram so ambitious that he is willing to stoop to any level.

One night, Tara runs away to Mumbai, leaving the shadows of past behind, carrying the scars that are unable to heal. There she meets Kabir, a photographer who sees her soul but is himself trapped in his past. Then comes Vivian Mehta, who is infatuated with Tara, and she finds herself drawn to both men in different ways. Torn apart, the lines between right and wrong blur. But is it ever easy to let go of what is deeply engraved within you? This is Tara’s journey of finding and rediscovering herself.

I was hooked on Tara because, despite being born into royalty, she is above all human—raw, flawed, and vulnerable. As a reader, I found her story deeply relatable. The emotional weight she carries, the courage to begin again, all felt too real.

At times, the story leans on familiar tropes and the pace slows, but the writing is lyrical and the emotions sincere. Supporting characters could have been explored more deeply, yet Tara’s voice remains compelling throughout.

Overall, it’s a poignant, character-driven novel about resilience, desire, and self-discovery. If you enjoy women-centered fiction with strong emotional arcs and themes of freedom, this book is worth reading.

Tara: The Dream Chaser by Nelofar Currimbhoy follows Tara, a woman born into privilege but trapped in a life that feels empty and restrictive. Raised in a royal household yet emotionally neglected, she enters a loveless marriage that further confines her spirit. Determined to break free, she moves to Mumbai, where she meets Kabir, a photographer who helps her rediscover herself, and Vivan, a Bollywood star who tempts her with glamour and desire. At its heart, the story is about her personal journey of self-discovery, love, and freedom.

What stood out for me was the focus on a female protagonist who is both strong and vulnerable. I really liked the emotional parts of the book, which worked very well and made the story feel alive.

The story also includes several motivating moments, which I always appreciate in fiction, as they carry meaning beyond mere entertainment. I enjoy when stories are not just about events but also leave a lasting impression. This book managed to do that for me.

The narration kept me engaged throughout, though the pace dipped slightly at times. While Tara’s character is deeply explored, some supporting characters could have been developed more to add additional layers and depth its just my opinion.

Overall, this is an engaging and meaningful read for anyone who enjoys stories centered on women, emotions, personal growth, and the search for identity.

"Tara - The Dream Chaser" by Nelofar Currimbhoy is a contemporary fiction. Tara, a woman who bears the royal Rajput blood, raised by a neglectful father and a dominating mother, wants nothing else but love. She moves to Mumbai to seek the same. Not only were her parents devoiding her of that, but even her husband.

Tara embodies a modern-day woman in very practical terms. This is not just another present day romance, but about freedom. The author has blended elements of drama, family, love, romance, despair, helplessness, and many more.

The reason this fits rightly to 2025 is because we live in an era where we can no longer bear the pressures of society, and that's exactly what Tara did.

For those of you looking for a rugged female protagonist, this is the right fit. The aesthetic book cover is extremely appealing. The writing is effortless and can be read very quickly. If anyone is also looking for Indian fiction, this can be a good recommendation.

There are stories that entertain you, and then there are stories that hold up a mirror, not to the world as it appears, but to the quiet corners of a woman’s soul. "Tara: The Dream Chaser" by Nelofar Currimbhoy belongs to the later one. It is not just the tale of a modern-day princess shackled by lineage and expectation, it’s an aching portrait of what it means to reclaim one’s selfhood after being silenced, suffocated, and subdued by tradition, patriarchy, and emotional neglect.

Tara is born into Rajput royalty. Her life, wrapped in silk and suffused with loneliness, begins under the strict eyes of a cold father and the domination of a mother who confuses control with care. Her royal blood gradually becomes her curse; every decision is dictated, every emotion she has is closely monitored. Love, for Tara, becomes a forbidden language, something she can always feel, but never have the courage to speak.

Tara is a remarkably layered protagonist. She is flawed, sometimes impulsive, sometimes in search of herself and not always easy to understand, which is precisely why she feels real and relatable. Her yearning for love after trauma, her mistakes, and her choices all bear the texture of a living, breathing human being.

Kabir, the Bengali-French photographer with whom she met in Mumbai, serves as the emotional counterpoint to her brokenness. Their bond is soft, tender, intimate, and healing, less a romance and more a mirror through which she rediscovers her own reflection.

Vivan Mehta, the Bollywood star, embodies another dimension or say a new kind of temptation, fame, glamour, dream and desire without have much depth. His presence reintroduces Tara to the chaos of visibility, contrasting Kabir’s quiet understanding with the intoxicating lure of attention.

What makes the author's narrative stand apart is the way she refuses to romanticize royalty or privilege. There are no existence of any palaces of gold here, but only gilded cages, and the quiet desperation of a woman who is trapped in them. When Tara eventually breaks herself free, leaving behind a loveless, emotionless, abusive marriage, the act doesn’t come with cinematic grandeur or thematic excellence; but it comes with the search dignity of a woman and her bravery who has already had enough traumas and pains faced in life.

Above its romantic and dramatic layers, the book carries a philosophical edge because it questions like,
✨ what freedom means when one’s identity has been shaped entirely by others?
✨ Can love truly heal the wounds of generational trauma?
✨ Can a woman born into tradition ever fully detach from its ghost?

Her story quietly argues that liberation is not just a destination but an ongoing never ending act. It is a daily negotiation within yourself in between fear and courage, loss and renewal. The book’s emotional climax, her decision to finally walk away from both men and choosing solitude over dependency on anyone, is where her true strength lies and eventually she explored it.

✍️ Strengths :

🔸Deeply emotional plotline and empathetic portrayal of a woman’s self-liberation against her own dilemmas.

🔸Vivid and straightforward brutally real writing that immerses readers in both inner and outer worlds.

🔸Strong feminist undertones without turning it one dimensional or didactic.

🔸Poetic symbolism which are connecting different metaphors in this book like land, identity, and autonomy are really impressive and gives a fresh Breeze to the reading.

✒️ Weaknesses :

▪️Some secondary characters (especially Kabir) are completely left underexplored.

▪️Certain emotional beats rely too heavily on emotions which eventually looks bit melodrama.

▪️The pacing slightly dips in certain parts, with abrupt transitions between scenes that makes the book confusing.

In conclusion, it is not a perfect book, but it is an important one. It breathes humanity into privilege, pain into perfection, and strength into softness. It reminds us that courage isn’t loud or glamorous; sometimes, it’s just a woman standing up to say, enough.
By the time you close the book, Tara isn’t merely a character, she lingers like a presence, a question, a quiet ache. Her story reminds us that some lives don’t need fairy-tale endings to be beautiful; they need truth, healing, and the strength to walk away when love demands too much. The author's writing captures all that and more, the sorrow, the sensuality, and the stunning resilience of the human spirit.

🙋🏻‍♀️An unputdownable, pageturner, the story of TARA is relatable, realistic yet a perfect script for a movie! And without giving any spoilers, let me tell you, the ending is something that comes as a total surprise.
Towards the end, right before the epilogue, my heart sank because yes, the story was coming to an end like a karmic cycle which was satisfying still the love story of Tara was something I was rooting for too but the author very swiftly gave it a surprising ending, not a HEA but a very good ending.
It's rare, that you enjoy the beginning, the climax as well as the ending of a story, a job well done.
A screen adaptation would be a welcome addition, just saying. :)
I loved the writing style, the language & the vocab used in this book, i have annotated it heavily.
Even though, it's written by an Indian author, so yes the language used would have been simple & beginner friendly to appeal to the masses, still it is goood.
Also, I wasn't aware the author is the daughter of "the Shahnaz Husain". She's an enigma, especially for us 90's kids. Therefore, yes, this information made a soft corner for the author in my heart.
The cover is appropriate for the story yet I believe it could have been better, something more eye catching.

I am definately going to check out the previous two books by the author.

‘In Tara, Nelofar Currimbhoy reveals a rare gift for storytelling that is at once lucid and layered, elegant and immersive. With an assured voice and a storyteller’s instinct, she weaves a narrative that blends reality with imagination, the spiritual with the mysterious and the glittering with shadow into a seamless mosaic. Her words flow effortlessly, capturing the delicate threads of longing, ambition and the enigma of human connection. Her characters are strikingly alive— flawed, vivid and deeply human—anchoring a plot that simmers with quiet tension and emotional resonance. This is a novel that seduces you slowly, pulls you in and refuses to let go. Tara is not just a novel; it is an experience.’

When I say this book "gripped" me and swallowed me whole, I do not say it with the slightest trace of exaggeration. Hours dissolved around me, the day blurred into night, and before I knew it, twelve hours had slipped past, without a single thought of putting it down.

To begin with, I should first describe the emotions that washed over me while reading the book. Curiosity first tugged at me, only to deepen into intrigue. What began as disapproval slowly turned into understanding. Irritation simmered into restless angst, and anger rose, sharp and consuming, until it hardened into vengeance. Then came the warmth, fleeting and fragile, only to shatter into heartbreak. From that ruin bloomed encouragement, which swelled into empowerment, before circling back once again to heartbreak. Yet this time, it did not crush me. It opened me, strangely willing to see the world through a wider lens. It was a cycle, you see.

And, if you’ve made it this far reading my review, I think you’ll enjoy this book, because it’s beautifully descriptive. I especially loved how the author paints scenes with such a thoughtful choice of words. As I read, I felt like I built a bond with Tara. There were moments I found myself actually shouting at her - “Girl, what are you doing?” and then later whispering, “Okay, I understand you now… even though it breaks my heart to see it through.”

The way Kabir unraveled her layers made us, the readers, feel like spectators who also joined in unraveling her mind. And I must say, she truly is an interesting and promising character. I grew very fond of the plot, the way the story developed, and yet the ending... the ending was nothing I saw coming. As I turned the final pages, my chest tightened, and a drop or two may have slipped from my eyes.

At first, I could not comprehend why Tara chose what she chose. But when I sat with it, I realized something: Every person carries their own truths, their own compass of right and wrong. The line between them isn’t always clear, it is the matter of perception and conscience. As Tara herself reflects in one of the chapters, it is about doing what feels true, even when the world may not understand. To conclude, yes, I was punching pillows and cursing in anger during certain scenes, and then only a few moments later, I found my heart softening when Tara found refuge in Kabir. And that’s exactly what writers hope for, to make readers live alongside the characters they’ve created.

Nelofar Currimbhoy's Tara: The Dream Chaser follows the life of Tara, born into Rajput royalty, yet made to feel starved of affection and stifled by expectations. Tara grew up with a dominating mother and a neglected father, which influenced her need for independence and love. When Tara can no longer stand the restrictions of a loveless marriage, she flees to Mumbai, in the hopes of starting over. There she meets Kabir, a photographer who breaks through her barriers and inspires her to love and heal. However, Bollywood's magnetic golden boy, Vivan Mehta, entices her into passion and temptation just as she begins to believe in a brighter future. Tara is forced to choose between duty and desire, independence and commitment, as she is confronted by the shadows of her past - her husband's presence, her mother's intentions.

Tara is portrayed by Currimbhoy in a way that is neither idealistic nor entirely appealing, but rather extremely believable. She allows Tara to be vulnerable, weak, regretful, and prone to mistakes. The writing is vivid; the emotional quotient is well-balanced, the narrative delicately strikes a balance between grit and glamour, and the inevitable contrast between the messy real world and the royal history adds complexity. Setting a story in Mumbai makes more room for both opportunity and harsh living, owing to Tara's self-growth and discovery. it serves as a reminder that freedom doesn’t come without cost. The romantic tensions with Kabir and Vivan are handled in a way that feels more than just love triangles — they reflect different paths of healing and self-discovery.

I feel some of the supporting characters should have been fleshed out more; Also, although the emotional journey is excellent, the speed fluctuates—some chapters convey significant contemplation and impede the momentum, which may stress readers who prefer a more plot-driven story. I wished for more surprises in how Tara’s choices unfold — perhaps riskier or less expected consequences.

Overall, Tara: The Dream Chaser is a compelling story of a woman's quest for her identity, voice, and independence. It achieves its goals with authenticity and emotional realism. This book will be of interest to readers who enjoy character-driven stories with flawed heroines, moral uncertainty, and emotional development.

"Tara The Dream Chaser" is a story about Tara's journey. Tara is from a Rajput royal family, but she didn't receive love from her family. After marriage, she thought she would finally get love, but this dream was shattered after her marriage. Tara is living a neglectful life, abandoned by her mother and her husband. Now, Tara is just living her father's legacy and wants to help her people, but destiny takes a turn. The person she chose to love now wants to kill her, and Tara couldn't manage this pretentious life. She escapes from her home and comes to the city of dreams—Mumbai. Here, some of her dreams come true, but her duty as a princess and as a daughter of her land is calling her. She has to choose between living freely or fulfilling here duty.

I like this book. I thought this book would be a story about a girl who escapes from her house, comes to Mumbai, and struggles between her dreams and two lovers, but I didn't know this book touches on deep topics. This is fast-paced and sometimes makes you sit on the edge. I like the tension between Vivan Mehta, and I also appreciate the calmness of Kabir's love, but neither of them is good at expressing their feelings. Vivan can't accept his feelings, and Kabir didn't feel his old feelings. Sometimes, or most of the time, I felt this book is like a movie, where you watch love, action, betrayal from family, and self-sacrifice for people. The storytelling was in a movie format, where the movie starts with the character running from her home and her journey in a new city. When life takes a turn, the movie takes you into the backstory of the character, and after that, they show the present and what will happen next.

I understand her mother when she behaves like this after her husband's death, but after Tara's marriage, I really dislike her mother and what she says about her husband. How can a person become so inhuman for money? This book shows a great lesson about how sometimes great people give up their precious persons or things for society's betterment and sacrifice themselves for others.

Tara The Dream Chaser by Nelofar Currimbhoy is a story of a Rajput princess who looks privileged from the outside but inside she is just a girl craving for love and freedom. Tara has grown up in a palace where everything looks grand but feels empty (हाथी के दांत दिखाने के अलग और खाने के अलग). Her mother is always dominating her father hardly shows care and Tara’s childhood becomes a lonely one. When she is married off things do not get better. The marriage is loveless built only for power and control and at one point even her husband wants her out of the way dead. I was really shocked.

Her strength and courage is felt when she runs from all and goes to Mumbai. That move is the real turning point. Tara slowly tries to rebuild herself. She meet Kabir a photographer who understands her pain and later comes Vivan Mehta Bollywood star who brings charm and confusion into her world. Between Kabir and Vivan Tara faces tough choices between love, temptation, stability and her dreams.

The author has not made Tara some perfect heroine. She is shown real sometimes weak, doubtful, making mistakes but never fully giving up. That rawness makes her journey relatable. The book shows how Tara is stuck between duty and freedom.

Actually this isn't about a princess it’s about a woman trying to live life her way. From a golden spoon to chasing dreams in Mumbai it feels emotional and inspiring. I actually felt her pain, strength and those little moments of hope.

Highlights:

Tara had lonely childhood with her dominating mother and neglected father
Tara has a loveless and painful marriage that almost destroys
Taras courage to escape to Mumbai and the beginning of her new life
Kabir the photographer who helps Tara heal
Vivan Mehta the Bollywood star who brings both charm and confusion to Tara
In here Tara is shown as flawed, vulnerable but strong hearted
Themes found: courage, freedom, love and chasing dreams

"Tara" by Nelofar Currimbhoy is an emotional rollercoaster story of a Rajput princess. A princess who, after fleeing from her suffocating gilded cage, finds herself in the city of dreams searching for freedom. And we witness her journey of finding that freedom and her own self.

The book starts with a heart-pounding scene, where Tara is fleeing from her husband and her status as a princess; the urgency of this situation and the intensity of it will hook you to the story until you finish the whole thing.

Tara is the main star of the book; her relationship with her husband, her princess status and obligations, and her relationships with Kabir and Vivian, and most importantly with herself, are so intricately done that you would be holding your breath to know what Tara will do next. The transition from a timid girl to a free, independent, and powerful woman who is ready to leave her love and her essence behind because she knows that's the best for all will impress you and also make you tear up for Tara.

I personally don't like love triangles, but here in this book, the way the author beautifully and intricately presents that will not make you resent but understand the emotional turmoil of Tara. Also her firm decision and understanding of her own self and her own duty above all will make you like her the most.

Apart from her relationships and love affairs, she becomes a powerful character by learning and understanding how she can use her power and status to help the needed, how she stands up for the right, even knowing it will drag her to her old life.

So if you want to read about a woman-centric, modern-day royalty, a woman's fight for finding her freedom, her purpose in life, finding love, and learning things, then you should definitely pick this book up. It will be a fascinating treat.

Every time I read a book, I feel a range of emotions about the characters and story, and now, after reading Tara, it was no different. Is it her ambitions that I admire or her compassionate heart? Is it her forgiving virtue or courage in her veins?

Tara is a story soaked in dreams, family drama, a love that doesn’t bind and a girl who wishes nothing but the best for her trustees. Leaving behind a toxic marriage, Tara lands in Mumbai for her safety. What she left behind is not only her marriage but also the people of Jaivangarh, only to come back with a ferocity that none could imagine. Her mother, being the chamber of suction to her dreams, her husband, an ignorant and arrogant man, was completely lured by her mother-in-law. One has to do something to break the clutches that hold them from flying and that’s what Tara did. What lies in Mumbai is something worthy of what unveils in her life ahead.

Kabir, a free soul meets Tara through her best friend Divya. Vivan, a famous actor is smitten by Tara. In this whirlwind of emotions, what does she do? Will she achieve what she has been longing for? Will she receive what she has been craving for?

The blurb gave me a hint of a woman rising from the ashes story but what I have read is different to what it portrayed. Although I experienced many highs and lows in this tale, the conversations between Tara and Kabir have been my favourite. The book has 3 parts, which give us a vibe of some Princess on a mission story but, it also tenderly speaks of the story of a woman without the tag of princess. The last part is what I admired the most. At some instances, the elevations in narrative felt so striking like what we might feel in films but were so apt.

It’s a bit filmy yet entertains the readers with blooming love and passion. It’s been a rollercoaster ride reading this, as the narration didn’t feel so fluid but the end was admirable. It’s a one-time read for me.

This novel tells the story of Tara, a woman born into Rajput royalty, raised in an atmosphere of neglect and control. Her father is indifferent, her mother overbearing, and love—though deeply desired—remains forever elusive. Tara’s life, though gilded with privilege, feels like a prison. She was married to Vikram. Tara ran away to Divya as soon as she heard that Vikram was planning to kill her. Kamala Jaiveergiri is Divya’s mother. Kamala and Rajan Jaiveer has belonged to Mumbai’s ‘New Royalty’.

In search of freedom, she breaks away from a loveless marriage to Vikram and moves to Mumbai, the City of Dreams. Here, she meets Kabir, Mirza Kabir Dubey, a Bengali-French photographer who recognizes the woman hidden behind her carefully constructed defenses. With him, Tara experiences the possibility of healing, renewal, and the promise of love.

But just as she begins to imagine a future, another complication enters her life—Vivan Mehta, Bollywood’s golden boy, charismatic and enigmatic. Drawn into his world of passion and temptation, Tara is thrust into a spotlight she never asked for.

The narrative beautifully captures Tara’s struggle between past and present, tradition and self-liberation. The shadow of Vikram’s control and her mother’s manipulations remain constant reminders that breaking free is never simple. The heart of the story lies in Tara’s choices—between duty and freedom, desire and restraint, surrender and self-preservation.

This book is not just about romance; it is about a woman’s journey toward self-discovery, the courage it takes to challenge destiny, and the resilience to heal from scars of the past. It asks a haunting question: Can we ever truly let go of where we come from?

A poignant, layered read—perfect for those who love stories of love, loss, and the pursuit of freedom in a world full of expectations.

"Tara: The Dream Chaser" is more than just a novel - it's the journey of a woman who dares to chase what many might have abandoned along the way. It is the story of courage, resilience and unshakeable belief in her dreams, even when the odds seemed stacked against her. Tara’s life reminds us that true strength lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we do. It’s a book that inspires you to keep moving forward, no matter how impossible the path may seem.

The story revolves around Tara, our rajput princess FMC, who was supposed to adhere to the conservatism traditions of a rajput household . The book captures not just her challenges, but also her spirit - the unyielding hope and drive that keeps her chasing her dreams against all odds. Tara, being a princess had everything, except love and free will. Despite all the odds Tara didn't give up and fought for what she wanted. She fled her home and went to Mumbai where she met with Kabir, who recognized and accepted her true self, and also she met with Vivan, a dazzling superstar who introduced her to the glittering yet demanding world of glamour. Between chasing her ambitions, navigating love, and facing her inner battles, Tara’s life becomes a whirlwind of dreams, emotions, and resilience. Her story is a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, it’s our courage and choices that shape the person we become.

The author's writing style is so good that it will immediately pull you into the story and keep you hooked to it. Tara's journey was inspirational and
taught me many things about life in the most unexpected way. The author wrote with so much passion and her writing style is so realistic that at times I could relate to Tara's journey completely.

If you are looking for a story about a strong-willed, fierce and resilient female protagonist - "Tara: The Dream Chaser" is a perfect read for you.

This book really left me awestruck when I read the ending. If you are a person with a bigger perspective and a non-judgmental attitude, then this book will definitely be the best choice.

The book is divided into three parts. Each part revolves around Tara and her different phases of life, which include struggles, obstacles, the pressure of being born into a Rajput (princess) family, disappointment with her mother, losing true love, being tired of seeking attention, and her persistence in standing for the village people and farmers and saving the land from corporate skyscrapers.

The book begins with our main protagonist, Tara, who was on her way to the airport to leave Jaipur. She was in a hurry not to get caught by her husband, Vikram, and tried her best to cover herself well with a scarf. She finally rested in ease once she boarded the flight and dozed off immediately when the flight took off.

Tara was welcomed by her friend Divya, and destiny made her meet Kabir at her place. She was smitten by him and slowly fell for him. Though both loved each other, they still kept their past hidden and never shared it.
When Tara shared her past with Kabir, things slowly unfolded, and Kabir got to understand Tara’s dream and next move. Because of Kabir, Tara gets to meet her childhood crush, Vivan, and she approaches him for her dream project. Slowly everything goes the way Tara wanted, and whether she succeeded in her motive is the rest of the story.

In this generation, people tend to live the way they want, and no one must dare to judge them before knowing their back story. This was made really clear, and I really felt proud of Tara’s bold decision and her sacrifices. It is indeed true we live once but are reincarnated multiple times in the same lifetime.

Stars will keep shining even in the daylight!

This is the story of a woman who refuses to be broken by circumstances. It follows Nayan Tara Kumari, a modern-day Rajput princess, born into privilege but denied love and freedom.
From childhood neglect to an abusive marriage, her life is filled with struggle and disappointment. Yet Tara is not a character who surrenders to fate. She chooses to fight back, chasing her dreams with resilience and courage.
I liked how Tara was portrayed. She is not flawless. She makes mistakes, acts impulsively, and often frustrates you with her choices, but that makes her all the more human.
I couldn’t help but root for her as she seeks love, dignity, and a life that she truly deserved. The move to Mumbai marks her rebirth and a chance to rediscover herself, and through Kabir and Vivan, she learns about both the healing power of love and the dazzling pull of ambition.
The writing is simple yet powerful, full of emotion that flows effortlessly through every chapter. Each scene is vivid, almost cinematic, and the storytelling is so immersive that you feel every ache, every joy, and every triumph Tara experiences. The relationship between Tara and Kabir is especially heartfelt, bringing warmth and tenderness to her otherwise stormy journey. I hated Vikram and also Tara’s mother and the way they treated her.
The ending was not something I expected, but I guess Tara found her peace that way!
I finished this book in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. It’s inspiring, emotional, and deeply moving. Tara’s story is more than just about escaping pain. It’s about reclaiming her identity, chasing her ambitions, and daring to believe that strength and love can coexist.
If you enjoy character-driven stories about strong women and journeys filled with raw emotion, this is a book worth picking up.

Tara is born into Rajput royalty but is denied love and warmth by both her parents — a neglectful father and a controlling mother; the expectations and duties of royal family add up to this burden. Tara grows up yearning for genuine love and freedom as her life always felt like a cage. As she further feels trapped in a non-existent marriage with Vikram, she runs away to Mumbai with an intention to begin a fresh life.

In Mumbai Tara hides her identity and meets two contrasting personalities — Kabir a Bengali-French photographer who sees the real Tara beneath her fake exterior, Vivan Mehta the charismatic Bollywood dude who represents all things glamor. When confronted with these two options, Tara is forced to choose between healing love of Kabir and thrilling passion of Vivan. How will this journey help Tara find herself forms the rest of the story.

The story follows the life of a modern day princess who tries to break free from the golden cage that is a part of royal families. The story begins with Tara’s desire for freedom, love and her own individual identity. The narration gains pace once Tara meets Kabir and Vivan.

The relatability of Tara’s character is the USP, her journey of healing and self-discovery will keep the reader engaged. The resilience of the protoganist is well portrayed by the author which is major highlight of the story. However, the romance feels rushed and should have been developed in a slow fashion to make it more enjoyable to the reader. Also, the supporting characters should have got more mileage and better character arc.

Overall, the novel makes for a quick read for fans of contemporary romances and women’s fiction as Tara’s journey of self-discovery is impressive.

Tara was born into a Rajput royal family, but love was something she never received. Her father always turned a cold shoulder, while her mother’s dominating nature kept her silent and distant. Pushed into a marriage she never wished for, Tara’s search for love remained a dream that never came true. Her world shatters when she learns that her own husband, Vikramjit, is plotting to kill her. Terrified, she escapes to Mumbai, unaware that this one decision will change her lifeforever.
Why does Vikramjit want to kill her?
What secrets lie hidden in Tara’s past?
Read the book and find out.

I enjoyed reading Tara the Dream Chaser because it had some strong points. The first thing I liked was the beginning. It was gripping enough and made me want to know what happens next. I also liked the way the story showed important themes like how people with power ignore the struggles of common people, how marriages can become toxic, and how unexpected love can bring hope. Another thing that stayed with me was the message of the book. It shows that no matter how hard life gets, justice is worth fighting for and kindness can still be found.

At the same time, I felt there were some things that could have been better. The characters did not feel very memorable to me. After finishing more than two hundred and fifty pages I wanted at least one or two characters to stay in my mind but that did not really happen. I also wished for more emotional depth. The themes were important but the story needed stronger moments and dialogues that touched the heart.

Overall, I think Tara the Dream Chaser is a book with meaningful intentions. It may not be perfect but it has value for readers who look beyond small details and focus on the bigger message.

Some books just stay with you,  making you reflect on the life you’re building, the love you’re giving, and the dreams you’re following. Tara – The Dream Chaser by Nelofar Currimbhoy is one such book, truly an unputdownable read that lingers long after the last page. It’s not just a story; it’s a journey of courage, choices, and chasing purpose. It’s one of those rare books that feels cinematic yet deeply intimate, and its echoes stay long after you close it. It’s the story of Tara, the Princess of Jaivangarh, whose life is far from a fairy tale, a modern-day princess trapped in the illusions of royalty. At first glance, Tara seems to have it all - a royal lineage, privilege, and power. But beneath the glittering façade of the palace lies a web of deceit, secrets, and betrayal. When she discovers the harsh truth, her only choice is to escape, not just the palace walls, but everything she once called home.

Reading Tara – The Dream Chaser made me pause and think about how often we stay where we no longer belong, out of fear, comfort, or attachment — and how freeing it feels when we finally choose ourselves. Tara’s journey reminded me that chasing dreams isn’t always about ambition; sometimes, it’s about healing, rebuilding, and creating a world where your heart feels at home. This book isn’t just about a princess; it’s about every dreamer learning to walk through uncertainty with grace. And maybe that’s why, even after closing the last page, I found myself whispering - “You won’t find a new world; you have to create one.”

Tara : The Dream Chaser was my first book by this author & it was simply a feast to read it.

The book follows Tara, a Rajput princess who is fleeing from her abusive marriage and toxic relationship with her mother. The book dives into the struggles she faced as a lover, daughter, woman, wife and ultimately as a princess.

Initially I felt Tara was just a wild spirit who was looking for an outlet from all the expectations and tensions she had to face. Even though we have an uneasy feel regarding her plight; the instant connection she has towards Kabir, her crush towards Vivan and all the impromptu things she does makes sense as you enter into the second half of the book. After that you can't help but yearn to help and empathize with Tara.

I feel that the second half is really strong as we explore the backstory and the complex relationship Tara shares with her parents, her legacy and responsibilities she takes on as the story progresses. Tara is a really complex character; initially we see her yearning for her father's acceptance, then her mother's approval, her lover's affection, her people's trust in her abilities. I strongly felt for Tara's character; I mean she was basically a good daughter who just wanted her parents to accept and love her, a devoted wife who wanted to love her husband completely; yet the injustice she had to face through her life was inhumane and unjustified. The stand she takes towards the end of the book makes us realise how strong a woman can be no matter the odds she has to face in our life. Tara in my eyes is a fighter, a true leader, more over a queen who is a true example for all of us.

The book is very well written, it's not a thriller but it kept me wanting to go on reading. The plot is good too, but nothing mind blowing. I didn't like the protagonists as characters, Tara and Kabir. To me, their thought processes and actions seemed very fickle. Tara could do something to hurt the other person over and over again and then play as if she's innocent and has nothing in control. Then when it comes to taking decisions that'll affect another person apart from her, she makes those decisions on her own whim and doesn't even account for the other person's feelings of wishes. Yes, she had been through tough situations, but that doesn't mean she's not responsible for the consequences of her actions. Coming to Kabir, he is very indecisive, just like Tara and cannot pick a choice to save his life. Treat him badly and ask him to come back cutely, he will. He's so smitten that he can't even see that the person in front of him won't even account for what he wants. Even though a few of Tara's work are actually good, like the social work she does, she as a person is not someone I would like to cross paths with. She says a person seems evil from afar, then rushes to that very person when she needed help; that is hypocritical. But yes the character of Rajmata has been described well, she had every bit of the vibe that belongs to a typical hindi serial villain. I loved the author's writing style, very clear and easy to read through, with a hint of metaphors and lyricism, especially in the dialogues. The author has portrayed the familial tensions of Tara's house really well. I would definitely encourage any fiction lover to read this book.

Tara, The dream chaser ✨is a fiction work by Nelofar Currimbhoy published by Rupa Publication.
This book consits of 3 parts divided in 34 total chapters, a total count of 274 pages.

Beginning the book with so much intention of getting motivated by the protagonist and I am sure I fall in love with the way Tara, the protagonist actually appears in the story.
The story set up in Mumbai where Tara landed taking a flight to freedom, she is here to begin, to live, to breathe free in fresh air of mumbai. Vikram , her toxic husband cursed her life to make her leave home.
Divya, her friend in Mumbai called her to visit at Jaiveer mahal, where she felt comforted.
At a party, having a simple yet beautiful conversation with Kabir, the photojournalist was a good moment I felt for Tara.
Tara and Divya had a gossip about tara's toxic marriage.
Conversations exchanged between Tara and Divya, which felt so relatbly true and consumed. Soft and warm sense of appearance Tara and Kabir had at Rustom was excitingly beautiful just like a new start.

Tara, is a broken soul and mind that stopped trusting men after the abusive marriage, but who knows what was destined?

To know if Tara and Kabir could become more than friends and start a life, you should pick the book now.
The storytelling is so keen and engaging that will keep you hooked. Characters development , their colliding at each step is so apt which isn't just feeling imaginery but so true to admire.
If you want to learn about how could someone heal from a most menacing experience and the strength of women, this is a good to pick up book. ✨

Well, I am here with one of my favourite book's reviews....Tara – The Dream Chaser is a novel which beautifully interlaces royalty, tradition, and the ordeal of a contemporary woman. The FMC, Tara, is born to the Rajput royalty but lives anything but a life of luxury. Her childhood is marked by neglect at the hands of her father and domination at the hands of her mother, making her feel lonely and starved of love. The book describes her average marriage, less of an affair of the heart and more of an issue of power and ownership. It is the cruel fate of most conventionally bound women. Tara's inner strength is that she does not give in entirely...she has the courage to get out and make her own destiny. Her journey leads her to Mumbai, where she meets Kabir, a photographer who helps her and heals her wounds, and then Vivan Mehta, the Bollywood heartthrob, who draws her into a whirlpool of temptation and passion. The author makes her own struggles within...freedom versus tradition and self-preservation versus sacrifice. The distinction that sets this book apart is Tara's raw, imperfect, and genuine nature. She isn't perfect, but her strength makes her indelible. This book is totally worth reading, and if you like a book with a strong FMC, then this book is totally for you!I just want to be her at some point because she is so strong and mature, and the author has written this book in such a beautiful way that I can't explain how amazing this book is!! This book is totally worth reading!

This book had me hooked from the very first page. Even though it wasn’t really a romance, I couldn’t put it down. It follows Tara, a modern princess who runs away after discovering that her own husband wants to kill her. Born into royalty and bound by endless restrictions, she finally breaks free and that’s when her real journey begins. A journey of healing, of finding her strength, of fighting for her right to exist on her own terms.

Soon after escaping, she meets Kabir, a French photographer with his own scars from the past. I loved how he became her safe place, someone who helped her heal and reminded her that trusting another soul and even love was still possible. The way he was just there for her, quietly holding her when she needed it most.

But Tara’s past doesn’t stay behind. It keeps haunting her, shaking her, yet she doesn’t let it break her. Then comes Vivian, Bollywood’s golden boy, and honestly, I loved his unapologetic dark aura. He helped Tara share her hidden story with the world—the pain, the betrayal, the longing, and the invisibility she had endured, even from her own mother and husband.

The ending shattered me. It wasn’t the one I wanted for Tara, but it was the one that showed how truly strong she had become. And then there’s Krish. Oh, Krish. I adored him, still adore him, and probably always will. His love for Tara was pure, selfless, and unwavering. He never once doubted her, and I so badly wanted them to end up together but some things just aren’t meant to be, I guess.

Yes, there were a few loose ends, like her father’s story and Vikram’s demise, that felt unfinished. But overall, this book was powerful, emotional, and so worth the read. It broke me, healed me, and made me root for Tara every step of the way.

“Tara: The Dream Chaser” is a compelling story that pulls you into the life of Tara, a modern-day princess whose life is far from a fairy tale.

What struck me most was Tara’s undying determination to seek justice and avenge not only herself but also her people. Her strength is mirrored beautifully by Kabir, her anchor, whose unwavering support and quiet commitment provided her stability, even knowing she was a wave destined to move past him. And then there’s Vivaan, his presence magnetic, electric, and impossible to ignore, who gave Tara the wings she most deserved.

The book unfolds in three powerful parts: Tara’s desperate escape from a suffocating world, the recounting of her past and what shaped her, and finally, her pursuit of revenge and transformation. The writing is flawless, touching on themes of forgotten duties of the powerful, the corrupting influence of greed, and the quiet yet fierce way love can bloom in the darkest corners of the heart.

The men in Tara’s journey are painted with rare grace. Kabir, Krish, and Vivaan, none forcing her into submission but instead giving her space, strength, and wings. The bond with Kabir is beautifully healing, their souls meeting as wanderers. Krish, as her first love, offers tenderness and guidance, while Vivaan, though attracted, holds fast to his principle of never forcing love.

The ending left me broken in a bittersweet way, a reminder that not everything is meant for us. Kabir’s theory of living many reincarnations in a single lifetime resonated deeply, making this a story that lingers.

Tara the Dream Chaser is a striking exploration of a woman’s struggle between individual desire and the crushing weight of social expectation. Far from the fairy-tale promises of her royal lineage, Tara’s world is shaped by the cold distance of a neglectful father, the calculated ambitions of a domineering mother, and the harsh reality of a loveless marriage arranged without agency. The novel does not shy away from navigating morally fraught and emotionally charged terrain—extramarital affairs conducted both in defiance of and in negotiation with marriage, the haunting decision of abortion, and the desperation of fleeing one’s family under unconventional circumstances. These choices, while controversial, are framed not as sensational acts, but as urgent responses to survival and self-definition.What makes the story resonate is the way the glitter of Mumbai’s high society collides with its darker underbelly, creating a setting that mirrors Tara’s own contradictions—her longing for passion against her duty-bound existence. The prose allows space for both romance and grit, ensuring that the emotional stakes remain raw and immediate. At its core, the novel is less about scandal than about the existential quest for selfhood. Tara becomes more than a character; she is a prism through which questions of freedom, identity, and endurance are refracted. Restless, flawed, yet undeniably human, she embodies the tension between societal scripts and personal truth—making her journey not only believable but also quietly universal.

Honestly, I picked up Tara: The Dream Chaser because of its title. There was something quietly intriguing about it, something that made me curious to know who she really was and what her story would be. I wanted to trace her life through the pages and see what kind of woman she turned out to be beneath that simple, beautiful name.

Tara, a Rajput princess and wife of Vikramjit, flees from her life one night. She boards the first flight out to her freedom and lands in Mumbai, a city that promises both anonymity and new beginnings. Away from the suffocating walls of her royal home, she begins to rebuild herself piece by piece. Along the way, she meets Kabir, a photographer whose calm steadiness offers her solace, and later Vivan Mehta, a charismatic Bollywood figure who sweeps her into a whirlwind of desire and illusion. But what Tara doesn’t know is that freedom has its own price and the journey to find herself will demand far more than just escape.

What I liked most about the book is how Nelofar Currimbhoy captures Tara’s emotional restlessness, that ache of wanting more from life but not knowing what “more” really means. The writing feels honest and cinematic, painting Tara’s world with both grace and loneliness. I did feel some parts moved too quickly, especially her shift from one phase of life to another, but the essence of her search stays powerful. The book isn’t just about a woman running away, it’s about the quiet strength it takes to start over, and the cost of finally becoming your own person.
