Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.
Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.
Series and book spoilers ahead. You've just been warned
So I love Naruto. I love the series, I love the character, and I've loved the video games (I played and owned many of them over the years.) I never wrote reviews for the majority of the series and the idea of writing 72 reviews seems daunting. So instead I wrote a review for book one and now I'm writing a review/ode to the series for book 72.
I've read Naruto from the beginning, the start of Team 7, the fight with Zabuza and Haku, the Chunnin Exams, and the multitude of other amazing moments. I loved it the teams, Konoha, the jutsu I still would've love to see someone call out the wrong jutsu on purpose to surprise the enemy, and the world from the start.
I was there for the rasengans...
...and yes there were a lot.
I loved the techniques like Sage Mode, Tailed Beast Mode, and the Eight Gates. Sage Mode is still my favorite.
I watched Naruto grow from a goofy kid with pervy jutsu to the savior of the shinobi world and I loved every bit of it.
If Kishimoto ever decides to make another full series on the world of Naruto then I'll absolutely read it. So farewell Naruto, it's been a wild ride.
The end Of Naruto! I honestly didn't think I would see it any time soon. I used to tell my friends that our grandchildren may have to tell us the ending!XD Glad I was wrong. I can't give this series anything less than 5 stars. I have grown up with this Manga. I have written fanfictions for this Manga! I have so many many fond memories from this Manga, making theories with my friends, complaining over fillers and worrying over our favorite characters. Naruto , my dear brave annoying boy, I will always treasure you. This is not a goodbye!
I felt nostalgic reading the final pages of this manga series. I’ve immensely enjoyed this franchise over the past several years. Honestly a great world with layered, sympathetic characters. Kudos to the creators.
It's hard to be anything but speechless after going through all that.
Most of the volume was taken up between a good and solid resolution between Naruto and Sasuke, with the final fight that had been so damn necessary from the beginning of the manga and brought to such a howling crescendo.
It was absolutely gorgeous. I cried like a babe. The message was friendship, and no matter how many times the theme has been pounded into my thick skull over the length of the manga, it still resonates because it's true.
What I really wanted more of was the very last chapter, ten years later, and giving us a LOT MORE. The Gaiden was also good, but that's also finished, of course, and now I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs and wanting to know what else is going to happen, because we DON'T KNOW. How is the ninja world now? Did Naruto succeed in wiping out the cycle of hate? Does Sasuke come home every once in a while to grab a little nookie? I want to know!
Sigh.
I guess that's what all the forums are for. Hell, most of them are probably all deep web by now. If anyone out there wants to send me any links to any slash, please skip it. I want serious story. :)
What a damn awesome series, and it deserves all the props and fanbase it has got. I don't care one shit about all the haters. :)
There's no heterosexual way to explain that last confrontation between Sasuke and Naruto. Their relationship as a whole is one of those things that are gay but homophobic at the same time. 'Cause none of the ships they ended up in actually make sense.
Hinata had a one-sided crush on Naruto, and even after she confessed her feelings to him, he literally didn't care. In fact, their chemistry is so inexistent that they needed a movie, after the story itself was over, to give their relationship some background. In Sakura's case, it's really gross and disturbing that she ended up marrying a man that tried to kill her and was nothing but indifferent, cruel, and abusive towards her for the entire series. I don't even know how to feel about them having a child. Sasuke prioritizing his self-enlightening journeys over his duties as a parent is bad, but on a second thought, maybe he's not the kind of person you want around your kid.
In fact, aside from Shikamaru and a very tired-looking Temari (she's like "i'm so fucking done with everything"), none of the pairings make any sense, since there was literally 0 build up for any of them. But that's the Naruto brand, right?
Making Kakashi the Hokage was so unnecessary, there was nothing wrong with Tsunade, and kind of undeserving. He failed his students big time. Didn't give Sasuke any form of moral or emotional support for his trauma before he finally left the village, instead, he told him to suck it up. Didn't help Naruto to get over with his very unhealthy obsession for Sasuke. Same thing for Sakura. In fact, he couldn't even care to properly develop a master-student relationship with her or even teach her some jutsu. It's kind of hard to see what exactly was he rewarded for by the story.
There's also a prominent lack of accountability for our villains. It makes sense for Sasuke and Orochimaru to get away with pardons or whatever since their contribution to the war was quite significant, but what about Kabuto? He literally got away with murder. We also don't know what were the post-war opinions about Madara and Obito. You can't just throw redemption arcs at everybody and be like that's all, happy ending.
And this volume did not feel like a happy ending for me, at all. The final stage of the War arc was not it, it quite literally left the story in shambles, and even Naruto finally becoming the Hokage felt empty. He fulfilled his dream just to be stuck behind towers of unresolved paperwork, be late to his meetings, and most importantly, be an apparently negligent father. Amazing.
Naruto will always have a special place in my heart because I grew up with this series. Everything was perfect--the story, artwork, characters, action, vibe, and the atmosphere. I remember back then, my friends and I would make a lot of discussions and theories about the next chapters and then we would worry about our favorite characters. Ah, good times! Perfect conclusion to an epic manga. Masashi Kishimoto successfully created a diverse universe with well-developed plot and characters.
Another star falls to earth. I love the naruto Franchise. I remember back when I was in middle school and all everyone did was read and watch naruto. I remember when youtube first came out and I discovered that I could watch all the Japanese dubbed episodes all the way up until the epic fight between Naruto and Sasuke. It was an exciting thrill ride. but like all roller coasters the excitement must end and this one reminds me of the ninja from six flags. It looks cool at first but gives you headaches from all the massive loops.
[BEWARE MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD *ABANDON ALL HOPE OF NOT BEING REVEALED ENDING INFORMATION HERE*]
My first biggest complaint is the stories pacing ...more so towards the end. The beginning of Naruto all the way to the shinobi war arc is superb. Well paced and mostly exciting. I have only have a couple of small complaints with the first arc on the bridge and the chunnin exam arc because they feel completely unnecessary in the larger context of the story, but those arcs aren't that big of a deal because they develop the characters and introduce what is mostly our main cast.
The shinobi war arc is where the pacing starts to get really tedious. I swear to God there were probably 500 or so single panel fuck yeah moments where Naruto says "I'm not going to give up" or some shit like that. There's nothing wrong with having a couple in every arc, but jesus christ I've been watching Naruto since the beginning I already know he isn't a quitter so I really don't need more information to tell me that he isn't.
My other problem with the shinobi war arc is that there are way too many plot twists some of which feel more like after thoughts than anything else. Seriously the Black Zetsu and Kaguya twists almost feels like the author was trying desperately to keep the story afloat. And don't even get me started on the Naruto and Sasuke are descendants of descendants of the sage of six paths. Give me a break, it's not like they weren't the chosen ones before even so this idea doesn't really work because the descendent of the elder genius son could have just as easily been kakashi and the younger failure of a son could have been obito or any other number of characters who share the dichotomy of one being a genius and other being a failure who has to work hard(Neji/Hinata, Lee/sasuke, Guy/Kakashi)
My final complaint is with the ending...it just feels more like fanservice than an end all be all ending. Naruto ends up with Hinata...even though he hasn't shown any interest in her for the entire series. Sakura ends up with Sasuke....even though he hasn't done anything but treat her like shit for the entire series with a couple of endearing moments here and there. *smh* It just feels like fanservice without any real development and it isn't the first time that happens in the series. In the pain arc when Hinata jumps in front of Naruto to protect him from pain only to get ass whooped after confessing her love to him, it was pure fanservice....
but I digress. All in all a good series with a couple of rotten moments in the second half.
As much as I hate the final arc, this series will always be in my heart until the day I die. If something is fantastic for an entire generation, then falls apart at the end . . . I still think the overall product deserves a good deal of praise. And besides, this final volume is actually really, really, really great. This arc may have been rubbish, but Kishimoto does bring us on home with an amazing final fight between our favourite boyfriends. And the resolution in Konoha is all emotional and fun, too.
Amazing series that will be loved by millions for many generations to come. Kishimoto deserves to be proud of what he has created here. This series has gotten me through the worst possible days. He is a manga legend now. People are still trying to copy his style and failing tremendously. Naruto did something that will not be done again in equal quality.
Farewell, Naruto. Since I don't really consider the Boruto manga canon, this is goodbye.
Can't believe that at-last the too long battle has ended!!! However, I didn't expect Naruto series to end as well. 😭 I liked how Kishimoto skipped some details at the end and left it upon us to imagine it as we wished. I was so attached to this series all these days that I'm damn sure that no other series can replace Naruto for me. Well, sayonara Naruto. It was such a wonderful time with you 😇. Finally I could like all the characters except for that goddamn Sasuke.. 😖
I can't even deal with this ending. After years and years of being in the Naruto-verse and suddenly it's over? How does one deal with this. THIS is WORST then Harry Potter. This is WORST then FRIENDS. My heart is heavy. The ending though, was everything a true Naruto fan could have ever wanted. And can we talk about getting Sasuke's little dialogue end?
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, the trio, the best of friends, happy and all have a family of there own.
*Spoiler*
Naruto, finally, gets everything he's ever wanted and everything he's ever fought for. He gets a wife, Hinata, and two adorable children, Baruto and Himiwari. At the beginning, Naruto said he wanted to be hokage. He achieved it.
Sasuke, oh my goodness. He went through so much darkness. He finally, FINALLY, realizes what he is right. That he should be happy. That revenge isn't everything. He falls in love, or was always in love, but was unable to let that woman he truly cared for in because he was filled with darkness. His wife, his love, is his light. She gave him a family again. He is now not the only Uchiha. At the beginning, Sasuke wanted revenge and to restore his clan. He has a beautiful wife and daughter, named Sarada. He achieved it.
Sakura came a long way from the beginning. She I believe grew up more then anyone. She became strong. She became someone worthwhile. She stood next to her teammates in battle and done damage, something she had trouble doing in the beginning. She is a wife and has a daughter. At the beginning, all she wanted was for Sasuke to notice her, to love her. She got it. She got all his love. She is now Sakura Uchiha, wife to Sasuke Uchiha, and mother to Sarada Uchiha. She achieved her goal.
They all did. They are finally happy. And that's more then I could have asked for.
I'm finally starting to understand that when you have something really great it's hard to wrap it up and put a neat little bow on it. There are a lot of characters to fill in, a lot of loose ends to tie up, and in the case of Sasuke, a character that is still looking for redemption up until the very end. It's hard to end it in a way that's going to satisfy readers and that's the case for me. The ending left me a little unfulfilled and it's the rest of the series that really pulls everything together. Still definitely one of my favorite series, but the ending needed a little more for me.
So um I just reread and bing -read the entirety of Naruto and ummm I am not ok 😃😭 Like every time I can back to this universe it leaves a big impact on me Team 7 will always have my heart like seeing them grow up its just🥺 Ps Tenten seriously needed more screentime like dont get me started
The book that took us 90's kids ten something years waiting to finish the story. AND I ACTUALLY CRY AT THE END for no good reason.
Lets face it, as a Naruto fan we all know that the series has a lot of Up's and Downs. Yet for some reason we still keep waiting for a update to any free manga scan websites you can found in the internet. We get the ending and the story ends(until the production company get greedy and still forcing to make a new series out of the pile of ashes)
This manga is a picture book of memories.
The journey of a young ninja whose striving to follow his dream finally paid of.
After 15 long years of collecting Naruto and constantly putting it off, I have finally finished all 72 volumes!!! I could not have asked for a more perfect ending and conclusion to this amazing series!! Naruto will always hold a place near and dear to my heart!! I am excited to see what the new series Boruto has in store but first I have 1 more little side manga in the Naruto world to finish!!
I am not sure how I feel about this one maybe because it was spoiled for me and already knew the ending? Anyways I still don't understand why Naruto and Sasuke had to have that last fight , but whatever at least now everything is settled. So Naruto becomes Hokage...hm no surprise.
I've read the entire series a few times. It'll always have a special place in my heart, even though it wasn't perfect. Especially the last arc or two, but it's as perfect an ending as one could ask for.
Naruto and serialised stuff in general are such hard things to rate. There were moments in Naruto that will be etched in my heart and soul forever and then there are moments... No eternities in which I've wished I had never started this deadbeat-repetitive-shallow-no good female character-one note abomination of a manga. So all in, it's a love hate relationship. The rating spanned the entire gamut from a spectacular 5 star to a shit smeared 1 star. So finally I settled for a decent 3 star.
Aku cuma ngga pernah ngebayangin kalo komik Naruto bakalan tamat.
Naruto... Sekarang berhasil mencapai cita-citanya menjadi Hokage. Dia sudah menjadi orang besar. Dan aku... Aku mengikuti perjalanannya dari awal; lika-liku kehidupan Naruto, jatuh-bangunnya. Hidupnya. Rasanya aku merasa bahagia saja melihat Naruto yang berhasil :') Aku jadi sentimental gini... :") Perjalanan Naruto dari awal sampai pada akhirnya dia menjadi Hokage desa Konoha benar-benar sebuah perjalanan yang sangat berkesan untukku :") Dia seperti karakter nyata-tak-nyata buatku.
Sedih saja melepas Naruto. Ngga nyangka akhirnya kisah Naruto berakhir juga... 15 tahun, lho. Masashi Kishimoto bener-bener hebat banget. 15 tahun bekerja keras membuat kisah Naruto, menjadikan Naruto terkenal sedunia (?)
Buatku, ending komik Naruto sempurna banget. Baaangeeet. Naruto nikah sama Hinata (finally!) dan dikaruniai dua anak, Boruto dan Himawari :') Manis banget... Naruto punya keluarga sendiri, dan jadi Hokage. ASDFGHJKL perasaanku campur aduk ketika menuliskan ini. Pokoknya ya Tuhan, aku suka sekali sama ending komik Naruto.
Jangan terlalu fokus sama tugas jadi Hokage, hehehehe.
