THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO BEGIN

When several dozen members of the public are burned to death at a local theatre, Sarah Stone & her disturbed partner Richard are called to clean up the mess. A nearly perfect, and wonderfully deranged, crime thriller!

Theatre Of Flames, book 2 in the Flesh & Stone series and follow up to the twisted Student Of Death, is about the investigation into a mass murder in a theatre using gasoline to burn many people alive. There is remarkable character growth by both Richard, who is fighting his upbringing to do good in the world and atone for past misdeeds and Sarah, both in growing beyond her own traumatic past and coming to trust Richard. Both characters are likeable and not, but serve as excellent foils for each other, giving the series a very unique dynamic not found in any other crime thriller series I know of. There are a lot of surprises in the book I won't ruin for you, so I'll just say this series is as good as crime thriller series come and, like Student Of Death, Theatre Of Flames is something different yet remarkably good compared to other series in the genre. If you like crime fiction, particularly the twisted kind, you'll love Theatre Of Flames, and the Flesh & Stone series as a whole. 5/5 stars!

Epub on kobo - SE from author; no isbn

A second outing with this mis-matched pair of investigators at the 'Murder University'. A fire during a theatre performance sparks a hunt for the arsonist, with a convoluted trail to follow, seemingly connected to a particular actor involved in an accident years ago... The investigation is particularly hard for Susan, herself burned in an attack while serving in Afghanistan... And the threat of budget cuts possibly leading to closure of the Unit is increasingly possible with every set-back.

Both leading characters grow during the investigation, with Richard in particular becoming more comfortable in the use of his early experiences. The pairing shouldn't possibly work - the premise of 'Richard' being reformed is unlikely enough - but the whole hangs together and the reader is drawn along fascinated by the degradations caused by the perpetrators.

it just gets better!

A highly detailed novel in the world of Flesch and Stone which keeps you reading long after you should be asleep. The occasional red herring keeps you guessing at the motivation of the arsonist involved in harrowing deaths, and the storyline keeps your attention. Can’t wait for more!

Another solid, guesome, crime, mystery. I am really liking this unlikely duo of Flesch & Stone, a slightly inhinged couple of investigatiors that seldom react as you expect. A lot action, and gruesome deaths and colourful characters. Fun read.

Book Two in the Flesch & Stone series. A suspenseful follow-up to book one. We lose some of the character shock from book one but looks like we pick it up again with the FMC in this book. Book one was so originally awesome in concept, I can't imagine any follow-ups could equal it, however this was close and I'm willing to bet the author has an ace up his sleeve for future. I'll be there to read it!
