Derek and Joe have been best friends since college. They have always done things together. Hung out together. Joe looked to Derek and his sister's as family. Joe had no family left.
Dani was Derek's youngest sister. She was the last one to move to Sugar Bay. She live with her sister Dylan and her three girls. She was going to school and working for Derek.
When Derek and Joe were together Joe would always tease Dani about something or other. Derek would either start the teasing or join in. But things were different when it was just Joe had her together. Joe wouldn't tease her.
Joe had a secret though. He secretly like Dani but there was the guy code about guy's dating their best friend's little sister, it just wasn't done. She was off limits. So when Joe was backed into a corner and had tried to get out of something by mentioning he was dating Dani, things got a little weird. He had to get Dani to go along with his plan of her being a pretend girlfriend. Dani agreed but had her own arrangement for Joe as well. But what about Derek. What would he do? How would he react?
Would Joe and Dani ever just get together or would Derek block them? Would Joe's past and guilt stop him from happiness? Would Derek ever approve?
This is a love story about never giving up and fighting for what you want.

a bit of a slow starter... I almost gave up on it but it got better quite fast... both hot
