This one was DEFINITELY my favorite so far in this series!! While I wasn't obsessed or crying over these books, this was perfect for a cozy mystery. It delivered on the "who-dun-it" trope, and I'm not sure why, but I was on the edge of my seat more in this one than the others.
Like I said about the pervious two books, my view on the characters still stand. There isn't that depth I'd normally like to see but that's honestly okay because these aren't meant to be deep or thought-provoking. You're here for a sweet, cozy mystery that will keep you entertained and this did exactly that.
I'd also like to point out that this had a bigger shock factor as to who the killer was! I'm not someone who tries to solve the mystery along the way; I'm just here for the vibes, ya know? But there were so many different ways this could've gone and it happened to be the one I didn't suspect. Kudos to the author for that one!
CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT THAT ENDING??? I don't know how many books will be in this series but if I don't get more info after THAT? Expect a lawsuit in your future.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this series for those looking for something short and sweet. None of these are over 300 pages and I managed to knock each of them out in 4-5 hours. They're super fast, engaging, and entertaining. I think this would be PERFECT as a pallet cleanser. Definitely pick this up in the fall season, the vibes delivered for it.

September 30, 2025Fall has arrived in Honeysuckle Bend—or at least it’s trying to—so it’s time to relish in the slightly more tolerable weather and once again pull up a chair at the bed-and-breakfast-bookstore-historical-landmark Myrtlebough. Owners and cozy sleuthing crew Callie, Maya, and Smokie are back at their sneaky antics—getting into trouble, finding answers, and discovering troubling answers.
Another inexplicable murder emboldens the characters to seek out the truth, no matter where it leads or what friends it calls into question. And, as usual, Maya certainly doesn’t hesitate to poke the bear with any stick of a question that comes to mind.
The ever-reliable Micah keeps the kitchen running and churns out baked goods while wearing his typical eclectic aprons, but Callie and Maya are deep into their unofficial investigatory duties, coming ever closer to brushes with the law and in particular the local police chief, Casey Bruneaux. As they continue to uncover the secrets buzzing around their small town, it seems the law is unavoidably involved in their detective work from an unexpected angle.
Relationships and politics continue to dance around one another in the delicate and intricate custom deemed appropriate for the South. A bonus trip to New Orleans takes us on a still deeper dive into Southern life and the richness of cultures coming together. All this time, the urgency of the mystery at hand is counterbalanced by the pace of life that has its own very established inertia.
Protagonist Callie shares:
“It had to be whimsy. It could only be whimsy. And whimsy was a thing I loved.”
This could sum up her experience at that moment, daily life in Honeysuckle Bend, or even this book series. What charm might be found at a Crime Stoppers’ Ball? Where does someone find a landmark-shaped horseshoe, and the niche artisan who crafted it? Once a police officer dons a captain’s hat and sets a parrot on his shoulder, how quickly does he morph from lawman to seaman? And of course Micah’s aprons are whimsy incarnate.
Every step we take around Honeysuckle Bend has hints (or outright neon signs) of whimsy, charm, and character that envelop the story and take the reader on a comfortable ride—with a lovable dog at hand.

"Camellias, Clues and Cold Cases: A Delightful Cozy Mystery (Honeysuckle Bend Cozy Mystery Series Book 3)" by Lisa Pevey jumps right into the mystery and action. Then just keeps going. Right away we have our first victim. I've come to expect two victims with this series but I almost missed the second one. It took one of the reveals nearing for me to figure out there had been a second murder.
Maya is in a gardening special interest phase. She's made friends with the town garden club's president and secures an invitation for her and Callie to a garden party to reveal a special Camellia plant. Unfortunately the hostess' body is part of the reveal. Her pet parrot heralding some eerie words.
There are many secrets revealed that the drive for a place in politics kept hidden. The police chief is extra not helpful as he has an odd reaction to this particular death. So Callie and Maya really dig into investigating. Micah, aka Josh, has his own mystery to solve after the cliffhanger reveal of book 2. Which brought us a second cliffhanger at the end of book 3.

When a book has you glued and you can't put it down......this book will hook you because you have to know what is going to happen. A few surpises with the characters and now Micah is in search of who is sending these long text messages. Is it his wife? Meanwhile, Callie and Maya have to solve a murder.
We have a cliff hanger in this book. When it came to the end I was in shock but now I have to know what happens. Miss Pevey you have to write book #4 and then you have to wonder how this will turn out between Micah and Callie......so I guess stay tuned

This book was written so well and you can see all of the things going on at once. With the two girls going in business with Evelyn and Micah coming to the Bed and Breakfast after it was found out about his past. When the Mayor's wife was found dead in the green house all things changed. Please read this book as it will keep you interested to the end.

This was lovely! I had read the other two before this and it did not disappoint either. I think the plot twist was well thought out. I am enjoying this series pretty much!

Definitely a Humdinger!
This story gave me a run for my money; I totally enjoyed the characters and the plot and how the killer was not revealed until the very end. Wow!

Soooo I finally finished this book ANDDD I never even knew that this genre existed where u can get a cozy small town with murder mystery and lisa pevey made me fall in Love with it
Her characters? Her writting just flows through
Maya was the character that I felt more closeeee tooo all though I loved callie too hehe
