Hope drove them upward. Now survival on the surface will test them.

Silo 42: Journey is the fourth gripping saga in the Silo 42 series. Having left the only home they've known, a determined caravan of former silo dwellers steps outside into a world no one in over a century has ever seen.

They quickly discover that the surface is wilder and more dangerous than they imagined—untamed forests, vanished cities, evolved animals, and unfamiliar weather. Their food is limited. Their maps are guesswork. And the rules of survival are unlike anything they have imagined.

Led by skilled scouts, builders, farmers and healers, the group must not only endure the elements—but face the unexpected discovery that other survivors walk this land, speaking a strange language filled with words that echo a prior world of lost technologies.

The ocean lies ahead and the possibility of building a new society. But so do difficult choices, old wounds, and the haunting
Was leaving the silo the beginning of something even harder?
What other surprises will test them?
Will newly formed alliances hold?
Will they and their vision of a new beginning survive?

The next chapter of this epic protopian saga unfolds in Silo 42: Journey, coming October 2025.

Silo 42: Journey by Zev Paiss continues the story of the resourceful inhabitants of Silo 42, who have defied the ruling Pact and successfully ventured to the surface. This fourth installment explores the challenges and discoveries awaiting them in a world no living person has ever experienced.
The book deepens the saga with clever plot twists and character development as the caravan faces untamed nature, abandoned cities, and the startling revelation that they are not alone. While most readers enjoy this continuation set within Hugh Howey's universe, some have noted a few editing issues and side plots that feel like padding. Nonetheless, for fans seeking more stories with Silo 42's hopeful and inventive spirit, Journey offers a rewarding, suspenseful ride.

Excellent Series

I have enjoyed this series, yet my interest is nearly played out. Tales of how the silos came to be, how various issues were dealt with, duplicity of the founders, and brief endings engage me, but I'm losing interest in the longer wind down.

Silo 42

Thoroughly enjoyed this series, I hope there will be more to come. Characters come alive and I felt real emotion at times - no spoilers though! Like Hugh Howey's trilogy, I won't be surprised if these stories take on a life of their own. Excellent!

Moved away from the Silo narrative too much and became more of a pioneer story. Still good but not very Silo.
