When your destiny is destruction, what remains of your soul?
Hadassah, the last princess of a dying lineage, has been tasked with the impossible — she has been asked to die.
But upon waking, her Harbinger lies broken, and her allies stand on the edge of ruin. She must cast aside her guilt, don the mantle of her mother, and rise as the last Queen of Emeris, the one fated to destroy the world.
In a realm where the heavens demand obedience, and Queens betray their own, Hadassah will walk the path of no return.
'There is no future for you, Hadassah. There is only death.'
This is honestly one of the best books I've had the pleasure of reading, it's not often that a book explores the sins of the world and it's people. It was genuinely interesting to see Hadassah navigate through it coupled with her own feelings (she's just a girl 🥹) the characters are interesting with their own conviction and moral compass, not mention they're easy on the eyes (zarek give me a chance ily) all in all you won't regret reading this book when it's released ‼️✊🏽
The sequel for one of my fave book of last year came out and I'm so happy i got early access to read it!
This book does what all sequels should do; take what you love from the first book and amplify! We have even more shocking twists and turns and delve deeper into the world of Emeris.
The one reason this isn't a five star is because you really see more of the anime/manga tropes and inspiration which isn't my personal taste. But it's still a very emotional and gripping read.
Hadassah's fate only for not being able to live up to her thirties is kind of cruel 😢. I loved that she was actually learning. I know that I say this a lot but I loved seeing her growth in an actual fight. Although she was beaten up a lot, it was still an enjoyable read
Although the ending made me cry 🤧. My favourite character is Zarek btw. He deserves some justice 🤏🏽
