Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.

Trauma Therapist
Oh my goodness, really Sidney & Serita⁉️….Devin & Shawn share culpability in the foolishness of their respective mates. It’s same bs just a different (Jameson and or Taylor) sibling and book🤦🏾♀️😡‼️Victim’s mentality of selective amnesia, entitlement, impulsive, irrational decisions and primal responses déjà vu again 😮💨😮🤯‼️”Sweeter Than Before (The Sweet Series - Book 3 of 8) all of the temptations, traumas, tribulations & revelations are consistently toxic aka “bitter sweet” for this family! Nervous breakdown ✅, understandable. Total insanity, expecting different results without these people/siblings receiving extensive therapy after decades of repressed emotions, physical, mental and sexual abuse with the consent (possibly encouragement of their mother🥴🤦🏾♀️😡‼️). Meanwhile, is it just me, or is there an excessive number of horrific events in Beaumont, TX particularly amongst the Jameson & Taylor women⁉️….a trauma therapist either on speed dial or on staff MANDATORY🫣🥴‼️…Storm ⛈️ clouds are always hovered over Beaumont, TX 🫣…certified crazy town & drama central USA‼️

SIDNEY AND DEVIN
OMG... will these characters ever catch a break and live peacefully without the drama. Just when you think Serita and Shawn had enough drama for their entire family it continues to barrel down affecting everyone close to them one by one. Sidney had a rough childhood worse than Serita but I was glad she was able to finally tell her story and get the help she needs to live a better life. I love her and Devin together. The one thing they so desperately wanted and finally have may possibly be taken away. But how will Sidney and Devin cope with that. I hope they don't experience anymore heartache. Can't wait to read what happens in book 4 for these characters.

Keeping Your Enemies Closer
This book had soooo many moving parts and kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to unfold!!!…
Sonya has been all over the place and I’m still not sure I trust her intentions at all!!!…
Sidney has endured a lot and she is very numb to the violence that has been perpetrated against her and that broke my heart!!!…I was glad that Devin was able to help her because that violation had me clutching my invisible pearls for sure!!!…
Sherita is definitely on a road that she is going to crash on in a little bit!!!…Shawn not being available for her after he was released was definitely a sure sign and she is slipping!!!…

Good couple
Sidney and Devin made a cute couple. Although Sidney shouldve told Devin about she couldn’t have kids so they could talk it out. And again, Serita got the best of my nerves! She act like she couldnt sit down somewhere and hold her man down while he was locked up. Her hot p***y a$$ just had to cheat with a donor. I kind of hated that Shawn took her back but then again, he did the same to her. So i guess its even now. But im still waiting on Sonya to make her presence known.

STRESSSSSSSS!!!! Whew giiirrrlll!!
Too much! Too much! Too much! I had to put this down for a bit. My heart can't take all the drama and pain. Triggers! Can anyone be happy and dramas free for one whole year??? I need a breather before starting the next book. Sidney is the attorney you need! She has a solution to everything. Devin is the peace she needs. Guess I'll try to prepare myself for what Monica Walters will drag me through in the next book. I definitely recommend this series.

So so so GOOD!
I have fallen down a Monica Walters rabbit hole and I’m reading everything I can get my hands on!! She really knows how to develop characters and write a story that pulls you in quickly. I’m on the edge of my seat the majority of the time. Most importantly, she knows how to write a plot twist!!! I don’t know how many times I screamed at my phone! (Kindle App) I have to keep going, have to read more. You should too.

Emotionally draining
Ms. Walters has taken family drama to a whole damn level that can not be fathom. Serita, Shawn, Synthia, and Devin can these four and their families take much more 🤦🏾♀️ I just want to say if you are looking to cry be angry and turned on all within. A two chapter read this series will not disappoint. This series is playing NO games 🙅🏽♀️

Wow!
Still enjoying unraveling these families and what makes them tick. Having been introduced to Sonya first in another series this process of getting to the other side of her story is going slowly. However it’s been worth the journey to find out the reasons for her relationship with her family, especially Sid. On to book four.

Getting better every series 😉
Sidney like her sisters have not had it easy. Devin also hasn't had it easy. Together these two are super couple to me but, even super couples have problems. The journey continues with these families and I'm definitely here for it all. I'm absolutely loving the twists and turns that these books are taking wonderfully written.

Great book!!
Wow this was an emotional roller coaster. Although I enjoyed reading this book it took my emotions on a crazy ride. I enjoy the love and commitment to keeping your family together in this novel, what I always enjoy is adding normalcy to therapy. I'm anxious to see what happens in the next t book, great read!!

Sidney Jameson’s has secrets that she has not revealed to her family. Sidney has put all her energy into her education and work. Sidney is determined to become the best attorney in Texas. Devin proposed to Sidney, and she accepts. Situations arise and Sidney must share her secrets with everyone. Devin and Sidney are engaged but the secrets that were revealed about the Jameson family. I enjoy reading about Sidney, she is a real firecracker.

Great Read
This family has gone through so much, but they continue to fight and stay strong together. Sidney just keeps getting hit with so much tragedy, but she constantly bounces back stronger each time. The rest of the family tends to lean on her. Can't wait to see what happens next.

The writer needs to stick to one genre. Master that before moving on to the next. This is a poor example of combining romance and mystery. Also what Ian did to Sidney in the end was unnecessary drama. Devin’s actions were enough to move the story on. I gave this a 3 because I like series. Getting to know the characters in the different books has been very good.

Sweeter than before
If anymore drama and chaos could find this family it did. Sidney is a beast of an attorney and it shows in every case she handled. Devin is so patient with her and showed her he was the man for her. Despite the mess that Sonya caused, she actually helped out in the end. Let’s hope some good comes for the family in the next book-including Graham.

Very bitter sweet!!!
Poor Sidney and Devin. It seemed this family just can’t catch a break. Issue after issue. I don’t know how they are holding on. Let’s see how they get to me meeting them in later books.

Wayyyyy too much!!!!! How can so many heartbreaking things happen? It's like they are cursed. They are proof that money doesn't bring happiness. Devin and Sidney are not a love story, they are victims. I ache for them.

I enjoyed the theme of family flowing through this story. What tragedy and faith they all have. I love this author's writing style. She can make even a drug dealer endearing. I wish I had read this series before reading " The devil goes to church too".

Ok Monica! You have this storytelling in the bag all the time! Yow! The Taylors and the Jamesons can't catch a break!!! The abuse these girls been through is heartbreaking! I love the drama though! About to dive in book number 4!

It's not a bad series...it's a page turner for sure I just don't like all the rape.

Good read
Good read, there is very little joy for the characters in this storyline. Devin and Sidney are in love. However, their relationship is plagued with trauma and tragedy. For every happy moment in this book, there is sadness.

Sweeter before
Devin and Sidney story will have you in the edge of your seat waiting for the sequel. Their mother Sarah had some deep rooted issues that affect the kids. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
