Adored the ebooks, loved the audiobooks
I’ve previously reviewed each story and had given these books 5 stars each.
Pity I can’t give this audiobook review 10 stars as I most definitely would.
The narrator, Isla Ross did an amazing job of telling these stories and I loved every minute of listening to her reading both books 1 & 2 of this series.
I received this audiobook for free and this is my honest opinion.

Book 1 review
Highlander Seduced

Can she rise above her station in life?
Scotland 1452
Bonnie, a dreamer, wishes for more in her dreary life than being a chambermaid at Stirling Castle.
She is young and very beautiful.
Tormented by her aunt and one of her two cousins daily, her life is no bed of roses.
A chance to rise above her station in life for an evening appears and Bonnie takes advantage of what has been offered to make a dream come true for a few short hours.
Iver Mackay, Laird of Dun Ugadale has come to Sterling Castle to talk politics and for his clan to pledge allegiance to The Scottish King.
Iver, an extremely handsome man in his thirties, having been hurt by uncaring woman in his past is still single and quite bitter.
Hiding away from life, he vows to never marry.
Enchanted by a mystery woman at a masquerade ball he finds himself dancing the night away with her, captivated by her beauty and wit.
A walk outside in the gardens together leads to much more than either expected and later has the beauty running off.
Once all is revealed can a Laird fall in love with a chambermaid?
Can a servant rise above her station and adjust to become a Lairds wife? Will she be accepted by his family or shunned?
This story is an adult spin on Cinderella, with a bit of spice added.
I quite enjoyed reading Bonnie and Iver’s story which at times was sexy, emotional, had a little bit of violence, showed courage, repeatedly defending a persons honour and eventually falling in love.
I loved all the characters and that each of Iver’s brothers will have their own stories, which I’m looking forward to reading.

Book 2 review
Highlander Honored

An unexpected love match
Another fantastic story in Jayne Castel’s Rebellious Highland Hearts series set in 1453 Scotland.
Featuring Lennox Mackay, brother of Iver, Laird of Dun Ugadale.
Feeling that he doesn’t fit in at his home he takes a position as Captain of the Guard for Laird Colin Campbell.
Charged to take Lady Davina Campbell to take the veil at the Isle of Iona they head off on an unforgettable journey.
Facing danger on the way Davina’s plans drastically change leading her onto another path with Lennox right by her side.
I loved the characters and the storyline and look forward to reading Kerr’s story next.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend reading it.

Having read and enjoyed several of this authors previous books, I was delighted to receive audiobooks of the Rebellious Highland Hearts: The Complete Series, as an ARC. Here is my honest review.
My expectation was that they would be well written and accurately portray medieval life in the Scottish highlands, and that each book would immerse me in the story of one of the Mackay brothers.
I was not disappointed! The audio books are narrated by Isla Ross, with her lilting Scottish accent and a very natural way of switching between characters and conveying the emotion of the moment. Added to Jayne Castell's evocative writing style, this creates a full immersion experience - at times it is like being right there with the characters.
Throughout these books, the author gives us just enough detail about the landscape, the lifestyle, the political goings on etc, to bring us into the scene. Yet mostly we are engaging with the Mackay brothers and their partners-to-be as they navigate life, struggle to find love (or not to love!), make difficult choices, resist the sexual attraction (or not resist!). Family is very important to these brothers and that is what links the books, although each is a satisfying standalone story.
For me, this is going to be one of those book series that gets read (or listened to) over and over again.

This is a collection of two audio books. Each book is a story of one of four Scottish brothers. The books are stand alone stories but do continue a common plot line. Each story added more to this plot line. The characters are well developed and the plot moves along at a good pace. The narrative is done in a Scottish accent. This is a nice touch. Her Scottish accent was easy to understand and very soft. I listened to the audio book in Audible. It had a clear sound. I did receive this as an ARC audio book and am writing a voluntary honest review.

Two stories spun from starlight

These aren't merely stories heard, but a world stepped into. Jayne Castel's pen has woven a tapestry of two breathtaking love stories set in a land of wild beauty and fierce loyalties, embroidered with characters that feel like long-lost friends. And the narrator? Isla Ross's voice is the spell that brings it all to luminous life, a perfect symphony of word and wonder. An absolute marvel from first word to last.
