So who am I? Well, I'm the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn't love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.
Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there's always someone to tell your mama on you. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled "Lord Margrave's Deception." I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters.
Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my family and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce...lol.
I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.
I mean don't get me wrong I did enjoy it because I do love all of the characters and learning with them as they come to understand their gifts and what they are capable of. I also love their interactions with each other. Especially Mattie and Dan. They have come a long way together and they have survived so much!
I just felt like this was missing something. Almost like it was a filler book until the next installment. Which, I am looking forward to because the ending leaves you needing so much more!
This was by far the worst cliffhanger ending of the series yet. The sadness and chill factor was off the charts especially since they finally find the little girl next door Kayla. I’m so worried how this series will end, I’m doubting there is an actual HEA to be found. Deleriel a flipping fallen angel comes to collect what was promised to him when she was born, her soul. But now, now her soul is connected to Dan after she stopped him from dying. Silas we find out is her grandfather and actually made circumstances what they are in order to assure Mattie would be born, a perfect trifecta to whatever his f’d up plans for her are. And now it seems she needs his help, but everyone knows you can’t and shouldn’t make deals with demons. Especially someone like Mattie who can’t stop talking about the show Supernatural. I was pissed at Eli, when she came clean about her heritage, he did not take it well and I think I finally see that they unfortunately are not meant to be. I have no idea what to expect in the next one especially since it seems Deleriel holds many cards now and Mattie is just desperate enough to give up her soul to save her friend and Eli/Caleb’s little brother. I just really hope this isn’t going to turn into some self sacrificing thing because I’ll be pissed. But then again it’s hard to see a happy outlook when Mattie’s world has literally gone to shit since day one. Her heritage is literally killing her body and it’s shutting down, I mean is there a way to stop that because it doesn’t seem like it. Plus her and Dan’s souls are connected so should one of them die, so does the other.... (Insert screaming here lol) While I cannot wait to finish this and see what happens I’m beyond apprehensive about what the outcome will be. As someone who Needs a HEA to-live, well, I’m terrified.

OMG, how does Apryl do it. This series is more addictive the further you go. The twists are amazing and the scenes are getting more gruesome. The characters are actually living in Hell and you just wonder what on earth can happen next. How will Mattie get Mary and the brother back this time? What has she lost for Silas help?

More good than part 1 of book 4. I'm losing interest. But I WILL NEVER GIVE UP on Mattie. I already have the copy of last installment which is the 5th book.
I shipped Mattie and Dan. Obviously they belong to each other! Too many boys involved! What a b***h! lol!
Also, its realllllly annnnoying why you need to give back story?! It took up so much of the story. And Mattie always ends up in a hospital?! Kinda redundant too. I also don't think that there should be part 1 or part 2 since the story is short.
I gave 3.5 stars coz of officer Dan and SILAS! I'm really curious about that demon! I want to know more of his history!
I'm really excited to know what would be Mattie's decision, what will happen, and what choices she will make. So???
Accio book 5! *grin*

I have been following this series since I first learned of it. I never expected anything to beat the first in the series. But they just keep getting better!
A lot of questions are answered from vol 4 part 1. What happened to Kayla? Does Mattie's ever growing abilities help find Kayla before she is turned into one of Delireil's children? Do Mattie and Dan find the love they are looking for in each other or will Mattie wait for Eli?
Vol 4, part 2, is fast-paced and action packed. Full of new twists and turns. Silas, of course, still wants Mattie and is convinced she will make a deal with him. With all of her new abilities, the war that's coming, and finally having loved ones she knows won't leave her - will Silas be able to force her hand and get what he wants?
Will She be able to handle all of the new abilities without a worsening medical condition? Do we finally find out exactly what Mattie is and why she is so important for Angels and Demons alike, not to mention those pesky ghosts?
What of Mattie's new family? Zeke and her grandparents, can they convince Mattie to pack up and leave for New Orleans? How is Mary holding up, are her and Caleb finally an item?
Has Dan forgiven Eli? Is he willing to accept the things he once refused to believe in? Will he join his birth family, the Malone's in the fight against good vs evil? This story is overloaded with edge of your seat suspense and will leave you guessing at every page.
Apryl has taken something that's been done before and created a world unlike any other I've yet to read. That says a lot, given the amount of time I've been reading "ghost stories". This series is so much more than that and could absolutely be the next big blockbuster. Bigger than Twilight. It could fill the void so many of us still feel from the loss of The Vampire Diaries (even though this series doesn't deal with Vamps) if the right cast and directors are chosen.
**** Recommended for supernatural lovers of ALL AGES ****** and definitely worth all 5 stars. If I could give it more, I would give it more!!!
i really loved this book, the whole The Ghost Files series, but damn... i don't want to spoil anything exept- be prepaired.Apryl Baker is one of my favourite Authors , but she is cruel, seriously cruel . But i love her anyway -she is a genius. Read and enjoy the Book and be prepaired for the EPIC cliffhanger. remember, i said she is a cruel cruel woman ;D But she is the best <3 can't wait to read about Mattie's new series. ❤❤❤❤Fall 2018
This one was quite a let down. Not a whole lot went on and it's still continued. I understand giving all the back story to remind the reader, but it took up so much of the book, that it was over before it ever really got started. Most of it took place with Mattie in the hospital and learning her heritage and abilities so hopefully, the next one wraps up Deleriel and his ghost kids and has more action since Mattie was healed.
My God this is a book different from the rest. I refuse to spoil but if you read the whole series you would go crazy to find out what will happen next. Thank you, Apryl Baker for making this series. Overall if you didn't read the series you should. You will have a surprise!
This series never fails to disappoint! Yet again I find myself starting this story me finishing in the same day as I can't put it down! I love Maddie and the gang and will be having withdrawal until I can read the next story.

My Review
This is the SECOND part of Book 4 in Apryl Baker's Ghost Files series. Former foster child Mattie Hathaway's life should be looking up. She has found her father and his family, who love her with all her ghost magnet/reaper abilities. She's living with Mary, the girl who her she loves like a sister, she's got a maybe-boyfriend, Eli, and her rock, Officer Dan, is going to be okay... but things don't ever stay peaceful for long in Mattie's world! When Kayla, the little girl who lives next door is snatched from in front of her home in broad daylight, Mattie and Officer Dan go into overdrive trying to find her before she meets the same deadly fate as the other children who have recently gone missing in town. The clock is ticking and they have one week to find her alive before the killer discards her and moves to his next victim. By the end of this book, several of those that Mattie loves are in danger, and the reader will be left on the edge of their seat and desperate to read what happens next in book 5!
Oooo I can already picture the smile that plastered on Silas’ face when those three words flew out of Mattie’s lips.
*calm down* Okay. This Part 2 of Volume 4 is somewhat confusing and kind of boring when you add Dan’s POV in (not all though, just some). I’ll admit that I have the same problem Mattie is having. If I were to choose between Dan and Eli, well.. I can’t. Just can’t. Like I said in my last review for Volume 3, Eli is like her light in the dark (despite the fact he’s her ‘personal’ guardian angel). He is the Ying to her Yang (please excuse my cliché language). He sees the bad in the world, while Mattie sees the good in the world.
As for Dan well, there’s a lot I can say about him, but I can put it to one sentence. He will always be there for her. Always. Period. Even when Mattie brought her crazy to another level, Dan would always be there. I remember when he said he’s in it for the long haul. At first I doubt it because of his second thought on Mattie when he got knocked out cold at Zeke’s house (which I forgot if it was Volume 3 or Part 1 of V. 4), but After finish reading this part of V. 4 I’m starting to believe in Dan’s word.
Anyway- what a good way to end Volume 4, hopefully everything will settle at the final volume (V. #5).
That bastard. 🙄 I just don't understand Mattie's fascination with Dan. I can't stand that dude. How can she continously overlook his BS but as soon as someone else does something she doesn't like, it's a betrayal🙄 I'm trying so hard to get over my hatred of Dan but that fool makes it so easy to dislike him. Everyone is cool with some hag killing Dan's mom and stealing him but as when Eli turns that hag in, now it's betrayal. But hey it's ok Dan loves her. Bunch of horsesht!! Then her loser husband bails her out. If my husband destroyed a family like that, there would be no such thing as bail. He'd rot in prison. Ohhh but noooo they're just living it up like one big happy family. As if none of that sht ever happened. That whole family needs to go lol. I've had it with Mattie. Not only is she starting to be whiney and annoying, she's just stringing Eli, her supposed boyfriend, and that idiot along. Pick one already. Jeez. She gets mad because Eli found out about her bloodline and he needed time to think. "Dan would never leave me." Btch he left you for a whole other girl!!!! But I guess that's cool.
Rant aside, I actually enjoyed the story. I still wish the romance could be left alone until she's not a fkn child. She has much more important things to worry about. I really would like to know more about her dad and his family. I hope he's not playing her.
The children of Charlotte, North Carolina are going missing. Exactly one week after they disappear they are found dead. Mattie and Dan, along with Eli and the Malone’s are trying everything they can to find who is taking the children and why. Soon Mattie realizes it’s the fallen angel Deleriel. Deleriel is taking the children as his own. Mattie now has to try and help all the children before it’s too late. Throw in the fact that she can’t seem to stay out of the hospital. Mattie has been through a lot the last year, and her body is finally not able to handle it anymore. Mattie will have to rely on the help of her friends and loved ones for help. Including her grandfather Silas. Deleriel will do anything to get Mattie and her abilities he needs from her. What happens when Deleriel finally takes two people Mattie cares about? Will she finally make a deal with Silas them for her soul?
OMG! This book was great just like all the other ones in the series. I still love Mattie and Eli together even though they have some issues to work out. I want to find out what happens to them. Mattie can’t get help from Silas there has to be another way. If she makes a deal with Silas how would that change her abilities? I am so excited to read the next book in the series.
I really should have stopped reading by now but I was invested
I read this entire series and was unsure how I felt through the whole thing. To be honest the potential was there and it had me hooked and that’s the only reason I gave it a 3 stars! The book series was clunky, didn’t flow naturally, and added random new facts which were obviously an afterthought by the author and not seeded properly through the book. There was continuity errors throughout and the main character seemed to be surrounded by eligible attractive men who she was typically cringey and teenage with her descriptions and interactions. But in saying this it’s not a romance book at all! There is the odd kiss here or there and vows of platonic love, familial love and real love but honestly I don’t think any of the characters knew anything about their feelings and it really showed in the clunkiness of the writing. It read more like a fan-fic than a novel. But like I said the premise was fantastic!! It had so much potential! 3 stars!!
Did she really just end this book like this? That's exactly the reason why I never start a series before it's finished... I do think she could have just put part 1 and 2 in a single book as the books aren't that long. 1 day of reading for me. (3,5 hours) I did like them, but still those inconsistencies that keep popping up. Does it bother no one that in the first book, she has never said prayers before a meal, and Dan does it for her at his parents' house? Were she's now, all of a sudden, super religious and Dan isn't? Also, I would like her to fight more and undergo less.... she's supposed to be strong, right? Other than that, I enjoyed the books. They just suck you all in.
As all the other books in the series, this one kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to the end. Mattie learns more about her background and heritage and her neighbors granddaughter is missing. Trying to help Dan solve the missing child case and figure out her feelings for him, Mattie begins to get extremely sick........not to mention her issue with Eli and her growing emotions for him as well. Deleriel is the fallen angel who is the cause of all the demonic children and who Mattie must defeat in order to get things back to normal
Not a Happy READER!! A mess up cliffhanger. Did I mention before that the next series would not be released sometime in the late fall of 2018. The Crane Diaries. I truly believe this book should have been The Ghost Files 4: Part 1 not Part 2... and 5th book should have been released on its places. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it because. I do love all the characters Mattie, Dan, Eli, the Malone's. I'm just really disappointed by the way it was left.
THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! Seriously, what's more scarier than demon children? Nothing! The way this author writes is amazing. You could seriously have nightmares with this story!
All the creepy scenes, funny, lovable. I wonder all the time which guy Mattie will end up with. Both is amazing and care for her.
And that ending! I will never get over it, and I will be waiting impatiently for book 5 in print to come out!
This book is really catchy but I have to say that there are more grammar and spelling mistakes in this one than any of the others. It may be harsh but it really irritates me that a writer pays good money to an editor who doesn't do their job.
Anyway back to the story. I am downloading the next ghost files already. I need to find out Matties final power and I need to know she gets out alive! Great read it only took me 3 days!
Even though it has been a hot minute since I have read the prior books into the series. From the get go this book had hooked. It did take me a bit to remember what the last book was about but as I got further into the book the more I understood. The way everything is getting revealed has me left with my mouth hanging open. And I’ll be starting the next book as soon as possible, because I need to know what happened next.
I absolutely love this series and I thought that so much was explained in this book. Mattie is in deep poop and I need to know what is going to happen asap. I hate having to wait for the next installment!! I have pre-ordered every book to come out in this series and it won't be any different from here on out.
Mattie's true mother is a "being that hasn't been seen on earth for millions of years"? What the heck? Just what is she? How powerful is she? Who's she really in love with? Is Silas really going to sacrifice her? Eric is now in Jake's body? Okay, my head's spinning like crazy. It's a good thing I have the next - and last - book ready to go!
Apryl Baker sure has a talent. With each book the story behind Mattie has only increased in intensity and an edge of your seat thriller. I have enjoyed the series so far. It has been well thought out leaving you to wonder what will happen next. Definitely not a disappointment.
As Mattie's power grows, she discovers more mystery about her family. Each book in this series gets more gripping, and more intense. But to get the full effect, you must read them all ... in order.
Apryl Baker has quite the imagination, added to her amazing talent, to make her absolutely top notch. I highly recommend her books.
Wow ! Just when you think this series could’nt get more exciting(Terrifying). It does. The more secrets that are revealed, the more secrets there are yet to reveal. Now, I have to hurry up and get the next book, so that I can appease my interest, and curiosity. Well done Ms Baker !
Poor Mattie is taking hits right and left. She is turning full reaper but her body can't handle it. Plus she finds out Dias engineered her birth and she is supposed to great a fallen angel. How is she going to do that and what more is she. I can't wait for more.
Mattie lean one more of her powers but there is a third power she need to fight Deleriel. Deleriel is a fallen Archangel. He is the one who is killing the children. An Mattie learn to use all her power before he takes Mary and kill more children?. This could have been one book. Great story.
I am so hooked on these ghost files that I’ve already bought the next one to start reading after this review. The characters are extremely well written & come alive as you read. I’m even liking Silas. I don’t want to leave any spoilers but I will say these are great books but don’t take my word for it....READ IT!
