Peril Among the Pansies

Rate this book
A lost pug, strange noises in the morgue, and an old crush—what has Neeley gotten herself into?

Neeley Kelter loves her hometown and owns a charming flower shop on the same land as her grandpa’s rundown mortuary. But when a local gravedigger is found shot in the morgue, Neeley’s peaceful small-town life takes a deadly turn.

To make matters worse, the sheriff called to the scene is Troy McGregor—her former best friend and the man she hasn’t spoken to in fifteen years. As secrets sprout and old feelings resurface, Neeley finds herself tangled in a mystery that’s as prickly as it is personal.

With a cozy mystery book club meeting in the morgue, an eccentric grandpa who hears things no one else does, a trail of buried secrets, and one very opinionated pug, Neeley must unearth the truth before the killer strikes again.

An Incredible Mystery by Kristy T Dixon

This is my first Kristy T Dixon book and it was excellent. The characters are very well written and realistic. The mystery was great and I had no clue who was doing what. And there was a lot going on. This was a wonderful adventure and I can't wait to get the next book in this series.

Peril Among the Pansies is a delightful cozy mystery that blends small town charm, clever humor, and an engaging whodunit into a thoroughly entertaining read. Kristy T. Dixon creates a memorable cast of characters and a mystery that keeps readers guessing while delivering plenty of heart along the way.

Neeley is a likable and relatable protagonist whose love for her hometown and determination to uncover the truth make her easy to root for. The reunion with her former best friend, now the local sheriff, adds emotional depth to the story, while the quirky supporting characters, charming flower shop, and opinionated pug give the novel its irresistible cozy atmosphere.

With its well paced mystery, engaging characters, and warm sense of community, Peril Among the Pansies is an enjoyable read for fans of cozy mysteries filled with humor, friendship, and small town intrigue. It is a wonderful beginning to a series that promises plenty of mystery and charm.

Okay, this one surprised me in the best way. Peril Among the Pansies is definitely not my usual genre, but wow this was so cute. Like, cozy, comforting, and just the kind of light read you don’t realize you need until you’re completely hooked.

I honestly couldn’t put it down. The story flows so easily, and it’s one of those books you fly through in a single sitting without even trying. It gave me all the charming, small-town vibes with just enough mystery to keep things interesting.

What I loved most is how easy and enjoyable it was. No heavy emotional lifting just a fun, feel-good read that still keeps you engaged.

And the best part? There are more books in the series
This is exactly the kind of book I’ll reach for when I want something quick, cozy, and satisfying. I’ll definitely be picking up another one soon.

Gravedigger mystery

Neeley has a flower shop next to her grandfathers mortuary. He has been hearing strange noises like someone is in the building but he can never find them. A man is found dead in his study and he is holding the fun so now he is a suspect. The sheriff and Neeley investigate the strange occurrences and find out there are some grave robbers and they are stashing the item in the attic of the mortuary. Good mystery with a few twists and a little romance with a cute puppy.

Did I read the book just because there's a pug in the cover? Yes and I was pleasantly delighted. It's a cute and short book set in a small town where everyone has to stick their noses in everyone's business. It was funny and even thought it was a murder mystery it was still lighthearted, there are some plot holes and things that would only happen in a book but I didn't care cause it had a cute little pug as the main characters companion.

Loved it! And it's connected to Harmony Landing series as well.

I picked this one from the "like books you read" category and loved it from chapter 1. The characters are fun, story was very different, mystery was hard to solve due to all the cross connections. I also discovered it is connected to the Harmony Landing series I recently started. So I was invested more once I found that out. Ready for book 2!

My Review of Peril Among the Pansies

What a great story. Kristy T Dixon is a great cozy mystery writer. She is a genius at developing characters. She really fooled me me this time I didn't even consider the character that murdered Harrison as a suspect. Great job Kristy. I am looking forward to the next Clover Haven Mystery.

I like it!

I enjoy when book series converge. I will have to say the the Harmony Landing Mystery series is my favorite. But, this was a cute book. Troy is my favorite character in Harmony Landing so it's nice to hear more of his story. I'm looking forward to reading more about Troy and Neely!!

I was immediately drawn in by how cute the cover was and ended up really enjoying this book! It was a short book so pretty fast paced and I loved the small town aspect. I would definitely pick up more books in this series, even if it's just to see what Murphy is up to!

One of the best who done it books I have read. Murphy is super adorable. All of the characters are so easy to relate to. If you get this book, plan on reading it until the end, because you won't be able to put it down. I would give it more stars if I could.
